Property is in a good condition and well maintained. The customer service and contract work is painful. What they say and what they write is not same, continuously have to fight for it. Also, sent an invoice for parking which clearly states in the contract that it is included. Have left 5 messages and emails, no response and would not take calls.

Great location if you are a UC student. Apartments are huge and the amenities are great. The new Starbucks coffee machine has been amazing

I’ve lived here for 3 years straight now and plan to sign again for a fourth!
My son and I applied for him to take over a lease. there was no open application process, juts a specific process open for him to take over the lease. I paid 330 usd for the application fee to learn that Yugo Deacon does not accept a document for financial income from a person (me as cosigner) who is not from the USA. In 2020 they did accepted, but now 'the rules has changed'. They asked for a 12 month lease payment upfront. To be honest this was in my opinion an invention of the Manager at the time, as probably someone else wanted the room. I called her I spoke with her she agreed to refund the application fee if we decided not to proceed. We decided not to proceed. Now we have an open issue in refunding these 330 usd. We have still not received the refund and we need to fight to receive it apparently. Reaching anyone by phone is a lotarry. So international students be vary of scams.

First of all the pictures on this website are false advertising, that is not what the deacon looks like and most of its “amenities” have been closed all year including the pool, tanning beds, golf simulator, most of the arcade games. in the beginning of the year, their solution to flooding was to move uc students to a hotel in northern Kentucky, over 20 minutes from campus. They put up a sign in the lobby that tells you they are watching you and simply do not seem to respect their tenants at all. I hope they get a taste of reality one day.

Do not move in here they don’t care about handling are managing nobody ever answers they only care about collecting rent I don’t know how this is a new luxury building It already flooded they already have to deal with mold they’re pulling out new carpet not saying why and there’s a bug infestation because everyone is getting bit by the legs over there especially on the third floor area do not move in here

My son rented from the deacon. They told he and I they are set up for his coop program and he would not have to pay rent if he is not going to stay there during his coop semester. When it came down to giving them notice he was moving out due to his coop, they denied having promised this. However, they did because i spoke to them multiple times on this issue prior to signing the lease. Ultimately, they refused to attempt to release his space and threatened to take us to court if we did not pay rent when he was not living in his apartment during his coop. I do not believe they operate ethically. I also noticed every review here is 1 star yet the sight is displaying an avg rating of 4.5......odd

The building is horribly done, nothing like the picture. The staffs are very rude and unhelpful. There were a couple of break-ins and residents never really get noticed. It is an okay place, but definitely not worth the price at all.

Smoke detectors are always going off, when you ask why they have no idea. Cannot control its own residents and management only cares about the free room they get.

I've had a terrible experience living here. It was unfinished and dirty upon my move in, not even my apartment the whole building looked terrible and nothing like what was promised when I signed the lease. The management is terrible they overcharged me in rent for the first 6 months and charged late fee on top of it when it was them who messed up my payments. To this day I still have problems with the management. They make it hard to access the amenities we pay for and the rooms are sooo small for how much you pay a month. It is not worth a penny and its terrible living here almost like a prison. ALSO THE WINDOWS DONT OPEN!

Worst experience of my entire life living here. Security is terrible I got robbed two times in the matter of 10 minutes I called the police and the emergency deacon security but they never came the entire night. Room had mud and footprints when I moved in. Every picture on there website is false not of the amenities look like that. Please for the love of god do not live here. I am begging you all

I could probably write a 10 page review of all of the things that did not work when my daughter moved in. You can tell this was a rush job to get this property move-in ready. Walls were not primed, paint directly over dry wall, so if you want to hang anything with commando strips, it just pulls the paint off. Faucets not properly spec'd, if you try to wash your hands the faucet is so far back, the water just runs onto the counter. Roommate matching is a joke. My daughter and her friend are literally living with an older woman who works downtown Cincinnati. They literally have nothing in common. And the fire alarms are out of control. If there were a real fire in the building, the students would ignore it due to alarm fatigue. I would suggest camera's in the hallways near the alarms to catch whom ever is pulling them randomly, and if it is a technical issue, it should have been fixed months ago. The student staff who work there are very nice and helpful, which is really about the only great thing I can say about the apartments. At present not sure if I will be paying for an apartment there next year, especially if the room mate situation stays the same.

Wish I could give 0 stars. Just in the past week, fire alarms have gone off for no apparent reason in the middle of the night. Another review mentioned the fire alarms weren't even installed correctly. Construction debris all over the hallways with weed smells 24/7. Dealing with the co-op situation is impossible (tons of students choose UC because of the co-op). The Deacon, instead of subleasing like every other complex in Clifton, wants you to pay $500 (over half of your rent) every time it changes hands, which is twice per year. The front desk/administration seems more worried about social appeal than how their current residents are actually living. Will not be coming back here.

I moved my college aged daughter in on 8/19/19 as part of a housing agreement with the University of Cincinnati. Her bedroom window, which is street level at the back of an alley, was broken upon move in. Despite numerous calls to the apartment manager (none have been returned) and attempts at communication, the window has not been fixed nearly 2 months later. At this point, I have contacted both the university and the parent corporation of the Deacon for assistance. In a nutshell, management is not responsive to safety needs.
