Vara Apartments of Greystar LLC has been nothing but great. The building is clean and we'll maintained and Vara Team has been very wonderful. The amenities are also very impressive and give the building even more of a community environment.

vara is modern, focuses on cleanliness and it's very conveniently located in the heart of the Mission district.

Vara has a great team that are quick to respond to any situation. The building is well maintained and we'll built making it a safe feeling to come home to.

This place is a total joke. I moved into Vara expecting a secure, professionally managed building. What I got was a front-row seat to a street market of stolen junk every single weekend. No exaggeration — right outside the main entrance, people set up tarps and shopping carts full of random electronics, boxed appliances, and shoes with tags still on them. It’s chaotic, loud, filthy, and completely unmanaged. What’s worse? Management does nothing. Zero security, zero communication, zero accountability. It’s like they’ve just given up on keeping this place livable. We’re paying premium rent to step over trash and sketchy sidewalk sales just to leave our own home. It’s embarrassing, unsafe, and flat-out unacceptable. Don’t fall for the staged tours and fancy lobby. Come by on a Saturday afternoon and see what Vara really feels like. I’m counting down the days until my lease is up.

Vara is an oasis in the middle of an otherwise messy world. I love it here!

Living here at Vara is everything that an apartment community should be. It's well maintained, issues are resolved immediately and the staff are all happy to accommodate.

Vara has been an excellent place to live so far. Very responsive maintenance for any needs, which hasn't really been needed besides a could minor things moving in that were fixed within hours of submitting a work request. The staff on site is friendly & knowledgeable as well as they care about maintaining the facility thanks to it being their home as well. All the amenities are great from the basic luxuries in unit (large washer/dryer, other appliances in great condition, etc) and the community spaces (the grills, gym, gathering spaces, etc). Best of all the units are clean and pest free as well as the building itself is secure where I'm not worried about who I'm passing by in the hall or leaving my mail in the mailroom, which any packages too big for the mailbox are locked in a secure room at night for safe keeping. All in all it's a great place to live and I'd highly recommend it.

Recently moved into VARA on mission and so far my experience has been mostly positive. The staff are friendly and reliable. I appreciate the mail service and the security of deliveries. Maintenance requests are timely and professional. The building, common areas and garage are kept clean and feel safe. I especially like the fresh earthy scent in the lobby.

I have lived at Vara for six years now And whatever issues I may have with my apartment they are always Taken care of within 24 hours quick polite service with friendly faces very much appreciate the staff at Vara! This is my home

I was able to move into this community five years ago now, and I have made it my happy home whenever problems arise as they do, I always reach out to management and they are right on top of it no matter the issue and they do respond to the best of their ability and take care of the situation. I am very happy here and I would like to continue in the Vara community for a very long time and call at my home.

This is a beautiful apartment community located right in the middle of San Francisco in a super walkable neighborhood with excellent accessibility to shops, public transit and everything the city has to offer. The community offer a great outdoor space, 24 hour staff, parking, fitness center and more. If you in the market for an apartment make sure to add it to you list!

Convenient location that is a few minutes walk away from a Bart station. Overall a clean building with nice amenities such as package deliveries to my apartment door.

I like living at the Vara. They have great amenities and good staffing. It’s a very nice a comfortable place to live and I would recommend it to anyone.

The building is noisy, both from location and people outside the building, and explicitly endorsed loud music sometimes from inside the building. The building even takes money to reserve spaces for loud parties. It's also not well-insulated for sound from nearby apartments in general. Appliances are also functional, but a bit sketchy, with attempts to get repairs for power failures in my dishwasher and random-seeming beeps from my W/D not being successful. Maintenance has otherwise been good, and not everyone cares about these issues, so if you don't, you might like the space.

I was welcomed into Vara with open arms and have been here for many years, The diversity of our tenants and the respect for each other is wonderful I would continually love to live here possibly for the rest of my life but I do know that things change but if you will have me I have no reason to leave. what an incredible location to experience San Francisco. High quality building in the heart of the mission (best weather in the city), close to all the fun stuff and a great safe place to call home .

An excellent place to live in the Mission neighborhood.

Vara is a great place to live! The staff and amenities are amazing and it's very close to Valencia Street which is HUGE!! Having a full gym is a luxury and if you're living in the Mission, this is pretty much the only luxury apartment building around. Would definitely recommend - only thing to caution is the surrounding area can be filled with homeless people (which is sadly common on SF) but that's not Vara's fault. Once you're inside it's very safe :)

I’ve lived at Vara for 18 months, and I’ve had a good experience overall at the community. For the price and amenities it beats a lot of communities in the area, and it’s also in a great location if you like to spend time in the Mission, SOMA, Dolores Park, Castro, and Duboce Triangle areas. The amenities at Vara do the job, although don’t expect all of the bells and whistles of newer communities. The leasing staff, maintenance, and concierge staff are also cordial and friendly here. Another point that people should be aware of regarding Vara is that homelessness does spill over into this part of the Mission, and there are regular camp outs and squabbles that occur around the community. I’ve also experienced friends have break-ins to their cars while visiting, and I’ve had to strongly recommend that friends walk here or take public transportation to visit whenever possible.

Vara is a community that I enjoy because its location, cleanliness modern amenity.

I've lived here for a year and it's been amazing. The building is great. I love my apartment. The management and staff is very responsive and helpful. I needed short term parking spaces and they were more than accommodating. The issues in the apartment were resolved within the same day of raising them. I would definitely recommend Vara to anyone looking for a place in Mission.

The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating! My roommates and I love living here we were all new to the area and the amazing community has made this feel like home

Otherwise once inside the parameters of the building it's a little Oasis can be a little noisy from the streets and sometimes the parties in some of the apartments

The area is larger than that of similar apartments in SF. The residents terrace also huge. It's well-managed enough to feel like a new apartment.

I've stayed at more than 6 complex, 6 different managements in SF since 2014. This is the best management team I've experienced.

Lovely Residence, maintenance and garden apartments! I lost my stuff and in less than an hour, someone in the Residence found my lost item. If I tell the management office anything, they'll reply like a bullet. And my favorite part is the flower in front of the front door. So happy to see pink flowers every day.

I moved to SF from Chicago and Vara was one of the numerous places I saw in the 1 day I had to find an apartment when I was visiting for work. The location, building/amenities and apartment hit on everything I wanted in a place. Leasing and moving in was so easy - manly to the extremely friendly staff (everyone from the leasing office to maintenance staff are just about the nicest people you can meet). Couldn't be more thrilled with a new place in a new city!

I moved to San Francisco from Chicago and everything about Vara has been great - the employees have been so friendly, moving in was a breeze, the amenities are great, proximity to public transportation is awesome and you can handle everything virtually. Overall a great place to live!

Since the most recent acquisition of our building, I have had a pretty miserable tenant experience. Do not expect to be treated as anything more than I number. I am actively warning friends and colleagues to avoid.

Vara is very conveniently located near Valencia, a number of grocery stores, bart and almost anything one would need to live happily! The staff is extremely helpful and service requests are completed very quickly. Hello Alfred service is just amazing and saves a lot of time and effort! Parking conditions are similar to anywhere else in SF so brace your luck. Overall an amazing apartment with a nice gym and retreat area and 24/7 doorman service. Would definitely recommend to get started in the city and enjoy the Mission!
