Located at the tip of Lincoln Park and at the end of Lake Shore Drive, Edgewater developed during the late 1800s as a resort town for Chicago's prominent citizens. The gorgeous beaches that stretch along Lake Michigan in Edgewater still attract visitors, and its beautiful skyline of towering offices and apartment buildings house those who've discovered the endless charm of this historic neighborhoods.
Edgewater is about seven miles north of Downtown Chicago, stretched along the coast and offering gorgeous parks and hiking trails along the lake, in addition to the beaches. The neighborhood is home to the Bryn Mawr Historic District, fantastic restaurants, and a variety of locally-owned shops and businesses. Loyola University Chicago, considered one of the best universities in the world, borders Edgewater on the northeast corner. The Swedish American Museum, established in 1976, is one of the neighborhood's landmarks.

ROACHES CRIMINALS AND BAD MANAGEMENT
In my time living here I had my apartment sprayed for roaches countless times. My neighbor across the hall had to block his door off from the hallway because of all the mice he would get. Management told me no other apartments around me had roaches even though the infestation continued until I left. I kept my cabinets bare since they would run over everything. They were even in my MICROWAVE. I had to seal off gaps in the walls and cabinets myself to try and minimize the problem. They came in to address something & slapped some paint on my cabinets and called it a day. While I was living there there were countless security concerns this place is NOT safe. A man got stabbed to death and the same resident started a fire in the building in the time I lived there (I moved out 07/2023). Horrible old building with HUGE roaches, countless problems & unhelpful management. Plus they charge WAY too much and offer nothing. Anywhere is better than here.

Animal Farm!
While the landlords do the best they can and are great people, living at 6151 N. Winthrop is like having a mini zoo in your apartment. A zoo filled with roaches and mice. Despite keeping my place spotless, the roaches were relentless, and the mice would literally run across the floor in broad daylight. Winter, Spring, or fall, they found a home at 6151 N. Winthrop.
