Northwood Park is located in the University District of Columbus, Ohio, just to the west of U.S. 23 and Interstate 71 and a few miles north of Interstate 670. Only about 3 miles north from Downtown Columbus, Northwood Park offers an easy commute to work and close access to Ohio State campus activities and attractions.
Northwood Park, also known as the Northwood and Oakland Avenue Area, was one of the first subdivisions developed in the first half of the century on the then "outskirts" of the city of Columbus. With a strong sense of community, large homes, beautiful gardens and brick alleys, the neighborhood rounds out Ohio State off-campus living with a family friendly environment close to football games and other university fun. Whether you take this neighborhood as a permanent resident or renter, you'll find a great local community with arts, events and activities for everyone.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Urban - Student Housing
This place is the worst! The “amenities” are always broken (elevator, pool) and the kitchens are disgusting. The rooms are ridiculously tiny. Worst of all is the staff. They are all rude and incompetent. They won’t even give you paper for the printer.
The Urban has gone down significantly over the course of the year. They fired all of their decent staff and no longer have any worthwhile amenities. A bunch of rooms flooded with dirty water and they did nothing about it to help us other than put loud dehumidifiers in the rooms and hallways for weeks. Parking is super expensive for residents (but free for hotel guests), the pool is always closed, and all of the shared areas like laundry, kitchen, and couches are dirty. The rooms are not worth the price at all.
The elevator is down CONSTANTLY (once every few weeks for the whole day) and they put everybody on floors 5 and 6. The hot tub is broken all the time too. There are also persistent cigarette or weed smells in the rooms because all of the room vents are connected. The construction across the street also makes the front of the building totally inaccessible every single day from 7am-5pm. The rooms are tiny and the rent is high. The only really benefit is the location.
PROS: New buidling and appliances, close to campus CONS: Have raised rent every year they have been in business, rooms are VERY small, pool never clean, roach infestation when I lived there, overly expensive parking, no one resepects quiet hours on weekdays
