Westwood offers spacious apartments in good quality condition . With the exception of air-conditioning equipment in some of the units majority of these units need to be replaced.

Overall view of the complex is nice sure. Once you talk with residents or look deeper Bugs, broken things, Management doesn't care even if he says he does. Won't fix anything and will hide from you if you go into the office. Facilities is the only person who cares. Bugs are painted over. List goes on. Definitely avoid can't wait for our lease to be up

While Westwood appears to be a pleasant apartment complex from the outside, the experience of moving in reveals that it doesn't meet initial expectations. The apartments are generally in poor condition, not achieving a thorough cleanliness upon move-in, and experiencing issues with several non-functional items.

We came to see these apartments in February, applied and were denied. It's the end of June and we haven't received back our security deposit yet. This is already turning into an impossible quest. Managers just ask us to call back and do nothing. The answer is always the same - we sent the check but it magically did not reach . Now. They are already trying to send it 3rd time. Think 1000 times before you apply here - you will get a headache and lose money. Compared to another apartments that we applied at the same time and got our refund in 10 days in the same month. From this one we have been waiting for 5 months and nothing ....

Moved in a little over 2 months ago, when we moved in we gave the leasing office a laundry list of items that were broken in the apartment. There is trash all over the premises, parking is a nightmare, 100% not a safe neighborhood, our neighbor was arrested for throwing rocks at people and fighting them, we feel so unsafe we have an alarm system on our apartment. Neighbors are loud and messy, people are always screaming and fighting kids skateboard all over and throw rocks in the pool there’s about 10 stray cats here. When we moved in our neighbor told us that the crackhead that lives a building over use to break into our unit when it was vacant and smoke in our apartment because they had cut her power. If I had the money to up and move right now I would. Don’t make the same mistake.
my apartment is attractive and decently sized. the new office personnel are wonderful. only cons are the mandatory valet trash service - i wish it were optional and i wish we could be refunded when it is skipped frequently. i also think the laundry rooms could use a few fans or a/c for in the summer time. but other than that, i am very happy with my living arrangements here at westwood

I lived here for three years and let me tell you this place has gone to the dumps. Parking is scarce, neighbors are loud, management is WORTHLESS. In three years they changed management teams 5 times, no one in the office is ever the same or ever willing to help when something needs to be fixed. Every six months rent and utilities go up, not to mention hot water gets shut off at random with no warning. Stay away, seriously.
Do not rent here if you are wanting to move in with other individuals. You will regret it. We have had nothing but issues with the forced 25$ trash service. It has led to cockroaches and bugs. It's a smoke-free community yet many units smell of weed when walking by and see cigarette butts all over the grounds.

For my first apartment Id say Im pretty lucky ! I really like the layout of my apartment, having 2 sun decks and a ton storage space is great. The community is also nice and quiet.
I really enjoyed living at Westwood apartments, lt has clean environment and apartments are clean. I like that it is a free smoke community.

So far Westwood has been great. Any maintenance issues were fixed promptly. The office staff are very approachable and friendly. Property is clean and well maintained. I love that there is an Amazon Hub for my packages, I dont have to worry about them sitting outside when Im not home.
they change management companies every year. they will add charges that you do not agree with like trash valet. Property has rats. They dont charge you individually for the water and water heating. its whatever the complex uses and the divide that up by the tenants. read the utilities addendum. If you don't notice while your there. When its time for that deposit. Think twice they are going to charge you hundreds.

We're sorry that you're unhappy with the value at Westwood Apartments. Residents do pay for water, sewer and trash. We use Valet Living trash collection on the property and it actually works out fairly nicely, if the residents remember to put their trash in a bag in the can provided. Just placing trash outside doesn't work. As for the water. You're incorrect about how the bills are divided. Individual meters was not an option when the property was built. ConService, the utility billing service we use, has an algorithm that factors in the square footage of the apartment and the number of people living in the apartment. Two people living in a one bedroom apartment would pay more than one person living in the same size. One person living in a two bedroom doesn't pay as must as two people living in a two bedroom. Very happy to have landed at Westwood! I moved to San Francisco in November 2019 for a job and due to the current situation I am working from home well into 2021 so I decided to get out of the main city area. I had applied online and called and spoke with 2 Codys and a Mihaela. They did everything they could to help me move in remotely. Been living here for almost 2 weeks and so far so good! Thank you!
Very nice apartment homes, plenty of square footage and nice layouts. Garden atmosphere and friendly neighbors. Almost always very quiet, relaxing, and peaceful for such a heavily populated area.
Been here two years and I love it here. They have so many options of places to live whether your single or have a family. I love the management and maintence team. They take care of any issues I’ve had very quickly and truly care. They installed new cameras, security to watch the area, everything and everyone has been amazing. It’s quiet and everyone is really nice. Great find!

Such a wonderful Place to live. Quite and people are nice and its peaceful and I never had problems upon living their. This property is very old and in extremely bad condition. This is what they call "rustic" in their description. About half of the roofs are leaking badly. Owner is not really willing to fix it, so manager can't do anything, just smile and increase the rent over and over, as his boss tells him. They do have a very nice office though. So don't let them fool you: behind the fancy office they have really old and ugly units. "24-hours fitness center" is a small dark, stinky room with 4 exercising machines, 2 of them are broken from time to time. The prices are unreasonably high.
This is a garden apartment. That is often promised but this is truly beautiful. There are , I believe, more than 100 apartments here, but each one has a tree, a flowering vine or other beautiful plant to view. Every place has a balcony, or , in some cases, two, or a large patio. My apartment has a thirty foot tall lemon tree. Each winter, there are lemons on it , some the size of baseballs, but still good tender fruit. Let me list some of the things that grow here: Roses, persimmon tree, jasmine, morning glories, gardenias, palm trees, redwood trees, grapefruit tree. The apartments themselves are large and scrupulously cared for.
Westwood apartments is a very safe community. The gates are always closed. The tenents are never loud and the animals that live here are so quiet. The management is professional and sincere. The only problem I would have is that the screens on the windows dont fit properly and the lock is broken. We were able to make a make-shift lock but I would rather have a working one. All in all this apartment complex may be in a bad neighborhood but you will feel safe behind those gates and it keeps clean and beautiful landscape.
Westwood has been a really great place to live. We have moved here twice now! The apartment manager is really great and obviously cares about the residents. The pool is amazing! Big and kept clean. The gym is a little outdated and the machines aren't the greatest, but that doesn't stop me from using it! I love my apartment. I have a loft style with all upgraded appliances. We've had a couple problems with the dishwasher, but they have always sent someone to fix it either that day or the day after. The complex is only about 7 minutes from American River College making my commute very easy! Really pleased with it here.
