Property Ratings at Woodland Park
Today someone broke into my car and ran sacked all things. I first reported to management and they were immediately, offended and told me to report to police. This was my 3rd report. There were car tires thefts, home break ins etc. Many tenants complained and also created a discussion group. Many tenants left and yet Apartment management did nothing. They could atleast install cameras. Second major problem is Dog poop everywhere. I lived in this apartment for 3+ years and when i first rented, they boasted gated community with high rents. Now they are no more a gated community and rents are still high. Though apartment repair service is very good, but things such as plumbing issues hits very often. I would choose Monroe or Windsor than woodland. Management and maintenance has become worse.
We moved in recently and I liked these apartments. Our apartment had many issues when we first moved in but the management has resolved all those issues within a week. The maintenance team is the highlight at this community, they resolve any issues within 1-2 days. Its a great location, everything is nearby - grocery stores, movies, restaurants etc. The apartment complex has nice tennis courts and swimming pools. It has good walking trails and parks. I loved the gym & yoga room, they have all the basic equipment, good enough for most. There is a party room where you can work. Sometime, the wifi is not that good and it's too hot to sit here. There are two desktops which you can use for browsing and you can also print for free. The leasing office looked great with free coffee. The only con about this community is parking. There is limited parking. If you come late i.e. After 9 PM, you would likely need to park a bit far away. The guest parking needs passes, otherwise they'll get towed. There is no way to get guest parking pass when the leasing office is closed.
We lived here for 4 years and loved the community, gym and summer pool. There is lot of parking space and handyman available 24 by 7to fix any sort of Issue. Highly recommend.
I just moved in so the jury is still out on full rating but early returns on the apartment are good and the application and move-in process was great. I have not used any amenities yet. Aly S. gave me a tour of the facility and a couple apartments and she was a real pro, provided all the information I needed. Most importantly she (and others) responded quickly to emails and communicated clearly leading up to, and throughout the application process and lease signing. The apartment was very clean when I took possession and everything was in working order. Two small issues were resolved immediately. I have only been in a couple weeks, full-time only a couple days, but I really like the place.
staff doesn’t know what they’re doing, gates never work, annoying emails about irrelevant things all the time, rent way too high, easy to find something better close by.
The amenities are never available. They claim they have two pools but one hasn't been opened in years. The parking is terrible. I saw someone get hit by a uhaul. Lastly they never spray for bugs so it is terrible in the summer. Don't live here.
I moved from overseas and thought that it will be hard to do all the inquiries and transactions virtually. Sonam has been very straightforward and accommodating since day one. She provided me with all the information we needed. The move was smooth and stress free. We have been enjoying our stay here so far. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Definitely recommended!
I am a new resident at Woodland Park Apartments and thoroughly enjoy living here. Not only is the community well kept and the apartment I am renting gorgeous but the staff is Amazing!! They take pride in their work and really make sure they are meeting all of your needs. When I was initially searching for the apartment the leasing consultant took her time and gave me multiple options. All of my questions were answered and I never felt as If I was asking too many questions. My apartment was ready when I got there and I even received a follow up call to make sure my move in had went smoothly. I could go on and on about how kind everybody is at Woodland Park even down to the maintenance team. I love living here and I know that I made the right choice by choosing Woodland Park.

Just move in and I got myself a beautiful apartment! It was renovated recently and I love the granite in my kitchen and the layout of my home. The office was super friendly from the first time I stopped in to tour and has even reached out twice to see how my move in went and if I needed anything. No maintenance issues yet but they offer 24/7 maintenance. I see a lot of reviews mentioning the TV/ internet package they have but have had no issues and i am a "gamer". They also informed me Verizon will be the new provider for internet in a month or so. Very happy with my choice and love the location.
Not sure if any of you will find this helpful but, here's my experience: I am not a resident at Woodland park but I was considering becoming one. We had a very nice visit with an office staff member who gave us a tour of the model that was connected to the leasing office. I thought that it was weird that the staff member didn't show us the property or any "real" units. The sample apartment (the Hawthorne) was gorgeous. It was a little more than I wanted to spend but I didn't rule it out because I loved it so much. I emailed the staff member later that day to ask if it would be possible to come back to take a second tour around the property as I didn't feel comfortable renting if I hadn't seen an actual apartment. It has been THREE WEEKS and the staff member hasn't emailed me back after SEVERAL attempts to contact them. If this is how the staff treats you before you move in, how will they treat you after you move in? Even though the tech package (they make you get internet with Hotwire and TV with Direct TV) was cringey, I was still considering moving there after the tour. I'm not sure if I'm reading too much into this but why would the staff member ignore me only after I asked to see an actual home/tour the property? That was enough to scare me off. Not like I could have rented if I wanted to anyway because the staff member didn't call me back....

The new management doesn't deserve 1 star even. Its was a nice community to live. I lived here for 3 years and had to decide to move out of this community due to the new (mis)management. Internet & TV service is awful. Never got the promised speed. They mandated it with a single vendor who has got monopoly and doesn't even care about your pain and no intention bring up their service quality. Maintenance of the common area went to zero specially in the kids play area. Water clogging cause insects/mosquitos biting the kids. Even after so many complains no action has been taken. Gates were never fixed in the last 6 months (atleast). They don't even care to help you out rather they try every possibilities to rip you off with new imposed policies/mandates/penalties. The school rating also went down and I don't recommend to move in this community.(just wanted to mention - so far I recommended more than 10 families to live in here and now I no longer recommend them to stay).

I would definitely not recommend anyone to stay at this property. I am a former resident and I moved out more than 2 months ago and I have not received my security deposit back yet. Repeated attempts to contact someone in the leasing office does not get you anywhere. So far I have no explanation of what happened to my security deposit.
If you are a gamer, an IT professional or telecom employee, if you like to watch TV, or if you want to use your internet connection for anything besides getting email and paying your rent on Van Metre’s website, DO NOT RENT FROM VAN METRE WOODLAND PARK!!! This community’s property management has a monopolistic agreement with Hotwire Communications to provide digital TV and Internet service, and there are NO VIABLE ALTERNATIVES. Here are a few reasons why you should consider this a dealbreaker: 1. All residents pay a flat “Telecom Fee” which covers broadband internet and basic Satellite TV (DirecTV), whether they use it or not. A number of channel packages are offered, and DVR set-top-boxes and HD/Premium programming are available at an additional charge. 2. This broadband service is terminated at each apartment unit with a Tilgin Home Gateway router in a locked telco closet. Each Home gateway router runs a firewall that residents do not control, and a wireless AP broadcasting its SSID. Since no one can connect to these wireless APs (and who would want to?) they are encouraged to set up their own; consequently, there are an average of 40 APs per building in close proximity, all blaring away and interfering with each other. If you have a 5GHz router, you should be okay to get above the noise, but you will never get a public IP on the WAN side, because of the aforementioned firewall configuration. At best, you will have to set your wireless router up as a bridge. 3. Since residents have no say in the firewall configuration on their Tilgin Home Gateway, and cannot get a public IP address, they cannot perform even basic NAT/UPnP functions, like accessing their home computers from the office with remote desktop or VPN connections, or installing baby monitors/IP surveillance cameras in their unit that can be accessed securely over the Internet. 4. While the Satellite TV service is DirecTV branded, it is provided in bulk from Van Metre's contractor, Hotwire, over IP (ethernet). Because of this affiliate relationship and the firewalled IP delivery scheme, residents do not enjoy any of the features available to DirecTV subscribers who have their own dish and set-top-box, such as the ability to connect to and program their DVR from mobile devices. These are features that are included in your DirecTV pricing -you pay for them, but you cannot use them here. 5. The customer service from Hotwire is the worst I have ever experienced from a utility provider. They have a perpetual two-week backlog for premise visits (four-fifths of which they don’t even bother to show up for), and a chronic shortage of whatever refurbished, end-of-life DVR or set-top-box they happen to be deploying that month. I went through three HD DVR set top boxes in two years living here, because when one breaks, all they do is swap out the hard drive and give it to some other unsuspecting sucker. 6. Because of the TV-over-IP delivery scheme, the on screen guides are slower than molasses, and it takes no less than 20 minutes to boot up the set-top-box and “download” the program guide, every time you have to reset it (which happens very frequently here). 7. Because it’s satellite, you can forget about watching television when it’s raining, or snowing, or Thursday. DirecTV does an excellent job of downplaying the frequency of “rain fade” in their marketing -don’t buy it. It happens more often than you think, and it is extremely annoying. I would say that all of this could be easily avoided by simply eating Van Metre's basic “Telecom Fee” and contracting with your own TV/Broadband provider, but this is not an option, as Van Metre/Hotwire severed the coaxial infrastructure leading into their buildings, effectively blocking COX, Comcast, and Verizon from competing here. Furthermore, the leasing consultant I dealt with prior to signing LIED OUTRIGHT by telling me I could “shop around” for another provider if I was dissatisfied with Hotwire. Finally, on a completely unrelated note, parking here is in VERY SHORT SUPPLY. If you’re not home by 8PM, you WILL have to park three or four buildings away from your unit.
