About This Property
Lovely furnished Seattle craftsman home built in 1918 with many original features intact. Currently fully furnished - could consider renting empty, but tenant would have to pay for storage costs if we can't fit all furniture in the empty basement. The home has 4 bedrooms, a kitchen, a living room, dining room, library, and 2 full bathrooms. One of the bedrooms has also been used as a dedicated home office in the past. The bedrooms are set up as follows: the master with king size bed and other two with queen size beds. One is currently set up as home office with desk, desk chair, shelves, a 27 inch monitor (USB-C), Logitech webcam, mouse and keyboard (either Windows or Mac - as tenant prefers). The master bedroom on the 2nd floor also has an adjacent sitting room with French doors, which could quickly be changed into another bedroom with a twin size bed if desired. Access to that sitting room is through the master bedroom, though, it would only work for a child where parents don't mind the child entering through their master bedroom. There are two full bathrooms, the bath upstairs has a bathtub, sink and toilet, the bath on the main floor has a combined tub/shower and sink and toilet. Note that there is only 1 shower - which will make this home challenging for people looking to share a house who are on a similar daily schedule. The library is stocked up with books that tenants are welcome to enjoy while visiting. The home has a 1-car attached garage and enough space for a second car to be parked off-street on the property. Home will appeal to people who enjoy unique design and creative furnishings. Think of it as a 1920s eclectic home - turn of the century meets mid-century modern. Please note that there is traffic noise outside from a nearby freeway, but inside you won't notice it much (double pane windows). There are no close neighbors on either side of the home, the home is nestled into a wooded greenbelt. There is a private driveway leading up to the home (must be comfortable driving up a steep driveway), or ample unrestricted street parking. Additional details: Smoke free home. Central air conditioning (Lennox A/C) and heating (Lennox forced-air gas furnace). Sonos speaker in library. Living room has 50" Toshiba TV with Amazon Firestick. Two bedrooms have TVs with Amazon Firestick. Bring your own account to start streaming. Super fast internet Xfinity Gigabit Extra (1,200 Mbps downloads and 35 Mbps uploads, if you have the hardware that is capable of these speeds). Washer and dryer in basement. Tons of storage for bikes etc. in basement. The property is monitored by Simply Safe including exterior cameras. Rent fee includes quarterly house cleaning (floors, baths) and garden service. The neighborhood is very walkable with several coffee shops in short distance. Lake Union is 3 blocks away with parks alongside the lake with kayak and boat rentals. People who love to be active can run or bike around Lake Union - the full loop is 6.5 miles. You can walk to the Google South Lake Union office campus in 25min or to Amazon headquarters in 35. It's easy to jump on the freeway in any direction, North/South or toward East (Bellevue, Kirkland, Redmond). It would take 30 min to get to Microsoft campus, for example. Minimum lease 1 month. No smoking. No candle or incense burning. No subletting. Please keep home fragrance & perfume free (within reason). Monthly rent includes $500 allocation for utilities (electricity, gas, water/sewer, high-speed internet, security system)- tenant pays excess if usage exceeds $500 per month. * Currently occupied. Earliest move-in date is December 18, 2023 (or later).

Yes, it's called Capitol Hill -- but it isn't the capitol and there's no capitol building. So how did this Seattle neighborhood get its name? Back around 1900, a real estate developer renamed the burgeoning community from "Broadway Hill" to "Capitol Hill" because he wanted the capitol to be moved from Olympia to Seattle. That never happened, and the quirky neighborhood kept its new quirky name. Capitol Hill is the neighborhood for those who love nightlife. As Seattle's premier place to party, Capitol Hill is home to coffee houses, taverns, bars, nightclubs, and theaters.
Home to artists and musicians, Capitol Hill features a variety of festivals and events throughout the year, and it is home to the Capitol Hill Arts District. College students also find their way to the Hill, which is home to Seattle Central College and is just south of the University of Washington.
