The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

About the Listing Agent
Michael Kern
RE/MAX Ascension
Hailing from Galveston Island on the Texas coast, I grew up enjoying all the activities island life had to offer from the beaches to the bays. At 20 years old I decided to pursue a career in law enforcement and became a Texas Peace Officer at 21 years old. As thrilling as law enforcement was, and the many stories I could tell, the entrepreneurial spark began to grow within me. Real estate to be specific. In 2006 I earned my real estate license while still living in the Galveston area, where I primarily represented waterfront and beach style homes as a new agent. In 2010 my wife and I relocated to Austin after purchasing a small business in the Lake Travis area which operated on, and around the local lakes. Four years later we purchased a second business on Lake Travis that had been in operation for almost 20 years. During those times my real estate career took on a part time roll since moving to a new city, owning two businesses, and having to reestablish myself in the Austin real estate market. In the unique summer of 2020 we sold our larger company after 6 years of ownership, which ignited my real estate career. Since focusing on real estate full time I opened REMAX Ascension as Broker & Owner, and have earned the CLHMS designation which stands for Certified Luxury Home Marketing Specialist and achieving GUILD recognition within the CLHMS network by representing some of the top luxury properties and large acreage land deals in the area. On a personal level, I pride myself as being a family man above all else. My wife and I have two amazing kids. We are very involved in the Lake Travis Youth Association as coaches, and volunteer as often as possible for opportunities at the school. We enjoy the lake lifestyle, traveling to the coast, and just taking in quality family time with a good movie or pizza night. I look forward to the opportunity to work with you.
