Property Ratings at 1401-1409 Superior Ave.
The location of this property is fantastic. The inside of the updated apartments are very modern with new appliances. The actual building itself from the outside could use some cleaning and updating. The upkeep of the apartment complex is alright. The apartments that are not updated, feel like you've stepped back into the 90s. Old floor, old appliances and just smell weird. The property management has had lots of turnover. The people who run this place, seem to have no idea how to get anything done. I don't think they could point to the ocean from this building. The maintenance crews they hire are clearly the cheapest and it shows in the understanding of any appliances they try to fix. They never do it right the first time, or just dont do it at all. They management do not follow up, or stay on top of any requests you submit. This is a primary reason I would not suggest living here -- because of the folks who manage the property.
These are the slums of Newport Beach. The building itself is so old they are just putting Band-Aids on the problems, it's the cheapest repairs, no luxury amenities at all. Save yourself the headache of parking, raising rents, bad maintenance and horrible staff. Termite and mold infested. I lived there for 7 years and they never would replace my carpet even with the new management. Then they try to charge me for replacing the carpet after normal wear and tear after 7 years!They will nickel and dime you they just got more expensive for nothing. If you wanna have to deal with bad lighting at night, drug dealers, dog crap smelling, cars getting broken into regularly, faulty pipes go there. So glad to have left.
