Oshkosh gets very cold and snowy in the winters. This is largely due to lake effect snow from the Great Lakes. Because most of the snow is lake effect snow, it usually doesn't stay on the ground for long, but it shows up quite often during the winter. There are also some genuine freezing cold fronts that bring lasting snow with them that come down from Canada.
Summers are warm, but not hot, and very pleasant. Spring and fall are cool, with some rain, but plenty of sun, as well. The leaves change color during the fall, which provides for a nice change of scenery for the overall area.
