If you are looking for a decent place to live, do not take one look at The Point at Silver Spring. This place is infested with roaches! Please look at other other places in the area. They are a lot nicer and most importantly don't have a pest problem. I will be getting out of here soon but not soon enough in my opinion. If you don't believe me about the roach problem, you can look up the many code violations this property has had since 1997 on the Montgomery County Public Health website.

Rated 1 out of 5?by Serena Initially Pleasant, but Extremely Disorganized
Please stay away from this complex. They initially come off as professional and organized. Please do not be fooled. I will start off with the pros. Pros: The Point is near the metro and shopping center. The location is extremely convenient. Cons: There is a high level of disorganization in management. 1. After living here for 3 months, I still did not receive my lease signed. You have to essentially harass them to do their job. 2. In February, I received a notice stating that I did not pay my rent since December from the District Court of Maryland for Montgomery County. I did not receive a notice before that embarrassing note was posted on my door stating that I have not paid in months. After calling the accounting department and discussing the dates that the money was withdrawn from my account, I received an apology and was told that the charge was dismissed. As a result, I decided to leave the building complex because I no longer want to deal with them. I am not being told that I cannot in that short of a notice and that I have to give them a 60 day notice. If not, I have to pay the 60 days regardless if I am there or not. I am now trying to discuss with them to change that since they made an error. Hopefully I do not have to consult a lawyer. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS COMPLEX. Trust the multiple reviews. I wish I did.

Rated 5 out of 5?by kitty264 I am very pleased.
I moved in with ease. They have a new online application, you can pay for the application and apply online instead of having to go back in to drop everything off. Made it simple and I was sold from there. I've been here for a couple months. Can't wait for the new courtyard to open. I do wish the garage was finished but that will be soon too. The staff have been friendly.

Rated 4 out of 5?by Rach327 Great Location!
We just moved into The Point a few week ago. We put in application in February, moved in April. We worked mainly with Charity in the leasing office, but also talked with Beatrice. Everyone we spoke with was always friendly, helpful, and willing to answer our millions of questions. Our move in was pretty easy except that our building passes didn't activate right away so we needed to prop a door open and our moving van was too tall so we had to push everything a little further. The apartment itself is great. We got a renovated model and the kitchen is spacious with a fridge that I don't think we'll ever fill. All appliances are in working order. We did call maintenance to fix a door that was sticking and they fixed it within 24 hrs and offered to check on anything else while they were there. We haven't had any noisy neighbors or disturbances. The concierge is always friendly and has answers for most things. The location is perfect for restaurants and the metro. Can only think of good things to say about this place!

Rated 2 out of 5?by DTSS'ers Looks can be deceiving
The Georgian (now The Pointe) is a nice looking community with decent amenities (when they work) but has continued to decline in quality and service. And changing the name doesn't mask the problems in the community. In particular, the staff (esp maintenance) are often unhelpful. It's very hit or miss and completely depends on who you talk to. Some are extremely helpful while others are downright rude or literally ignore resident needs. There's also tons of turnover with both staff and residents...not a good thing!
It looks nice on the surface but there are much nicer places with better service in the same area. You've been warned.
