Buffalo’s Forest neighborhood is a large community on the Niagara River, about ten minutes north of Downtown. Charming homes and historic buildings dominate the landscape, with a few small cafes and bars providing popular hangouts for the locals.
For more diverse fare, Elmwood Avenue features a terrific selection of restaurants and coffeehouses and the Elmwood Plaza shopping center is just a few minutes to the north. SUNY Buffalo State sits on the northeast side of the community, making it an excellent location for students, faculty, and staff to find housing.
The neighborhood is only a few blocks north of the Peace Bridge to Canada, and a day trip to Unity Island provides great views across the border to Fort Erie.
