The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Wheatland Hills
I’ve been living here for under a month so far and it’s been great. Every time I have a question or anything needs looked at or fixed, they are on top of it. Very nice area and the apartments are so cozy and clean!
I moved from NYC last year for a quieter lifestyle and found it here at Wheatland Hills. Everything is so close, and the complex has everything I need and want. Very close to highways to get on and off, the apartment complex has a lot to offer. The apartments feel like condos and not small apartments.
Since moving out to Lancaster I had issues with my living situations, coming to Wheatland Hills, I've only been met with kindness from all the staff. Speedy maintenance and a helpful office staff have made living here a pleasant experience.
I’ve been here a little over a year and have enjoyed my quiet and cozy place! The neighbors are nice and maintenance is great! Office staff are always friendly and helpfully whenever I’ve had any questions. They recently started adding fun events on Friday’s that are a nice way to end the week!
I love living at Wheatland Hills! The property management team is very responsive and professional, and the maintenance team has always been very prompt, responsive and respectful whenever I’ve had an issue in my unit. I especially love the dog park and the new community events we will be having this summer! The grounds are also very well kept and always look beautiful. There is access to a gym and community area which is wonderful to have. I gave a 4-star rating because I do just have one small critique. Some of the one-bedroom apartments are a little pricy compared to the other bigger units they have available. I would love to stay within the community, but I was told I would not be able to transfer my lease to a bigger unit until my current lease is up, even though on the website there are bigger units available. That is a small critique though. Otherwise I love Wheatland Hills!
The team here is very friendly and helpful. There are a lot of resident events upcoming that I'm looking forward to. The property looks well taken care of and while there are a few breed restrictions for dogs, pets are allowed which is nice.
The community and neighbors are mostly nice but that's the only good thing. I've lived here for a bit and they lie about so many things. Rent is always a few hundred more than it says on their website. Pets are allowed but if they don't like your breed you can't have it there. They will tell you that you've paid too much on rent one month and not enough the next. Never actually fix things that need fixed. The air conditioner was broken all summer and they came to fix it but it was never fixed. They will enter your apartment with and without notice at any time on any given day. They constantly try to tow vehicles for no reason. Very rude and disrespectful people working here. Nothing will get done unless you confront them about it in the leasing office. You have to pay twice your rent just to get out of your lease. Not a nice place to live.
Called to schedule a tour and the woman on the phone laughed at me when I asked if I could possibly tour today. Then was extremely disrespectful, and I’m pretty sure I was lied to about the pet policy since the website says pets are allowed but she told me they are not. Lazy workers, probably wouldn’t be on top of things if there were any issues. Glad I avoided it.
I live in these apartments for 1 year.In the second floor the air conditioner doesn’t work,in the summer I have 86/90 degrees inside and the manager says that my air conditioner works....I don’t think it’s possible to live in these conditions!!!!!
Although this situation is not disclosed in the lease, I learned that during the transitions between seasons, the heat is run by boiler. This means they turn the boiler on mid September and the AC doesn't work. Last year, we had 90 degree weather in September/October and there was no AC! They eventually turned the boiler off for a couple of days after many people complained. I am sensitive to heat, so if I had known about this situation that I would not be able to be comfortable in my apartment when seasons change, I would never have considered these apartments. The other situation here is that there are very large dogs allowed in the apartments and the owners are very lax with cleaning up these huge piles of dog pooh. At night while walking my small dog, I have stepped in them on more than one occasion.
Lived her for a year and was ready to get out way before that. Maintenance comes in without giving notice. In winter i had to shovel a spot from the parking lot to my side walk and than had to clear the sidewalk just so it was ok to walk. They did no salting what so ever. I even saw two people in the same area and still never saw any salt. Prices are way to high and you have to pay utilities such as water and sewer and electric. Moved into a bigger place for less money. Shop around. Wish we did.
We lived in Wheatland Hills for 9 years before moving out because of expanding our family. It's a beautiful place to live in, with awesome amenities like the gym, swimming pool, tennis courts, and children's playground. The office and maintenance staff are very friendly. We also had very good neighbors who have now become very good friends. Close to Park City Mall, grocery stores and the LGH health campus which was a great benefit for us. Loved the beautiful views of the trees and nature in all seasons.
My roommate had lived at Wheatland Hills for 5 years and I had lived there for over a year, until this summer. Beginning in late March/early April 2016, we had several sewage backflows and secondary flooding. Maintenance cleaned the bathroom and put a dehumidifier in to suck the flood waters out of our utility closet. When it happened again, less than a month later, we went to speak to management about being moved to a new unit or getting some sort of long-term fix. We were told, "because this isn't our fault, it isn't our responsibility." If there hadn't been extenuating circumstances impacting our ability to move immediately, we would have done so. A third sewage backflow occurred in early July 2016. At that point, we couldn't risk the health hazard any more and had to move out early, despite our original plans. We also found out from the County Health Department that the management should have had drywall torn out every time we had flooding to prevent mold growth. We had at least 3 associated floods with the sewage backflows, and that didn't happen once. We're pretty sure we had at least some mold growth because my roommate began having breathing problems within the last year, and she didn't associate it with the apartment until we learned about the drywall/mold requirement. I am concerned that the management probably just cleaned the unit it up and re-let it without bothering to fix the main issues, considering they wouldn't fix it while we were residents. Please be very careful before moving in here. That said, until that point, we were happy living there - maintenance was great (I only gave them 1 star because of the public health concern and that we had repeated sewage issues - that really ties back to the management refusing to authorize an actual fix of our apartment though). The units were older but it wasn't too bad. Neighbors were typically pretty quiet. Previous management was also great - it's the current manager I am concerned about.
I lived at Wheatland Hills for a little over one year and would not recommend living there due to the downsides I have detailed below. Our biggest issue was that at the end of our 12-month lease, we chose to stay on a month-to-month lease because we were buying a house shortly after the year-long lease ended. We were led to believe, by the fact that our first month’s rent was prorated and because a representative in the leasing office told us so, that our last month’s rent would be prorated. When it came time to finalize our moving plans we were given paperwork stating that it would not in fact be prorated despite the fact that our lease agreement was unclear in this regard. I spoke with several people in the leasing office who insisted that even if we had wanted to move out on the first day of the month, we would still owe the full month’s rent. They were condescending to us and were unwilling to work with us on this issue despite my insistence that we had not agreed to this and that we had specifically been led to believe otherwise. If you choose to live at Wheatland Hills, be aware that you should move out on the last day of the month in order to avoid paying for time that you aren’t living there. During every day of the 13 months we lived there, we could regularly hear conversations, footsteps, and stomping from the apartment above us, making silence in our apartment almost nonexistent. If you choose to live at Wheatland Hills, live in a top floor apartment for the sake of your sanity. During heavy rainstorms, one of our windows leaked a significant amount of water from the top of the window into the apartment. I called maintenance to fix it and they did come and patch up some spots on the wall, but the issue continued to occur. This occurred four times. Each of the first three times, they did a poor repair job (one time, they did not even ask me which part of the window was the problem and repaired the wrong part). The fourth time, I told the leasing office that I was fed up and maintenance spent the better part of a week trying to fix the window, but it still leaks during heavy storms. Other than this issue, maintenance generally resolved issues quickly and properly.
We are currently paying $925 for a 2 br 1 and a half bath apartment. Me and my wife have been here for going on 3 years. The rent goes up every year but no improvements are made. We are really just paying for location because we are close to the mall and all major highways. We have a 4 year old daughter and we are expecting a son at the end of November. We now have them both cramped in a room together, but in the long run we are going to have to move from this place. Only good thing is it has a community pool.
