Walker Ranch is a secluded community just outside San Antonio’s I-410 loop that offers a mix of gated community living and easily accessible conveniences. The neighborhood is just north of Vista Del Norte, meaning it too enjoys access to some of the best schools in suburban San Antonio.
The area encompasses a namesake gated community that gives its residents access to the highly-rated Silver Horn Golf Club. Outside of the secluded community, you’ll find a solid offering of local restaurants and chain eateries on Blanco Road. There are more options at neighboring shopping centers, but if you’re looking for nightlife you’ll need to venture into the city. Luckily the 410 and Highway 281 make the 14-mile drive a breeze.

The company has recently ran off all of the good employees. We miss Nadia and the old maintenance team. Now, the pools are always disgusting. The maintenance takes *forever*. and the gates never work. Seriously. It's been months. If you are searching for a new home, keep searching. I remember when I was proud to call Walker Ranch my home.

I’ve lived at Walker Ranch Apartments for 10 years now and I find it a very comfortable place to live. The office staff are friendly. The maintenance staff are prompt and friendly. It’s centrally located. If I had a beef it would be that the people with pets don’t always pick up after their dogs. Otherwise, great place.

We moved out recently due to job relocation but most likely would have moved out regardless at the end of our lease, as whatever is going on with neighboring tenants and management has just gotten increasingly worse over the past year. The staff and maintenance themselves are very nice, but otherwise the state of the complex itself is increasingly dirty and disorganized while the rent climbs higher, as compared to when we first moved in three years ago. Valet trash is unreliable and will just drag trash bags through the halls and sometimes just not take them out and/or leave them on the outside curbs in the middle of summer, so the buildings stink and trash is littered all over the hallways. There's dog poop EVERYWHERE in grassy areas and on the sidewalks, it is unavoidable at this point. Both pools went uncleaned for so long during this summer that they were green and filled with leaves. The fitness center was half constantly closed and half "soon to be 24 hours," for the entire time we were there. One of our newer neighbors had audible domestic incidents happening practically every month. When we moved out we were charged for anything possible and given vague reasons as to why; with the amount of other tenants we saw also moving out in the months before we did, management is losing money and doing whatever they can to make a cent back from any tenant that's getting out. Do yourself a favor and move in elsewhere.

Trash is everywhere, property management never responds in a timely manner, the pools are constantly out of service, roaches live rent free, poor ventilation, maintenance either does the job half way or just closes the request out. No pest control, trash valet drags the trash through the building so there is always cat litter, food, and garbage scattered through the apartment buildings. Worst experience ever.

Ive been living in Walker Ranch Apartment Homes for 3 years and really like them. I even recommended them to a friend and she & her husband moved here. The maintenance workers are knowledgeable and quick to respond to work orders.
Such a beautiful complex that I can call home. It really is more than just an apartment here. Its comfortable and cozy, the community is very active and polite. Its peaceful and quiet here. Just an overall great place to call home. Maintenance is very efficient. The office team is great. Definitely recommend!!!
I lived in my previous home for almost four years and would have stayed had I not needed another bedroom. Moving here was an excellent decision and I am very happy. Management is great, maintenance was on time and fixed the small issue I had and I am looking forward to this next year here.
Love living here. Great location s yet et off the main road. Grounds are maintained beautifully and staff is courteous. My place is quiet and calm.
We are impatiently waiting for our lease to end next Fall. At first glance, Walker Ranch Apts seemed like a nice quiet family oriented community. The neighbors are very nice and quiet. The office staff is attentive and friendly. HOWEVER, parking here at the complex is absolutely terrible. This is something we were not aware of before moving in, because we only visited the complex during the day when there is plenty of parking. Living here has made us not want to do anything after 6pm or else we will have to park 2-3 buildings away which results in a long walk from our car to the apartment. We signed a lease for a "renovated" apartment, but as the months go on we have started to notice the sloppy work that was done in our unit. The paint job throughout the entire apt is terrible. There are spots where we can still see the ugly beige under the grey color because they did not paint properly. Some caulking in the apt was done very sloppy and has so many gaps. The flooring in the restroom was not even glued all the way down in some areas. Renovations were very very poorly done. It is disappointing to notice all the flaws in this unit as the months go on. Also, one of the light fixtures in our unit was broken when we moved in. It took maintenance FOUR MONTHS to come in an fix it. It was left hanging during those four months until someone made it in.
Walker Ranch gives me a sense of security and a neighborhood home kind of feeling.
Walker Ranch Apartments provides comfortable spacing for an apartment complex that feels more like a home than just a transitional space. The staff is attentive, pleasant and courteous making all tasks feel as if we are personally cared for.
We love our space here at walker ranch, it is really great and the bad comments about them I think are false. Nice community, floor plans are excellent.
Walker Ranch is one of the best places to live at. The office staff always listens and helps in every way possible and the maintenace crew is great. I love it here.
It is a great community until you realize and here personally from staff that nothing has been done about parking in 15 years. This raises all the flags possible that the staff perhaps does not care about its tenants.
The staff is by far the best Ive ever experienced. The complex itself has clean, respectful tenants and I love living here. Like all apartments, these too have experienced wear and tear. I only have one issue with the toilet, which has been somewhat temporarily fixed as Im experiencing the issue again. Other than that, I love this complex.
My experience at Walker Ranch has been great and the price is amazing for all of the amenities included.
I searched all over San Antonio for the perfect community and just when I was about to give up I found Walker Ranch Apartments. I could not be more happy with Walker Ranch. With all the amazing amenities and community benefits it is a true blessing to call Walker Ranch Home!
I love the beautiful environment i love watching deer all around, so close to country living. I love the beauty of this community and what it offers! However i dont like how some tenants abuse the community by spreading dog poop everywhere, not disposing trash properly, not disposing recycling properly, speeding in community with no regard to children. I cant stress enough Walter Ranch is a beautiful community PLEASE dont allow tenants to destroy this Gem.
Very safe and friendly environment
Location is the best thing i can say about this apartment and the way the apartments are newer and the area being so quiet wonderful neighbors. But of course every place has some cons. Trying to move to another apartment in the complex is so difficult. Parking towards the front is crazy I had to get covered parking so I know I have a spot.
Do yourself a favor and do not move into these apartments!! Aside from being disgusting, these people will over charge you to death when you move out!! I have been charged with ridiculous charges and have been turned over to a collection agency. This is not the first time this has happened, apparently they do this to a lot of people when they move out. The worst apartment complex I have ever experienced. The location is great, but I'm sure there are much better and more respectable apartment complexes in the area. I have never been treated so badly by apartment complex personnel. Would not return phone calls to discuss the outrageous charges. Poor management, liars, and thieves. Unfortunately you have to give at least a one star rating, in my opinion they deserve zero.
We have just renewed our lease for a third year. Until now, we have been extremely satisfied but they recently switched to a new management company that is just frustrating! With 3 little kids who like to climb, we had used a netting to extend the railing on our second floor patio. They threatened us with a lease violation if it wasn't removed. We asked if there was something else we could do since we felt it was a safety issue. They had no ideas for us but reiterated that it had to come down. We took it down immediately. Several weeks later we received a violation for the state of our patio. It has 3 chairs, 2 toddler trikes, and a small play table. They said it needs to be cleaned or further action will be taken. We will definitely NOT be renewing our lease again!
This property has been good to us for the past year and half. Very quiet location and we are located close to the second pool which is awesome. I am very happy living in this complex.
