Property Ratings at 1930 Whitley Ave
I lived here for 3 years from 2017-2020, it is a beautiful building full of interesting people. However during my time here it was never clear who the manager was, no one that I could contact would be held responsible. This came to a head when an upper apartment’s bathroom pipes began to leak into my bathroom light fixture and onwards to drip into the bathroom. This major issue took over 3 weeks to fix, as the plumber who was supposedly scheduled would reschedule or not show up. I left shortly after. Despite the bad management, its a beautiful starter apartment in a cool neighborhood.
Our son has rented here for a few years. The vintage building has a cool vibe. It used to be a mansion that has been divided into separate apartments. The neighborhood near the Hollywood Hills seems safe and these apartment have a keyed entrance to the foyer. The location is within walking distance to some nice cafes and restaurants. There is bus transportation nearby if you don't have a car. Take a tour if an apartment is available!
The building manager is alright. He keeps the building clean and is pretty friendly. He is also usually around and available to answer questions. The frustration here is that he usually is not on the same page with office managers and this causes a lot of confusion and room for error. The office management will rarely respond to your maintanence concerns and if they do, the never take any fault. I will never rent from Apartment Equities ever again. The amount of headaches they have caused is unconceivable. I write this in good faith to all hopeful tenants at 1930 Whitley LLC - BEWARE!!
I have lived in my studio apartment for almost two years now. Here are the pros and cons. Pros- Building manager Neil is AWESOME! Always there to help etc French windows sold the place. Right in the middle of crazy Hollywood and everything else. Permit parking is a plus. All I need to do is get the parking pass and I'm golden. Pet friendly. Half way up the hill are beautiful million $ homes. Great place for morning jog, dog walking etc. Cons: Permit parking is just for you, so if you plan on having a friend over you must get a pass 24 hours in advance. Let's be honest, I don't even no what I will be doing in 4 hours. So no parking for visitors after 6. Find a boyfriend/girlfriend in the area or stay single. :) One washer and dryer for 24 tenants. Oh and it broken... Almost always. That's pretty much it. Beside the parking for others and washer it's pretty great.
