Conveniently located near Oakland and San Francisco, Walnut Creek is an East Bay community filled with rugged, wide-open spaces and an abundance of shopping opportunities, making it the ideal city for easy access to big-city amenities and the great outdoors. Walnut Creek is roughly 30 minutes from Oakland by vehicle, but if public transportation is your preference, this suburb also has direct BART service to both Oakland and San Fran!

From the lease experience, to enjoying our new home with Vaya has been great. The apartment hallways are constantly clean and presentable. It's dog-friendly with the washing station and small dog park, but also, there's so many places to walk with my dog since it's in a convenient location. Love it here!
Nothing has been done about constant noise throughout the apartment. Management has refused to address the issue and it’s continued for month.

So far everything that I have experienced has been great. The apartment is great. The neighbors are great. The noise level is very minimal. I really enjoy it here. I love how close it is to downtown Walnut Creek as well.

Great place and love living here. Will say the things never get done when they say, They posted a note of certain inspections on certain days and no one ever shows. Along with they said on the night of 5/8 there would be a security guard for the broken door and there was no security guard. Actions and what they say don’t always align.

I’ve lived here for 3 years. It’s very clean, excellent staff & residents. Very walkable area and maintenance is quicker than any building I’ve lived in. They have pretty fun events for residents. All of this to say it makes living in an apartment building feel like home!

Aside from our upstairs neighbor being extremely loud with running and stomping constantly, we've had a pleasant experience with Vaya. I think it would be helpful if Vaya could send reminders a each quarter reminding tenants to be mindful of your noise if you are an upstairs neighbor. That being said, my partner and I have had a great experience with the staff, the amenities, and our apartment.

Overall, great place to live. Nice facilities, great amenities, and very helpful team. Gated covered parking, nice pool, 24-hour gym, and great rooftop.
Amazing place to live at. Everything is so convenient and close by. Able to to have a gym and pool that makes it so enjoyable and not having to get a gym membership.
I love living at Vaya. The management really takes care of the property. It is well maintained and clean. The residents are also very warm and welcoming.
Friendly atmosphere with great amenities. Between the rooftop lounge and pool, plenty of fun time to be had. Also, never a doubt about security issues.
We've only been moved in here for a couple weeks, but so far so good. The walls are insulated really well so I don't hear much of the traffic from the street. The lobby and halls seem really clean and the staff have so far been good about responding to any questions.
It's great. We can feel safe here. Amenities are great. Pool is perfect for warm weather. Gym is always available. All neighbors are friendly. Thank you!

Love living here! It’s very clean with regular cleaning and maintenance folks which are familiar faces. The amenities and location couldn’t be better. Very secure and safe.
For some reason a bunch of guys have moved in here with these cars that have modified mufflers so loud that the building literally shakes when they come down the street. If you don't want your car alarm going off every other day and your dog hiding under your bed shaking in terror... find someplace else!
We moved here on 4/22/2022 and so far we are loving this place! The building management is really nice and the residents are very friendly! Lot's of good stuff to do at Vaya and around it.

I lived at vaya for the past 3 years so I had the chance to watch it go from a brand new property working out the kinks to a fully occupied building with the challenges that go along with those growing pains. Throughout that time, the staff consistently tried to make the experience one that was enjoyable. It wasn’t perfect with the occasional false fire alarm, a malfunctioning security garage gate, and residents who have a difficult time reading and following clear directions, but the management did the best they could to keep things in working order and to encourage best behavior for the benefit of all residents. I have no complaints about my time here although I am moving across the country. I would certainly recommend this community to others who are looking for a nice place to live in Walnut Creek, especially if they need to be near the Bart station.
This used to be a great place to live, but new management came in, new maintenance and an overall negative vibe. Not sure what happened to the former staff, but they were friendly, warm, welcoming, inviting, and took part in the community, were actually in the office, answered the phones and cared about the community, communication, keeping paperwork correct and complete, and answered the phones and email.
"I have continued to be so impressed with The Vaya…it started with my very first call to inquire about a tour and had continued to exceed expectations the entire time- from the leasing process (which they made so easy), to scheduling my move in, to the above & beyond kindness of the entire team, to the gorgeous building & amenities, to the fellow residents…everything has been amazing!! OVERPRICED-HIDDEN FEES! On top of the high rent, expect to pay the following: water base charge; cold water charge, water heating charge, hot water charge, pest control, sewer, trash AND trash valet! Plus, fees for car, pet and storage. Tenants also don't follow the no smoking rule or pick-up after their dogs.
The story of my residence in a completely new building began with the failure to fulfill promises and withholding hidden fees that were not previously announced. Be careful and immediately add at least $ 200-400 to the monthly amount and bills that you usually pay. A walls are so thin that you can perfectly hear your neighbors that it would be impossible to imagine housing at such a level. A residents' portal did not work in the early days of the month, as a result of which there was a delay in payment, for which the management charge a fees and in every possible way avoided a personal meeting to resolve this issue. Everything was beautiful in the picture, but in real life it is far from it.
Terrible customer service, dog crap that is never picked up gross!!! Extremely overpriced and they add on fees, have no respect for their tenants. Thin walls, go somewhere else!!!
I very rarely ever write a review especially about apartment communities, but this one I absolutely must tell you about. I moved here from Florida two weeks ago and found this gem of an apartment building. Vaya is a brand new building; opened July 2019. The surrounding area has wonderful conveniences such as a farmers market every Sunday morning right next-door; literally. Shopping, restaurants and the BART system across the street. If you are looking for convenience without paying the exorbitant prices in San Francisco, this is absolutely a must see. I have to thank Bree and Sam in the leasing office for being so helpful in finding my new home. They both made this decision a very painless process. As of this review they have leasing specials you must check out. I received one month rent free. I love the pool area with 4 large gas BBQ grills, large gas fireplace, hot tub, large pool, decent size gym with various equipment and free weights, rooftop garden oasis with large screen TV’s, kitchen facilities, sweeping views of Walnut Creek and the surrounding hills, valet trash (yes, they come to your door), and gated secure parking garage (multi levels underground). The day I moved in, I came home to a half carafe bottle of wine and glass, large pool towel, key chain, nice canvas bag, and coupons of the near by shops and restaurants. Bree and Sam have been a pleasure to work with here and have gone above and beyond to help me with my relocation from Florida. If you want an upgrade this is the place for you.
