Within a few minutes walk you are at the heart of Downtown Morgantown, with all of the restaurants, cafes, and night life you will need. But just as you cross Pleasant street, only 2 blocks away, the pace slows back down for you to find your home in the peace. This historic building has been home to many professionals and businesses over the years. This is the type of place you wish the walls could talk. The Brand Building was built in 1924. Clyde Brand purchased part of the original John Rogers farm and constructed this three-story brick building to house his plumbing company and the Brand Apartments in 1924. Clyde and his wife owned the building until the 1960s. After Clyde’s death, Flora rented the building to various businesses. During WWII, the Brand’s rented the building to the U.S. War Price and Rationing Board. In the 1950s, the building housed Morgantown Water Commission. Wilson's book store and Genensis photography shop have also been housed by the Brand Building. This building is now home to Andrew White Guitars. make sure to stop by and check them out! ATTRACTIONS: - The Rail Trail, a member of the Rails to Trails Hall of Fame, can be accessed just a few hundred yards behind the building making access to miles and miles of walking and bike trails incredibly convenient. - The newly remodeled Ruby McQuain amphetheatre is also just a few minutes walk, maybe 2 -3 minutes, where they enjoy regular live conerts, and holiday celebrations such as 4th of july. - Main Street Morgantown also host a monthly Arts Walk downtown to celebrate local artists and downtown businesses. Businesses host local artist for locals and students to enjoy. - Morgantown Hotel is only 2 blocks away to host family and friends who would like to visit. It is just newly and completely renovated in 2021 and is very affordable, clean, and beautiful. - The Morgantown Arts Center-MAC is just a block away. They regularly host artist and perfomances. RESTAURANTS, CAFES, AND NIGHTLIFE: Within Walking Distance there are fantastic options for dining, hanging out, and having a drink in the evening. Several great restaurants and bars. - Post office is across the street EASY ACCESS: The Brand building is only minutes from the highway, and easy to find off Exit 1 of I-68, literally only 2 turns after the highway onto Foundry St.
