Welcome to Denton, Texas, where historic architecture meets college-town energy. The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at Westwind Apartments
If I could give Westwind Apartments zero stars, I would. This was the first lease I had ever signed, (6 months), everything had gone smoothly until new management was introduced. We had gotten a couple noise complaints about our dog from the same neighbor, and the new management had escalated the issue very quickly without communicating with us to try and solve the issue. We had gotten a formal warning and were told to fix the issue, the next day I had confirmation with Elyssa that the problem was solved. About a week later, without any warning, we received a letter on our door to permanently remove our dog within the next 24 hours or we would be charged a $100.00 fine and would have the humane society remove our dog from inside our apartment. The next morning, we went to ask why we received the letter after we had been told that the issue was resolved, and immediately, Teah, told us that she was done with us. Word for word she told us that “either the dog needs to go, or y’all go.” I asked about moving out early, and she told me that if I moved out and turned my keys in within the next 48 hours, that we would not be charged the following month’s rent. Ms. Teah spoke to us like we were not capable of having an adult conversation, and when we asked her to speak to us like adults, she scolded us and told us not to tell her how to do her job, then threatened to make our decision to leave early an issue on our credit report and rental history. On our way out, she followed us out of her office to the front door and told us that we were young and immature and needed to grow up and live in the real world. I could not believe the way this management treated us and don’t know how they expect to keep residents when they handle business with no class. I would never recommend renting from this property.
Property Manager at Westwind Apartments, Responded To This Review
Thank you for taking time to leave us a review. We enforce the leases to make every resident comfortable in their dwelling. I understand there were numerous phone calls and lease violations and even a code violation issued from the City of Denton regarding certain violations of our lease contract. If you have further issues, please feel free to contact our corporate office at 817-640.3040. As always, we wish all of our former residents the best in their future endeavors.
I've lived here since March 28, so about 6 months. My apartment and the property are in overall good condition. Nothing crazy has happened here so far. I would recommend living here if you like being left alone. My only standing complaint is that if ever I'm running up against closing time of the office and I might be a min or few after, they are 100% inflexible. Most businesses I have dealt with will make an exception here and there to get your business if you're running late getting there. These people will only tell you no at every turn: they have to clock out exactly on time, no overtime ever, they refuse to do anything at all for you after they clock out, etc. So if you're running late getting home from work, tough cookies. Try again tomorrow. As long winded as that was, it is a minor issue as I can typically make it there on time for the usual reasons (paying water bill etc). I did have ants in the patio area, but conquered them mostly with amdro ant bait since I couldn't tell exactly where they were coming from. Probably isolated.
The maintenance guy has been there for over 20 years, so nothing is run down and he takes a lot of pride in his work. The office staff, though sometimes a little confused, are pretty good with answering questions. The manager is the best! Very thoughtful and understanding.
Westwind Apartment complex is the perfect complex for those who want a quiet complex, updated fixtures and appliances, and easy access to I35 and UNT. The buildings are older but apartments are being updated with new black appliances and fixtures. The staff is GREAT. I lived here for 5 years and am moving only because I have to relocate out of state for work. I cannot recommend Westwind strongly enough.
