I would not recommend this apartment to anyone if you aren't accustomed to noisy tenants. Also, remember that your in a years lease and if you have a neighbor that makes a lot of noise you are out of luck because the management doesn't seem to address the problem. There is no expectation of quiet and common courtesy to the lower tenant while the upper tenant gets the benefit of a quiet residence. We have only been here a while and ready to move out. Love the location and the townhouse feel but that is about it.

I currently live here. Had an awesome one bedroom facing the preserve. Wanted a bigger place so we moved into a two bedroom partially facing the preserve/lake. The entire place is VERY quiet and awesome. The parking people complain of -- I've never had a problem with it in my building before or my currently building. The management and staff is amazingly nice and throw great community events. They keep the grounds immaculate! I've lived here now going on two years. My next move will be to a house when we are ready for it. Otherwise, I'm staying here. After living in several apartments in Florida this one has the best amenities to offer, modern apartments, etc. Price is great! People say you can live in South Tampa for this price and sure they are right but they won't get the same quality of building as well as the silence and privacy as this place.

Rated 5 out of 5?by Rick and Carol Altis at Grand Cypress is Beyond Comparison
We have lived in a townhouse in Treasure Island, FL; lived in a house 2800 sf house in Largo for 8 years and rented an apartment in Clearwater for one year. We have lived at Cypress since May and couldn't be happier. It is the quietest place we have lived, with the most convenience to stores. The amenities are incomparable in our opinion and compare to the new high end house we lived in in Largo. The views are superb. The carpet is superior to any apartment. Our daughter visited and raved about the difference in carpet between her apartment and ours. As with the reviewer who commented "this feels like home" we agree. As for noise we had much more noise in our big house from all sides. If you want super quiet become a Benedictine monk over at St. Leo's. We may hear a little noise a few times a week, but these are apartments with common walls. All-in-all, we couldn't be happier. If you are considering moving here we highly recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5?by Lucy We love it here!
We moved here recently from another apartment complex. We have a downstairs apartment and really don't hear any noise unless it is a loud one, and then, it is very muffled. Love the wood floors and appliances.. dishwasher is so quiet. we have to check to see if it is running! I don't understand the "noise" problem that others have referred to. if they came from where I just lived...this is so much better construction-wise. The inside walls are not as insulated as the outside walls, but that is typical even in homes. We LOVE our home here and the staff is the greatest!!!! This is clean and nice and for an apartment...wonderful! I feel like it is my "home." By the way..my rent was going up to the same as I am now paying here, with no upgrades..no insulation and a serious parking problem and a serious mold problem. I am thankful that we came and looked and that we now live here..very happy!!!!!

If you're interested in living in a place with thin walls, small rooms, and high prices.... Choose this place! The layouts do not provide enough space. We were in Seneca and had twice as much room in their 1 bedroom then we do here. Yes it's nice having a yard right out front to have a condo-sort-of-feel.... But it's not worth it and I'm regretting my decision to move here. Our price was going up by $50 at Seneca, and I was too cheap to stay so we moved here...... What I wouldn't give to go back.
The noise here is obviously as issue, and I thought it was just my neighbors but after reading other complaints and talking to neighbors, it's really just a poor build. When I lived at Seneca, I NEVER heard my neighbors.....never!
With the poor build, for the same square footage as Seneca, this place is a tuna can! I couldn't even bring half the stuff with me in this place. To mention to biggest difference, I'm now missing a dining room and a bonus room/porch.....and I'm paying the same price!! And it's the same square footage!! How does that work??
Office staff is great, and very likable- but that's the only thing they've got going for them. :/

I live here and i must say the person who wrote the 1st review didn't lie. Parking is a problem for me and when u have very loud neighbor you can not wait to move out. Its a "gated" community but the gates are always open.I agree that for this money u can live in South Tampa or somewhere else.

Rated 4 out of 5?by Ruth In response to the noise
I have lived here from the middle of October, 2012. I do agree there is an issue with sound traveling up. I have an upstairs unit. What no one has mentioned in the posts is that your neighbor's downstairs wall is actually your stairwell going up into your apt. That is the same wall where TVs can be hung downstairs. There is no sound barrier! If the renter below has their TV on medium to loud, the sound travels up! Talking/laughing can be heard; and especially if people are outside in the middle of the night (which has happened quite a few times). Even though the windows are double, you can hear clear enough to be woken up out of a dead sleep. Also, other interactions between two people can be heard...if you know what I mean.
If I would have known sound would be an issue, I would have chosen a downstairs unit, and hopefully the sound wouldn't have traveled down. Others I have talked with also complained of day-to-day "noise" that comes through. I honestly don't think most apartments are like that!
I do love the location, the peacefulness, the views, the ability to feel safe, the quality of the kitchen, the high ceilings, etc.
I do agree that parking near the most occupied buildings is tough. But I didn't have that problem. In regards to the garages, I had chosen a wider one before moving in. However, another staff member promised that one to someone else. I had to take a more narrow one. They are DEFINITELY not wide enough to easily drive into and out of. I don't have a wide vehicle, so it shouldn't have been an issue. But it was. All garages should have been at least 1.5 wide. It was no fun barely moving in and out, always worried you'd hit the entrance and having to watch out for speeding by vehicles as I backed out.
The staff was always friendly and I never had a maintenance issue (I shouldn't have since the apt. was brand new). If I were to ever move back, I'd need to think long and hard about it.

I thought I would chime in to what the previous Reviews said. First off I live here, so I'm not sure why someone who doesn't live at Altis would have the time to write something about their visit. How can you rate maintenance, staff and amenities if you don't even live here? With regards to last review. I get it, you live in an apartment that shares walls with other apartments. I have lived in apartments for years and the noise is no different than any before. If you are that concerned you should be upset with your noisy neighbors...I moved in September and my experience has been very positive. I live in an upstairs apartment that has a beautiful view. I think the kitchen and bathroom are far superior to anything out there. The carpet as the previous person complained about is also much higher quality than the next community. It's a longer fiber so it's always plush, easy to clean. Amenity wise I go to the gym. It's quiet, clean and well equipped. The management team has been super accommodating. When I pick up my packages they ask me if there is anything I need, offer me an AC filter and I feel as if they have a genuine concern for my satisfaction. I mentioned a dripping faucet last time I went in and they were on it. In fact, when I was looking to move, the staff was a big reason I chose Altis. I think it's fair to state that some people should probably buy a home if they are that upset about noise. What do they expect the manager to do kick all their neighbors out? There is no pleasing some people. However I for one am completely satisfied and pleased with my decision. If you are looking for an apartment in North Tampa then it really can't be beat and trust me I have lived in a few.
