Mission at Medical Apartments

DO NOT LIVE HERE. There’s so many issues with the apartments from no hot water, mold, and roaches it’s terrible. It doesn’t matter how many maintenance request are made they won’t come to fix it. AND ITS NOT SAFE FOR KIDS. There’s so many drug deals that go on in the parking lot, I’ve even seen used needles on the ground and nobody does anything about it.

Been living here for 6 months and when I moved in, squatters left things here, I had no AC for 3 months and they didn't bother to fix it or give me a window AC, I have been having a roach problem since I moved in that they refuse to address. Someone was shot right outside my patio, they still haven't fixed the burned down building next to the children's play area. They never get back with you unless it's to harass you about rent.

let’s start off by saying the lady’s are rude, we hadn’t even moved in yet and the apartment was infested with roaches. they were coming out from under the carpet, out of the fireplace, in the refrigerator, JUST EVERYWHERE. they said they fixed everything and cleaned but they really just painted over everything, including the roaches. and their appliances are older than the alamo. false advertisement. do not waste your time, money or energy here.

They got us to move in on a “special”, we were living here a week before the 1st and had to pay full months rent. We had one burner on the stove, it took them a month to bring the rest. No hot water since moving in, ants and roach infestation. Just horrible living conditions!!! Not to mention they KNOW they have MOLD growing within the walls and don’t do a single thing to get rid of it!!

Worst apartment I ever lived in. No A/C since I moved in no hot water, ROACHES. My window had a rock throw in it broken glass everywhere they put plywood up and went about their day. Smh please save yourself the trouble. THRY DON'T CARE!

Don’t move here. I had one bedroom that would flood in front of front door and must of time lead into my living room. Never fixed. I asked to move to other 1 bedroom and no. Asked to move to other sister property. They said no. I moved out broke my lease. I wish I would know to go to court and it wouldn’t be on my credit

I’m gonna be fully honest here, I had a lot of hope and patience living here. This is the first time I’ve had to live alone in an apartment and I gotta say: I might’ve made the biggest mistake ever in signing a lease to this complex. First off, every day is a struggle, dealing with no hot water, constant bugs inside the apartment, trash everywhere outside and overall just hearing “we’ll get someone on that!” with no communication and no one actually stopping by to check on maintenance issues. I haven’t even lived here for a month and I’ve had bug infestations, no hot water, a patio with a broken door and no gate, curtains that don’t even work, a lack of security living here and work orders that never seem to get processed even though I am constantly told someone will come by. Even when they do, it’s a half assed job tied with a “I’ll come back later I need to get some tools” and then never showing up again. Sometimes I think that maybe I’m being too pessimistic, but it’s difficult not to be when every day you feel like “coming home” is not a comfortable thing to do. I keep being told things will get fixed but it just gets brushed to the side. I understand apartment complexes are busy but if me, as a newer resident, can’t even feel at home how can anyone else? I put up with it because I signed a lease, but every day I search and search online to figure out how to get out quicker. Do not bother at this place, you’re better off using your money for a company that will actually get things done for you. I am severely disappointed.

Do you like hot showers or showers at all? Do you like having a maintenance crew that promptly attends to your needs? Do you like swimming in a nice clean pool? Do you like have cold AC in the summer and heat in the winter? Do you like a sense of security when walking around your at night without having to use a flashlight? Do you like parking your car on a paved parking lot? Do you like seeing security around your community? Do you like not having prostitutes and drug dealers coming up to you and offering you their services? Do you like a actual working laundry facility on site? Do you like a management team that actually answers their phone and follows up on your concerns? Do you like a emergency maintenance service that actually answers after business hours? Do you like a management team that comes up with solutions and not excuses? WELL VISTA DEL REY IS NOT THE PLACE FOR YOU!!! Guaranteed.. 1. No security 2. Drug dealing neighbors 3. No hot water or water at all especially during the holidays 4. Ignored service orders for months 5. Excuses from management 6. Dangerous pot holes in parking lot 7. Laundry facilities that haven't worked since the freeze of 2021 8. Broken mailboxes 9. Dirty pools 10. No emergency phone service for security or maintenance 11. No ample lighting in the community for a sense of security 12. No water for weeks 13. No solutions

We have issues with plumbing practically every week. Right now we don't have water! The water pressure is so low it a trickle. It's been lime that for over a week. Easter we had no water! Thanksgiving, no water. The bill on the water has gone up which is hilarious because we hardly get any. We've had a couple of faucet leaks for over a year that have gotten worse and those work orders are ignored. They cut our carpet because of a ac leak they took 5 months to fix and never replaced it. We've never been late on our rent. DO NOT MOVE HERE! Thier score is 1.8 on Google and that's more than they deserve.

Do not move in here if you want to have a long list maintenance problems that won’t be fixed 4 months alter they rather fine you for bbqs then to fix your maintenance problems to be living in a functional apt!!

Like some of the other reviews mention this place has terrible management! The mail boxes have been broken for almost the entire 2 years we've been here! There has also been roaches in the building since we moved in! On top of that the water is always off or there's never any hot water but the water bill every month continues to be over $100! Mind you this is with them splitting the water bill with all the tenants in the building. It also takes forever for maintenance to get around to fixing what you need and sometimes it's not done correctly the first time so they have to come back and re-fix the problem. Getting in contact with management is almost impossible and the staff that works in the front office is often unhelpful and sometimes flat out rude! We're currently in the process of trying to move out and it's a nightmare! They're trying to overcharge us for things which is a direct violation of the lease contract, but again it's impossible to get in contact with management so we're having a hard time getting this problem solved. All in all this place is one of the worst complexes we have ever rented from and it keeps getting worse!

a year ago the mail box kiosks had all their doors ripped open, the post office told management to fix them as it is their responsibility, today the post office said they will no longer allow residents to come to the post office and get their mail, all mail for Vista Del Rey will be automatically returned to sender. because the post office says vista del rey told them they will not fix the mailbox kiosks. water is constantly being turned off because of broken pipes, no hot water because the boilers are constant breaking, filth everywhere, homeless on property, police constantly being called, exterior lights over most of the property burned out. your water bill will anywhere from 100.00 to 200.00 plus because the outside faucets areleft running for months now and the knobs were removed so the residents can’t shut off the water.

Management doesn't care about tenants much less their job. Work orders get closed out and they don't even attempt to fix problem.

I have never encountered such a horrible place to live. I have standing water in my apartment along with many other issues wrong with my apartment. I currently have rats and raccoons living in the walls. No hot water in months. This new management team is horrible they do not care. And the company that owns them Shippy Properties out of Austin which they will tell you to contact don't care either. Don't waste your hard earned money here. This complex should be closed down. It's gone down hill fast with this new company. Horrible is putting it mildly and 1 star rating is still too high for this trash of an apartment.

There are TONS of problems with this place....management doesn't care either. Too many roaches, rats in the walls, standing water from the AC, no hot water for over a month! I promise you, if you rent from here, you will regret it. Their parent company in Austin could care less. They never answer their phone nor their emails. This place is absolute trash! Be warned!

New management has taken over, but it has gone too far downhill. Prices have increased, however, the maintenance has not done well to keep up with repairs. Every three months we have hot water issues that can range from anywhere from 3 days to a whole week. There is no communication, and there are empty promises. Also, it used to be a gated community, but that no longer exists. If you can avoid the headache, I would run the other way!

I'm going here for a month, I call the office and they never come I have to be cooking with agril or with a pot of prickly pear under the burner I need a new stove that is made up of another lid that is not hers, the food disposer does not serve it. Let me know and nothing was left to put light in the room and nothing but for the rent they put you until if you do not pay before due and they evict ?????? the refrigerator without light the dishwasher cover does not have it ?? ????

Overall my last 6 years or so here have been a pleasure. Never really had any maintenance issues besides a light bulb go out or the changing of my a/c filter needed. Great fitness center open 24 hours and some pretty awesomely clean pools plus they have REAL swings here! This last change of management that we went through had me a little worried at first but they turned out to have the best of intentions at heart and are some of the most endearing people I have ever met.

Thanks to the new management the complex is looking better, ya'll are doing great thanks.The personnel in the office have the best customer service and look very professional .Thanks for addressing any problem or complaint that we come upon. Sincerely Rosalinda Trevino Apt,4904

Short and sweet ... Office staff is rude they lie they steal. They say 7 days approve or denied no two weeks and that is calling to check status of application. Refuse to give my deposited back!!!

Complete crap just stay away Ms.Dana must work for the leasing office they are horrible I found the management company which was refused ........ falkin platnick Is the management company and corporate office if you google “falkin platnick” there is a number and location don’t let the leasing office tell you lies

Do not rent in this place because they are thieves. I lived there for a year and it was a nightmare. It will take weeks for them to fix anything, there was a water leak on my ceiling which they never fixed. I ended up moving out at the end of my lease and they billed me for $1,000.00 for repairs; I left the place clean and they still charged me $25 to clean the kitchen cabinets. This is the worst place you can ever rent; don't get scam by their specials and deals, they are going to charge you a lot of money when you move out and will threaten to sue you if you don't pay them.

Management moved me into this apartment knowing that others had left because of the massive roach infestation. Before I moved any furniture in, there were at least 8 dead roaches in the living room alone. I have seen more roaches in this apartment in one week then I have seen in my entire life! I kill up to 15 a night!! Pest control has come out 2-3 times and the problem has only got worse.

I like these apartments, it is an old property but they really keep the place clean. I really have no complaints. Maintenance is great, they are fast to come for any work orders. It is very quite and peaceful.

Gated, multiple gates for easy access, wide selection of apartment types at reasonable rates. Parking near your building is difficult to get as too many visitors take nearby places. Maintenance is absolutely terrible. Ceiling began leaking two months into lease and I requested it be fixed three times, which it never was. I fixed it myself. I lost all hot water about six months into lease and have requested it be fixed seven times, only to be told there was nothing that could be done or that it wasn't cold. Almost done with second year lease and I refuse to sign another one because I need hot water at least in showers!

Vista del Rey have the best office personal, maintenance is always on call don't matter what time of day they will response. That's all I got to say Vista del Rey are the best.

There is a soccer court near the play ground closes to my door and soccer players that don't live on the property shows up 3-4 nights a week to play there game until late. The noise is so unbearable that I am not renewing my lease because of the noise. I have high blood pressure and needs to leave for my health. Other than the noise it a very nice place to live and I truly wish that I can stay because it is so close to everything.

The apartments themselves aren't bad (if you're not super nitpicky like I am). The units are newly updated and are spacious, but the configuration of the place makes it nearly impossible to move into. If you're moving in with your significant other and your relationship isn't particularly solid, hire a moving company. It's THAT difficult to get your belongings in without ruining a few walls, everything you own, and your relationship. If you need anything from maintenance, you have to call at least 3 times before the problem is actually solved. One side of the complex is in a sort of sketchy area, but it's not too far from everything you should need. Overalll, it's ok. Just ok. And btw at least one of the gates is broken at all times.
