Property Ratings at The Standard at Domain
Have to agree with many of the other posters. The Management here does not care and lacks any form of customer service. It has progressively gone downhill. We recently decided to renew our lease with a "Free Month Rent For December" special. Our fully executed lease was lost and archive by Management. This somehow triggered our rental portals to be wiped of all information like previous leases and auto pay. As a result we were sent a Notice to Vacate on December 4 due to non payment of December rent (the rent we were not to be charge pursuant to our renewed lease). When we alerted Management to the error they acknowledged it but instead of an apology they refused to waive a 10% late fee or the December rent fee at all. We ended up paying for December and the late fee so our credit would not be wrongfully damaged and cause even more of a headache. We're still waiting for a refund of these fees. If you want to feel like a valued customer and don't want to spend hours and hours calling and emailing over any issue you might want to consider the many other apartments in the Domain that are better managed. Update - We now have duplicate pest fee charge for January

- Nearby Whole foods (walkable) groceries. - Lots of coffee, restaurants and shopping areas. - North side Domains is better than south side. - Has an awesome pool to swim, billards to shoot, and gym to work out. Main downside is the weekends can be loud but that's more of the vibe for this area in general.

Everything is broken by default. All appliances are of lowest quality. Hallways and elevators smells the disgusting mix of marijuana and urine. 24/7 noise of race cars on the streets which you have miserably tolerate due to paper thin walls. Stay away from Domain and at least from Standard Apartments.

Stay away from The Standard or any properties managed by bh. I was a resident for 3 years and upon move out I was charged over $1K and lost my entire deposit. The biggest issue I had was being charged for missing blinds which were taken out by one of the maintenance workers and being charged to replace the carpet which apparently had "total deterioration" according to Omar one of the managers. First we feel we were unjustly charged for the blinds as their worker took them out after completing a service job! Second, the carpet damage which they claimed was "total deterioration" was a result of furniture staying in place for 2 years (desk and bed). What were we supposed to do to prevent that? To further illustrate the inconsistency and unjust charges to the carpet: when we lived in another unit at the Standard prior to the one we just moved out of, we were not charged for any carpet damage despite the furniture being the exact same! Why were charged now living in a different unit? Upon bringing up this issue with management they claimed that they "do not negotiate move out charges". Stay away. Horrible move out experience. Be prepared for a hefty bill upon move out.

It has progressively gotten worse over the last 2 years. The management team doesn't care about anything, and is non-responsive. I sent my notice to vacate 2 times still haven't heard back... We got a new management company, BH. From the little I have dealt with them, they are a joke. Their "renewal specialist" doesn't know anything about the property and sent me a lease with addendums that are not for the property. She CC the management team and the management team said I was correct. Then she responded to me and told me they didn't have the correct information. I actually was going to renew, but the lack of professionalism and management was a sign not to resign there. The best thing about the apartments is the location. It is one of the best locations in the domain. The crime has increased in the 2.5 years I have lived here as well. When I moved in I felt safe and never worried about things. I have seen numerous cars broken into (all at the same time, multiple times), gates and doors do not stay locked and working. My bike was stolen from inside the apartment building and was locked up. I did a police report and called security, they do not care. The security officer was too busy for me as she was trying to find a burning smell in the building. Save your self the hassle and live at a property that management is involved with their residents.

Honestly, save yourself the trouble & money and move elsewhere. I've been here for a little over a year, and here's why you shouldn't live here. Property management is a joke. Poor Communication, Poor Customer Service, and bad employees that hate their jobs, and it shows. Don't get me wrong, there are a few good employees there, but the bad ones love to drag everyone else down. Good luck contacting anyone at the corporate office or management. Live BH care more about you finding their 3rd party property management service than you getting help. Constant trash everywhere. Dogs peeing in the elevator is common. Elevators breaking down is expected. Security Gates sometimes are just wide open for anyone to come through. Trash chutes are constantly broken and left open. Garbage trucks will ruin your morning at least once or twice a week. Did I mention there's trash everywhere? Employees will see it and walk away. You should do the same and walk away. It's not worth the stress or money.
The worst place to live! Management will not help. Mold issue causing illness found recently. They painted over mold before i moved in.
Horrible and costly experience. Our experience, living in, and dealing with management of this property (standard at the domain north side / Northwood Ravin) has been completely unacceptable. This management company uses the unethical practice of enforcing an unreasonable contract notice policy (60 days notice on a 90 day short-term lease) with specific intent to milk the renter out of additional months of rent. Looking at a multitude of recent reviews, (too late for us) we’ve realized that this has happened frequently and should probably be looked at by the housing authority. The property is Filthy. All community Common areas are in disrepair and safety and security is non-existent. We have found this company, it’s representatives and management team to be unfair, unreasonable, unresponsive, unscrupulous and just plain greedy. You have been warned. DON’T RENT HERE. You will not be happy with Standard at the Domain Northside.
