Vanguard

My move-in experience at Vanguard Apartments was extremely disappointing. My original move-in was scheduled for September 20, but I was put in temporary housing until September 28 because my assigned room was not ready. I was still charged for the full month of September even though I could only access my unit for the last three days. When I finally moved into my room on September 28, the unit was not in move-in condition. I found fresh spider webs and live spiders in the bathroom, carpets and corners full of hair and dust, hair in the bathroom drawers, items left by the previous resident under the sink, and visibly dirty surfaces. My first counter wipe turned the cloth a different color from the dirt. I had to wear a mask and go through 13–15 pairs of gloves while deep-cleaning for about eight hours just to make the space livable. I could not unpack right away and ended up sleeping with a strong disinfectant smell. I could not even unpack when I was in temporary housing because I had to move to my original apartment. Management did provide temporary housing, and I appreciate the managements coordination. But they fail to realize they had to do it because there was no other option, I could not even unpack because I had to move back. However, when I asked for a credit of September’s rent due to all the inconvenience and only three days I actually had, which also mostly went in cleaning and me falling sick due to everything, the request was denied. The response focused on other issues rather than the core problem: the condition of my bed space at handover and the delay in being able to occupy it. I rarely post negative reviews, but this felt necessary.

The housing is clean, comfortable, and peaceful. Great location with friendly people, making it feel like a true home away from home very very good

My experience so far at the Vanguard has been amazing! The staff are all so sweet and helpful and the amenities offered like the gym, study rooms, and in house washer and dryer are all so convenient.

I have had a good time while at the vanguard so far. It comes with furniture which is nice and save a lot of money. It’s a 5 bedroom 5 bath apartment and it’s all clean and new.

The complex is a Beautiful place clean and quiet. I have a lot of amenities the staff is great with assistance and I enjoy everything it comes with !

Good location, not very good neighborhood. Maintenance is slow and cleanliness of halls and community areas could improve. Good amenities, great staff, great event planning for community engagement.

apartment was not cleaned properly. hair, lint, and socks in the washer and dryer area. Two doors broken. Waiting 2 hours for maintenance on our door fob, despite assured they’d be at our apartment in 5 minutes. The gated parking lot is nice, security is great for nighttime however it’s been a month into living and gates aren’t closed like said to be. All 5 in my apartment had called talking about prices for their deals, they kept trying to charge us things we didn’t owe. told me I was credited 75 dollars then someone else called to say I owe 75 dollars. Room assignments to be chosen by us and instead they did not assign us the right rooms and told us the person in our meant to be rooms needed to email consent to switch regardless of the fact we called 5 times in the last 2 weeks to make sure we got the right rooms and we knew our roommates. One wasn’t there at the time, was in Dubai unable to email anything. place is good living when there is no interaction with the staff honestly.

Living here so far has been a great time. The units are very nice, being fully furnished was a very welcome perk. The staff has also been great to communicate with, they are very friendly and work quickly.

I love the vanguard, the staff is so sweet and theyre always having super cool resident events and giveaways! My apartment is awesome as well, everything is basically brand new and all the appliances are updated!

Love the place...especially the bathroom and kitchen. Roommates are funny and very friendly! Haven't tried the pool yet, but that is on my to do list

I love this place so far. My roomates are chill, the rooms are nice, the gym, the pool, and everything about this place is awesome. So happy I found this place

So far its been nice my roommates are great and its a nice distance from campus. The apartments coming with their own washer and dryer were great because i wash clothes a lot.

Well, I’m yet to move in on the 15th, but I’m excited to so far with the customer service agents. Their readiness to always answer my calls is very welcoming. The virtual tour was also great, and the facilitator for my session was awesome. It was a great time

Staff members were very helpful and responsive! The process was very quick and smooth, which made the transition into a new city much easier.

I stayed over here for two weeks before I actually came to Cincinnati and I enjoyed the entire time so now that I'm actually living here I think I will have a amazing time and I think I will enjoy everybody in the staff and I also like the upgrades that were dead to the building and I think that this will be a fun time living at the Vangaurd

I recently moved in and couldn’t be happier with my decision. The leasing office made the entire process smooth and stress-free—from the initial tour to the move-in day. The staff has been incredibly welcoming and responsive to any questions I’ve had. My apartment was clean and in great condition when I arrived, and everything was ready to go. I especially appreciate how quiet and well-maintained the community is. It already feels like home, and I’m excited to be part of this neighborhood.

Honestly? The management keeps getting worse and worse. Things such as the security cameras have constantly been lied about working, the gate is always broken, there’s always some issue going on, and answers are almost always left unanswered. I understand that some things are out of their control, but the lies and deceit? That does not need to happen.

I hate living here, worst management ever. I dont even stay at the apartment complex anymore. I just pay rent and thats it. I visit the apartment complex here and there. I wouldn't recommend staying here if your going to college at UC

Head to toe. Staff to units. This is one of the best places I've had the pleasure of staying at. The building is always clean. The property management actually feels like they care. Its a nice, quiet, peaceful place for me to study.

I'm enjoying my stay here at The Vanguard quite a lot. The units are clean and well furnished, my roommate is kind and keeps to himself like me, and the office attendants are always polite when I stop by to pick up mail. If any problems should arise I'll do my best to cooperate and comply, as this is exactly what I needed for a place to live in every conceivable way.

The nicest people work here! From the first time me walking in I just felt like this was the place, they were so helpful with all my questions and made the leasing very easy.

It is a fun place to live at the vanguard, especially with the new club house that is open it’s fun to go there and enjoy ones a while and also the events that goes on at the vanguard is fun.

This place will nickel & dime you, make up fees. Property Manager(Taylor) is rude. Find another apartment!!!!

something is always broken, and no matter how many times maintenance comes to fix things, it doesn’t fully fix it. The maintenance crew is amazing, don’t get me wrong. The problem isn’t with them, but with the building itself. It just wasn’t built well. There’s also the problem where living here feels less like an apartment complex, and more like a dorm. Either that, or it feels as though I’m living at a parent’s house. My apartment room was not trashed, or anything of the sort. There were clean dishes sitting out and drying, as well as some shoes spread around the apartment when maintenance (and the owner) came in for the inspections (which I should add does not happen at normal apartments), and my roommates and I got an email to clean the place up. I just find it ridiculous that clean dishes and shoes are enough to make management alarmed that the place was trashed.

I've visited what seems to be an endless amount of properties. I was immediately blown away as soon as I laid my eyes on this one. Head to toe, Vanguard is without a doubt top of the line. Amazing staff, arguably even better interior designers. One of the strongest buildings I've ever seen. It's a place I highly recommend. Even if only just to stop by. I promise you won't want to leave.

This property is beautiful! I really enjoyed the tour and the person working in the front was extremely nice. I have told a few of my friends about this place

Good apartment little far from campus and a little pricey but enjoy living here and not exactly in the best part of town but when I’m here it’s great

Can do better when it comes to taking resident input when it comes to projects and maintenance. Would like to see more done to engage with other residents living in the building

The maintenance team and contractors have continued to be unreliable and not show up when they tell me they will to make major repairs. Management states they will communicate with me about the timeline on the repair and fail to do so, my major repair still hasn't been completed since I moved in 2 1/2 months ago.

Living at the Vanguard is very nice. The maintenance requests get done fast and is not rushed work. Overall, this is a great place, I just wish the clubhouse was already built.

The people in the office are very kind, I'm a fan of the events and rewards, my roommates are polite, and the location is convenient for walking to work/other places.

I do like it here but my main issues have been slow responses to issues. There was a flood over winter break but we only got our flooded light fixed on the 10th of February, we've been told the gate we have to pay parking for will be up all the time but I have only ever seen it operating once, and the on site gym was supposed to be up late fall and it's already late winter without us being told anything. Staff otherwise are lovely and I like that we have events that happen, but a bit more communication would be appreciated.

None of the promised amenities are available and there are people in the building who do not know the meaning of quiet. The rooms are really nice though!

The clubhouse was supposed to built already. They opened beginning of Fall semester 2024 and now, spring semester 2025, it’s still not ready and there’s no date of when it might be ready. The management is horrible. The apartment is good. The location sucks because ther shuttle that takes you to campus is inconsistent and the want I campus is horrible and unsafe.

It’s a fun time living at the vanguard it’s a cozy and a comfortable place where they sometimes have some events and they have some great offers on the lease.

The Vanguard is the BEST student housing in Cincinnati! Between the fully furnished units and the affordable pricing I don’t know how it could get any better!!!

Love living here I love the amount of space we have in our rooms and I also love the walk in closets and having our own bathrooms in our rooms

So far so good! Every issue I have had has been immediately taken care of. The staff is very attentive to issues and very quick to respond when help is needed. Overall the price may be high, but it is worth it for how nice the apartment itself is!

My times with the vanguard haven’t been the best I have had a lot of ups and downs. The upside is that the vanguard understood my issues and have tried to work with me and help in anyway possible.

things have started to get better since the beginning of move in. there’s still some downsides, like the guest parking that needs to be paid for for a parking lot that is never really closed. hiking up the pricing for this parking for next year isn’t justifiable either. the maintenance for the place is good though. things get fixed quickly. events are hosted for vanguard residents and they’re usually pretty chill

ive been enjoying my time living here. And i really appreciate the accommodations such as gym memberships to us since the gym isnt being built yet. Everyone is beyond friendly.
