Sioux Falls, South Dakota's largest city, showcases the natural beauty of the Big Sioux River and its cascading waterfalls at Falls Park. The downtown area features the city's namesake falls alongside local art galleries, shops, and restaurants. Housing choices include downtown apartments and established areas like McKennan Park, with its historic architecture and mature trees. The rental market remains steady, with one-bedroom apartments averaging $950 monthly, showing a 1.3% decrease from the previous year. The area near Augustana University and the southeastern district surrounding The Empire Mall offer additional rental opportunities.
Major employers Sanford Health and Avera Health contribute to the city's stable economy. Residents enjoy an extensive 29-mile recreational trail system, while the Washington Pavilion houses performing arts venues and an interactive science center.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at West Pointe Commons
The property itself was adequate, but the management practices were not. There’s a serious lack of continuity and follow-through, especially noticeable during move-out. Despite submitting detailed concerns, I only received partial responses and a final statement that didn’t match earlier communication. I also submitted this review to their own website, but it was never made public — only 4- and 5-star reviews appear to be displayed, which raises concerns about transparency and credibility. In addition to internal management issues, property maintenance is clearly neglected. There are buildings with missing exterior panels or damage that go unacknowledged for months or years, if addressed at all. The consistent turnover of property managers only makes the situation worse — each new manager lacks context or accountability for previous commitments, and it creates a fragmented, frustrating experience for tenants. Unfortunately, this reflects poorly on both the property and the broader management company. I would strongly advise future tenants to document everything and not rely on verbal assurances.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We absolutely agree that documenting communication is important, and we encourage residents to rely on written records rather than verbal agreements for clarity and accountability. Please feel free to reach out to our team directly at westpointemgr@cornerstonerent.com.
The management here is not only very rude but lazy and don't fix anything. the siding of these buildings are falling apart and never been fixed. there was a piece of metal off the roof banging for a week straight before they got to it. There are dogs that aren't leashed and poop on your lawn and management does nothing about it or even answer the phone half the time. The rent price is not worth living here. If you try to move out when lease is up and give proper notice they will not let you leave until it's convenient to them and they over charge you for it. I recommend looking for anything else but this place.

Not at all am I one to write a review, but to hopefully help anyone looking to rent this is not it. -Units are outdated -you’ll get them how they are left from previous renters -no communication -can’t get ahold of the front office -they force you to pay for internet regardless of your own plan -expect poor driveway additions and holes along curbing through out the compound -electric use to be great and they use to maintenance ac units now me along with others have to clean them or get a 300$ electric bill to keep the house 74° with unit running continuously. All around nothing has been good since cornerstone took over. For the last 3 years living here was great, now since new ownership has been a thing it’s trash- maintenance around the area is little to nothing, rents skyrocketed along with fees with no notice, terrible management along with no organization and 3 going on the 4th new property manager in one year should be enough to tell you no. I had put in a notice long before lease end and the prior manager got fired now to find out they magically don’t have documentation “it’s probably in a dumpster somewhere”was what I was told when I told them I had a notice with previous manager. They have no sympathy to correct it for the lack of organization on cornerstones part. Except after telling them you will be moving they send another offer to fix what you asked for before hand along with keeping previous rent amount after they try to charge you 200-300 more per month. Any review within the last year above one star is a cornerstone employee again should tell you no. Come move out day have an attorney handy cause they will not do anything correct and flex meanings behind lease terms.
The property was professionally managed by Lloyd but. Now, The new management turned everything upside down. Always increasing the rent and adding meaningless charges. Prices are now higher than the listings. Recently, they forced everyone to switch to their overpriced internet provider. I use high speed internet and special modem for my work. Now, I have settle for less speed, pay more and purchase their useless modem. Totally waste of time and money for no reason!!! The property now became unstable and overpriced. Not recommended for long terms especially if you have a family.
