About 116 11th Ave E Seattle, WA 98102
THE BUILDING: The Broadway Plaza Condominiums are well known as being one of the best built, most spacious, and intelligently designed Capitol Hill condominiums. The building is located on 11th Avenue East on Capitol Hill, 2 blocks east of Broadway, in the middle of the block on the east side of the street between between John and Denny. It is ½ block from Cal Anderson Park, and 2 blocks from the Capitol Hill Light Rail Station. The building has only 18 units on four floors, is modern and impeccably maintained. There is a large, bright atrium and interior plant area in the hallway on the floor to the unit, which no other floor has. This unit is on the northwest corner of the fourth floor and faces south with views of the neighborhood and city. The condominium has almost no walls common with neighbors. There is secured underground parking with a large, individual, fully enclosed storage room adjacent to and for each parking stall. THE UNIT: Where to begin? The condominium is located on a quiet residential street in the most convenient part of Capitol Hill and is close to Broadway. This 4th floor corner unit has 180 degree exposure to the west with ample southern and northern exposure as well. The natural lighting into the unit is exceptional. Cal Anderson Park, (which is ½ block away), the Space Needle, parts of First Hill, the downtown skyline, and the Olympic Mountains are visible from an over-sized deck off the living and dining rooms. A full size (i.e. free standing, not-stacking), washer and dryer are in the unit. The open-style kitchen has a side-by-side refrigerator/freezer with an ice-maker, trash compactor, microwave, dishwasher, and double wide sink. All appliances are top-line GE. The kitchen counter has a bar stool area facing into the dining room. Both bedrooms are ample size, the master bathroom is spacious with a stall shower, and the guest bathroom has a Jacuzzi tub. The unit has lots of windows and five (!) closets. Only a small portion of the kitchen and dining room shares a common wall with the adjacent neighbor. By minimizing common walls the home was designed to be as quiet as possible. Rent includes parking, water, garbage, and sewer. There is also a security/fire alarm system. Yes, it's called Capitol Hill -- but it isn't the capitol and there's no capitol building. So how did this Seattle neighborhood get its name? Back around 1900, a real estate developer renamed the burgeoning community from "Broadway Hill" to "Capitol Hill" because he wanted the capitol to be moved from Olympia to Seattle. That never happened, and the quirky neighborhood kept its new quirky name. Capitol Hill is the neighborhood for those who love nightlife. As Seattle's premier place to party, Capitol Hill is home to coffee houses, taverns, bars, nightclubs, and theaters.
Home to artists and musicians, Capitol Hill features a variety of festivals and events throughout the year, and it is home to the Capitol Hill Arts District. College students also find their way to the Hill, which is home to Seattle Central College and is just south of the University of Washington.
