Once you've had your fill to eat and drink, take in the historical sites like the Brewery District, where you can see the production facilities that have rolled out countless barrels of beer since the foundation of the city in 1788. Tours let you see the old cellars and passageways, where you can imagine the life of owners and workers from centuries past. Head west to Findlay Market, the state's oldest open-air market, to buy everything from Ohio-raised eggs to scarves or homemade jam.

      With a large contingent of new restaurants popping up each year in the Queen City, there's always a new restaurant on everyone's tongue. No matter where you go, however, there's the fiercest debate about the best chili site. You can try the fast-food chili restaurants for a quick fix, but for a real city delicacy try Pleasant Ridge Chili, largely considered the finest in the entire city. Those who want more meat in their diet can swing by Terry's Turf Club for some of the biggest and best hamburgers in the tri-state area, including the monster filet mignon burger. Finally, try the city's specialty pork dish, goetta, a sausage with oats and spices.

      Like any major city, Cincinnatians love their professional sports teams, even if they haven't had much success any time in the past few decades. The NFL's Bengals recently made the playoffs behind the great season of quarterback Andy Dalton, prompting black-and-orange-clad fans to flock to Paul Brown Stadium. During summer time, MLB's Reds often play to sold-out crowds at the Great American Ballpark, with the city abuzz about top slugger Adam Dunn. Although pro sports are a huge draw, they take second place to the annual Cross-town Shootout between the basketball teams of University of Cincinnati and Xavier University, with bragging rights for each team and fanbase dictated each year.

      You can find plenty of great options for buying everything from clothes to books to exotic meals in the Queen City. Across the river from downtown lies Newport on the Levee, where dozens of stores compete with a movie theater, comedy club, arcade and aquarium for the attention (and dollars) of shoppers. If you want to cast aside your usual grocery shopping routine, drive up to Jungle Jims to see all the foods of the world in one place: a shopping center that's the size of a mall, filled with sights like live fish pulled from river and ocean, meats imported from Africa and Asia, a room devoted to hot sauces, and a wine cellar that has bottles retailing for as much as $5000.

      Nightlife in Cincinnati, OH

      Hitting the town in Cincinnati always provides plenty of memorable moments. Local and national live band acts can be seen at the Thompson House, which has four different bars and can accompany hundreds of viewers. Neon's Unplugged is one of the best sites in the city for live shows as well as trivia nights, and is famous for their giant Jenga statue outdoors (that becomes much more difficult to assemble after a few of their specialty drinks).
