Cradled by I-240 and I-40, East Asheville sits just east of the Asheville Mall and contains the Asheville Municipal Golf Course, the WNC Nature Center, and the Folk Art Center. The Swannanoa River meanders through the neighborhood and features several parks, including Asheville Recreation Park, which is home to the nature center, picnic areas, basketball courts, and a swimming pool.
