About This Property
(860) 233-5000 - The Warrenton Home - Welcome to the Turret house. The first thing you will notice is the open front porch and turret. The turret is the “silo like” tower that is just one example of the endless character and classic architectural features that this home offers. This house was built around 1900 and for the most part, almost all the charm remains. The builder back then had to be one of the most accomplished in his time. The trim, finishes, and layout of this house is special and walking through you can feel the history and dedication to the craft. They don’t make houses like this anymore. There are 9 foot canvas ceilings, marble fireplace, customs radiator covers, original crown molding carved into the wall, pocket doors. Even just the trim around the doors and railings is like nothing you would be able to find today. As you walk in from the front porch you enter into the foyer. The biggest thing that stands out is the open common areas. Like most houses in this period, they have spacious and welcoming buffer spaces between the rooms you live in. The second floor landing is another great example of this. You walk up the stairs and its like grand central between the four bedrooms and bathroom off this area. The oversized windows allow lots of natural light. The living room and dining room are separated by the original paneled pocket door. The kitchen has a new parquet wood floor and is in the back of the house. There is a dishwasher and some newer appliances. The third floor offers another two rooms. One of which could make a great upstairs TV room or den, and the other could be a guest bedroom. The space in this house is really maximized. Outside there is a two car garage, an area for a garden, and a very deep lot. The location is a minute from the Sisson entrance which makes it a very convenient location to quickly get to Hartford. The house is located in the historic West End. Popular places like Mo’s midtown for breakfast or Tisane for tea are within walking distance. The house has natural gas heat and hot water and newer vinyl high efficiency windows. The tenant will be responsible for paying for heat, hot water, electric, and water. The tenant will also be responsible for lawn care and snow removal, which is typical for a house rental. We do have a thorough application process with a background check, credit check, and employment and income verification. Pets would be considered on a case by case basis. One month security deposit with a strong application. One of the nicest houses on the street and a terrific neighbor is right next door! Thanks for considering our house. Please let me know if I can answer anymore questions. Anthony (RLNE4539726) Pet policies: Small Dogs Allowed, Cats Allowed, Large Dogs Allowed.
