YorkTowne Apartments

Apart from the fact that the front desk ladies are disrespectful, rude and unprofessional, the apartments themselves are a mess. There’s mold, rats, roaches, they don’t uphold to their lease terms and the quality is not worth the price. Just don’t waste your money or your time. I had high hopes for this place and I gave them the benefit of the doubt but with the gun shots, the trash everywhere and the disorganization, I hope no one else has to live there.

RUN!!!! You pay high cost in rent and all u get is having to lease appliances, rude front off, sorry property manager, AND THE WORST MAINTENANCE CREW EVER!!!!!!

The manager of this apartment is a jerk. My grandfather is a elder man just turned 70 to be exact with heart problems. November rent was paid with receipts to show it. January 11th comes and I checked the mailbox for him. Boom, he has an eviction notice for November’s rent which was paid in November and had about 10 hours to remove his stuff from the apartment. The apartment Manager was rude, she was not willing to go back and look over her mistakes. She was not willing to follow the CDC, Previously someone applied my rent onto someone else’s account which was another issue by itself. If I’m being honest with you, I think that’s where November’s rent is....on someone else’s account because we sure have receipts. I just would not recommend. Neighborhood full of dog poop, gun shots at night, loose dogs that just run the apartment complex free. Enter at your own risk & keep up with your rent that you pay because she will apply it to someone else’s account and will refuse to update it!

DO NOT MOVE HERE they are a RAT infested community. The maintenance is very lazy and they do half jobs. The office staff don’t do the job that they was hired to do . I’ve been living here for 3 months and it was the BIGGEST mistake of my life. I have had to call MULTIPLE times of the same issues and they still didn’t come out until the health inspector was called. They don’t clean up around trash cans like suppose to. They will cut the phones before closing and they’re VERY UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!

Manager & Staff Horrible !!!!! Nothing gets fixed properly. Not a caring staff at all. Trash outside all the time not getting cleaned up. No painting or fixing of the outside of the apartments like it should. The maintenance staff is very lazy. They do half job work. The manager Terry isn’t managing the property as a manager should. She claims to always be busy but when you go to the office. She’s just sitting at the desk. Not doing anything. If anyone calls her she never returns calls about complaints. Nothing gets done over here since this new management with Terry. She said things would get fixed up over here a year ago & nothing has been done. I would NOT RECOMMEND this place!!!!

This place is horrible!! There is so much illegal activity going on over here it's not even funny. Me and my husband along with a number of other residents had our apartment broken into by other residents!! And the apartment management did absolutely NOTHING! Our apartment got damage from a water leak and it took them 4 days to even respond! The pool is dirty, the apartment walls are paper thin, you can literally hear the neighbors turn over in their bed. Please save your time and money and find something better! Especially if you have kids!!. I wouldn't even rate this place as a 1 star but had to by default.

I’ve been here for 4 months now and have had no major complaints. The units are older so the creams and groans of the construction are kinda scary but other than that, it’s perfect. My only issue is Katie in the office, she ALWAYS seems to have an attitude or is having a bad day, my mom said she called to get a quote on an apartment and Katie was really off putting. She’s running prospective tenants AWAY!

i have had numerous of bad experiences here with up keep of this apt... from the air conditioning system nt working, hot water heater bursting and flooding my down stair... dish washer constantly nt working... hot water nt working... rain comes through the back door they have not fixed tht... they vinyl floors tht damages as soon as u walk on the floor or sit or move your furniture... this has bn the ultimately the worst experience ever... they want their money but they arent handling the maintenance.

First off these apartments are bed bug infested and they won’t do anything about it. I have called 3 times about a leak in my hallway bathroom upstairs that that has leaked down to my living room and went to the office and spoke with the office manager Terry about the leak and no one has yet to come address the problem. My air filter also has not been changed for a year and I reported that as well. It’s now almost 3 weeks later and still nothing has been fixed or changed. My apartment smells like mildew because of the leak and my kids and I have been sick with an upper respiratory infection for the past week. The office staff are very unprofessional and they are raising the rent again for these poorly maintained apartments. Needless to say I will not be renewing my lease and will get my children out of this unhealthy environment.

Renter Beware. This apartment complex will do whatever it takes to get you to rent form them. I was advised that I would get a credit multiple times for a referral. However the Apartment manager, Terry, has lied and played dumb along the way. I have filed a complaint with NC Attorney General and BBB. This complex will say that Maintence and pest control will be coming by your apartment- but they will never show up. I was on maternity leave for 8 weeks, not 1 time did anyone come to my home as promised. Between the recent break-ins and the leasing office who lies I WILL NOT BE RENEWING MY LEASE or referring anyone else to this company

The office staff is very friendly especially Ana. I would recommend this apartment because I have been staying here for three months now , and I haven't had one issue with my apartment. The neighborhood is very quiet and peaceful!!

Don't expect appliances within the apartment to be fixed in a timely manner. You would expect for things to be fixed in a week, but can take up to 1 or 2 months (including air conditioner/heater). There's definitely a lack of communication with the maintenance staff and front office. I've also noticed a couple of the previous reviews being positive, but you should be able to tell that they are paid positive reviews.

I feel very comfortable here. I have a nice view from the front of the apartment and a nice private back patio which is perfect for my cook outs and family relaxation. I like how the grounds are kept over the winter (snow). The private pool is well kept for family fun over the summer. The maintenance crew really takes care of business, they are on call 24/7 making sure they take care of residents. I've been living here for 14 years and there is still NO PLACE I RATHER BE. Its a relief from the pressures of city life. Yorktowne sits on a comfortable setting and the apartments are roomy and clean. The office personnel are of 1st class and has an outstanding and experienced maintenance team who is always ready for a quick response for tenant needs. Yorktowne is close to the expressways for rapid transportation. Yorktowne is excellent for family living and has private parking. Shopping needs are close by and schools are also near. If you're looking for a place that is well managed, beautiful apartments on a nice setting and affordable, this is the place to be. GREAT JOB miss TERRY and the rest of the crew !!!!!!!!.

The property managers before have been okay but Mrs. Terry is the best! She really listens to her residents, has no issue with correcting any troublesome tenants. I went to her with concerns of my own and debated on not renewing and within 3 weeks the issue was corrected and the neighborhood was back to peaceful and calm. Thank you for all you do Terri!

It's descent for the price. Convenient to stores and love that water is included

We love our home and the surrounding area it is a very quiet neighborhood especially because we have a family

Just an awful place to live. They try to foul you with good deals and decent square footage but the apartments are so cheaply made that everything breaks easily and ends up looking awful. The office staff is horrible! They all are very rude and not helpful! If you are stuck living here, my advice is to save copies of everything and make sure you get everything they say in writing because they will play stupid and screw you over. So glad to finally be out of these awful apartments!

I have had a nice experience with the community the office management is really friendly. Every time I put in a workorder for something to be fixed it's always resolved in a timely manner. I have never had a problem and my family I have been here for two years now!!!! I give it a thumbs up all the way!!

I have lived here 6 months and we fully regret moving here. The rent was cheap but ultimately our saftey is worth more. This area is very trashy, there are always suspicious drug activities going on and people messing with cars in the parking area. The apartment is spacious but has old appliances that are not energy efficient so your electric bill will be through the roof. The hallways are dirty and smell like trash and smoke. Maintenence was slow to respond to any of our needs as well as the leasing office. I would not have my family stay here alone at night for safety reasons. Can't wait to be out of here!! I read the reviews on this website before moving in and I should've listened, I hope you will save your time and money by leaving this place alone.

I am new to York Towne and I must say that I absolutely love my new home!!! The office staff has been so helpful in assisting me with my move-in process and getting me acclimated with the community. The maintenance team has been awesome with responding to my concerns and prompt with their response time. I definitely would recommend York Towne to anyone who is looking for a central location and a community/family style environment.

From the time I moved in I have had problems. I put in a complaint about my all in one washer/dryer (included with the apartment) the first month I moved in. The maintenance team said they fixed the problem. They did not because the dryer still wasn't working and now the washer wasn't spinning. I put in a complaint every month for 6 months till I finally gave up. It took the maintenance team 3 months to fix the electrical problems I had in the apartment as well. On top of that, when they said they were spraying for pest control they never came on the day they said they would. They would come a month later. The biggest problem I have is the water. My water heater broke in my apartment it took them an hour to come out and fix it. I had to move in to a hotel (which I paid for) for 4 days till they replaced the water heater and try to dry out the carpet. Also they keep turning off the water without giving us any notice. This is the third time this month they turned the water off and didn't give us a 24 hour notice. This has been the worst apartments I ever stayed in in my life. I wouldn't even till my worst enemy to live here. So don't waste your time too many problems. Overall I hated living here. The maintenance team is non-responsive, the management team don't know what they're doing and are very rude, and it is a complete waste of money.

Place is ok but we are looking to move this month.

Currently in the process of moving here, the apartment manager has made our moving process super smooth. All questions were answered in a timely manner.

My apartment complex, when I first got here, was great maintenance was always on top of everything management was always friendly and willing to work with tenants. My rent was EXTREMELY affordable!!.I'm going on my 3rd year here unfortunately there has been a change in management and all has went down hill since then and my rent is climbing every renewal and I honestly think it's not worth the price they are asking for . When my current lease is up I will be looking else where.

They take good care of their tenants. Never really had any issues, and they offer carpet cleaning when needed as well as free paint if you chip your walls.

i wish i could give negative stars. The new management team will literally let your apartment fall apart before coming to fix anything. The property manager Paula is catty and extremely disrespectful and doesn't care about her residents at all! The maintenance men come into your house with no warning even if you have asked for a phone call or only alone them when your there. The air quality is horrible , and the A/C systems go out all the time. And the corporate office is just as bad! Please do actually research before picking this place!

I've been living here for a few years now and they don't offer any help with the rent or any type of discounts towards the rent. It's a good quiet neighborhood to live in and I enjoy staying here.
