Laurel Island is a private island located on Lake Pocotopaug in East Hampton, CT. The Island is home to a large main lodge and five guesthouses, all within an easy stroll of one another, yet distinctly private. Each house has its own dock and one waterfront deck. Quaint and rustic, the main lodge and each cottage boast water, electricity, and other facilities. The Lodge has both indoor and outdoor meeting spaces perfect for large gatherings such as a family reunion, retreat, or even a wedding. It faces the southern part of the lake and has a great room (38 x 80 feet) with a cathedral ceiling, a floor-to-ceiling brick fireplace, a full kitchen, and a large, waterfront deck. There is space to sleep more than 30 people on the Island in five guesthouses: A-Frame, Bay, Chalet, Deck House, and the Captain's Cabin- which sit on the edges of the Island. Each has plenty of windows, its own dock, and at least one waterfront deck to enjoy the view. The guesthouses are within an easy stroll of one another, yet distinctly private. And each has water, electricity and a small kitchen. The recreational opportunities of the lake are endless: canoeing, kayaking, swimming, water skiing, and more. On the Island are volleyball, badminton, bocce ball, horseshoes, croquet, and other land sports. There is a large grassy field ideal for group activities such as yoga or meditation. In addition, each cabin comes with a rowboat. And a public park is only 400 yards away.
