About This Property

This property has a lot going for it. First, the location is great--just a few blocks from Liberty Park, near downtown Salt Lake City. Second, of course, is the huge yard--which is extremely hard to find anywhere in town. And then there's the Victorian charm of the original architecture of course... the tall ceilings... the original plank wood floors, the large windows with original Victorian mouldings... the fireplace... the original doors and door hardware. But, of course, 130 yr old houses aren't for everyone. And neither is gardening. Older houses tend to be a little crooked, a little creaky, a little drafty. And some people are just better suited to apartment complexes or more modern houses than vintage houses. Owner is generally pet friendly but of course that's always going to be case by case. A cat or two is generally not a problem in the upstairs or downstairs unit--OR a quiet, small to medium sized dog (under 50 lbs) in the downstairs unit.... But not a combination of multiple animals. This is a home for rent... not a zoo or a shelter. The pet deposit varies depending on size, type, and number of pets. Tenant is required to maintain the yard / gardens / landscaping... so I will not rent to anyone who is not a serious gardener / homesteader. (Must be able to verify this the same way you would verify a job, income, rental history, etc.) Facts are easy enough to establish. If you are just "interested" in gardening... or just own a few house plants... that's not going to be enough. And if you are not sure what homesteading is... g@@gle it. This place has apricot, apple, cherry, peach, and pear trees... hops and grapes... tons of roses and other perennials, and 1/4 acre of good dirt. There's space for chickens if that's your thing. Raised beds. Etc. It's a lifestyle. And it takes a lot of love and energy to keep up with it. This listing is for the downstairs apartment only... the upstairs is a completely separate unit.
