About 216 Atlantic Ave Cohasset, MA 02025
Waterfront Treasure on the South Shore This is an apartment in a spectacular, secluded house directly on the waterfront with a dock on the inner harbor of Cohasset, just a short walk to Sandy Beach and a short drive from downtown Cohasset. The apartment is 2 bedrooms -- both medium plus 1 twin-sized bonus room for use only in nice weather, since its not insulated. It is the entire first floor of a historic hunting lodge, within a family estate on Little Harbor. The lodge was built onto a rock face in 1900 and remains in the same family today. The upstairs apartment is only occupied during parts of the summer, so it's very private and peaceful. From the house, there is a large side yard and private path that leads to a dock with a rowboat. At low tide, you can walk out to the exposed mud flats of Little Harbor. Sandy Beach is just a few hundred yards walking from the driveway. Enjoy the sunsets on the porch looking out on the harbor and breakfasts by the water. Enjoy cold winter nights looking out at the water from the picture window in your cozy living room. Due to the historic nature of the property, the apartment is simple but elegant. The apartment is an outstanding location for anyone. Kids and adults alike can come and go from the water all day, play in the side yard, picnic on the dock, and explore the rocks and trees. A writer would find solitude sitting on the porch or in the living room looking out at the water. Everyone will enjoy quaint downtown Cohasset, with its pastry and coffee shops, only 8 minutes down the road. Sandy Beach is a short walk and Nantasket Beach is a 10-minute car ride. The nearest grocery store is 7 minutes. And downtown Boston is accessible via a 45-minute car ride, commuter train ride (Cohasset Stop on the Greenbush Line) or commuter boat ride from Hull. A delightful feature of the harbor that the house is on is that at low tide, the center of the harbor emerges and the 'mud flats' are exposed - great for running, digging, playing, and clamming. At low tide, children, dogs, and the whole family can walk right out from the yard to the mud flats, the water is no more than 12 inches deep between the dock and the flats. The apartment is currently furnished. You can choose to keep all, some or none for your use and we’ll remove the rest. We are looking for at least a 9 month lease (open to much longer if you prefer) starting immediately. First, last and security due upon lease signing ($7,500). Please note: We will be installing a washer/dryer in the apartment this fall.
