The Neighborhood
The Mission is our favorite neighborhood in San Francisco. It has a vibrant street life, is rich with culture, is home to some of the best restaurants in the Bay Area, and is home to many families. At the end of our block is a late-night convenience store stocked with all the basic necessities as well as plenty of nice wine and beer. At the other end of our block is El Farolita, which is one of the top 10 famous taquerias in San Francisco -- it’s also open until 2am if you need a late night bite. Within 2 blocks of our house are multiple grocery stores, Philz Coffee (best coffee ever), Flour+Water (renown pizzeria), Dynamo Donut (famous donut shop), Humphrey Slocombe (one of a kind ice cream parlor), Bon Nene (modern Japanese cuisine with a French spin), The Spice Jar (California style Eastern dishes), Haus Coffee (a sleek, ultra quiet coffee shop great for working), Sidewalk Juice (dozens of smoothies/juices), and Wise Sons Deli (famous traditional Jewish eats). We’re rated at 99/100 for walking, 82/100 for public transportation, and 100/100 for biking. This means that daily errands are all accomplishable by walking or biking. We’re a 10 minute walk to 24th Street Bart station and about a 25 minute walk to Dolores Park. Within 2 blocks of us are multiple taquerias, grocery stores, coffee shops, and fine dining spots.
