Merrill is a small and fairly isolated city in north central Wisconsin on the banks of the Prairie River and the Wisconsin River. The city is home to a number of preserved historic buildings which are still in active use, including the magnificent Lincoln County Courthouse and countless vintage storefronts all around the Downtown area. Locals enjoy a wide array of options for enjoying their free time, from Lincoln Lanes and Sawmill Brewing Co. on the north side of town to the classic Cosmo Theatre on Main Street.
Numerous parks around town provide great opportunities to spend time outdoors with beautiful views of the rivers that flow through the city. The rental market in town tends to be extremely affordable, with options ranging from traditional apartments and houses to lofts inside historic downtown buildings.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.
