Right outside of Fort Worth and only about 45 minutes from Dallas, North Richland Hills is a large suburban community that has developed a local character independent from its larger neighbors. The local schools are excellent, and numerous family-friendly activities make it a terrific option for anyone with children.
In the summer, NRH2O Family Water Park is one of the most popular attractions in town, and hockey games at NYTEX Sports Centre draw big crowds in the colder months. The city has a robust arts community, including the Art in Public Spaces Program which has supported art installations all over the community since 2002. Dozens of different public parks around town give everyone easy access to open-air recreation.

Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Skylark on Harwood
Awful AWFUL!!!!! These people are super friendly and helpful ONLY when is time to sign in the lease but to get them to help you with maintenance and other issues forget about it, no communication at all. Is like tenant is talking to a wall, that guy at the office sitting on his desk all day doing nothing and when you go ask for something he doesn’t even have communication skills, like why are you even doing this people to people’s job. Then they want to charge you extra money when it comes to rent. Worst WORST property management I’ve ever had.

This place is trash! Literally, the property is littered with garage and all of the grass is dead. They care nothing for their tenants, only about signing new suckers to live here. Not to mention their towing policy and fee which will cost you or a friend over $300 if you forget to register them. Wish I would’ve gotten in on this racket so I could be making big bank; however, I have a soul.
DO NOT LEASE HERE. I would give this place 0 stars if I could. Since I have moved in it has been one issue after another. First I didn’t have a dryer for over a week. I have requested my AC be fixed on 3 different dates and it has yet to be fixed. I have been 9 days with AC in this 100 degree weather and it gets up to 81! I tried explaining this and all I get is ignored. They claim it’s within city code? That’s ridiculous. The staff wouldn’t go home to a 80-90 degree apartment so I don’t know why we would be expected to? The amenities are a joke. The gym wasn’t open for the last 3 months and finally it’s open but with limited hours. Pool? Forget it. Hasn’t been opened since I’ve been here. This place is terrible. Rent elsewhere because the management is terrible and you’ll be expected to live in unsafe conditions!!!!
RENT ELSE WHERE. Since new Management took over this place has gone has gone further down the hill and faster than I thought. I was really hoping that it would improve. As Silver Creek it was going to get a not so great review! But I find myself in just a few short months of new management taking over over writing a one star review. That would be 0 if we could give it! I read a few of the one star reviews and yes they are all accurate. 1. when we 1st moved in 2 years ago we chose this place because I was going to be able to park my trailers and multiple vehicles. As I am a small business owner. So they put us in the back building by the creek and told us we could park all our vehicles and trailers in the back. And there is attic with parking for my trucks and trailers. Old management never informed us that new management was going to put a limit on vehicles. They Notified us by putting signs up having to register our vehicles. They couldn't even tell us what was going on was going on. At 3 o'clock we had a note posted to our door Telling us towing would be taking effect immediately. and when we tried to call the office they were closed. Which happens regularly, the website says 6 o'clock. And visitors have to register with the apartment complex? If the gates worked which they have not in 2 years 2 years that we've been here they probably wouldn't need to register. I have a gate fob that I have only used for about 3 months out of 2 years when the gates worked. If you have children or dogs that That you like to take outside and play with. This is not the place for you there might be speed limit signs posted but nobody follows them I cannot tell you how many times I have almost been hit trying to cross the parking lot to get to my appointment. No stop signs no speed bumps! I really thought pedestrians had the right of way of way. This this apartment complex is looking for a lawsuit when somebody does get hit. In a little over 2 years the stay has been OK. But now these past few months, since new Management took over, it has been dreadful. I cannot wait for our lease to end. I could go on and and on but you move in here, you'll just have to find out for yourself!
I have been 1 and half year,I don't have any problems, No disturbance, which means good neighbor hood, and I felt like secured. And also for any questions their reaction is very good.
I moved here in Feb 2019. I moved from Las Colinas where I had lived in the same apartment for 11 years. I moved to be closer to work and my grandchildren. So far, my experience here has been good. I miss the nature around me but in spite of that, the staff are good people and maintenance work hard to keep up with all they have to do. Aside from the children occasionally playing outside on pretty days and hearing their laughter, I got exactly what I was looking for. The peace and quiet is awesome and my neighbors are too! Thank you Tammy and Jake for all you do to make it a comfortable place to live. I appreciate all of you and I hope to live comfortably here for the next 10! ~N
Property Manager at The Skylark on Harwood, Responded To This Review
Thank you so much for your comments! We are so happy you are enjoying your apartment and hope to keep it the same for the next 10 years!
I have lived here since the end of June and I love it here! The process for approval was smooth and Jake really was attentive and helpful. The grounds are neat and manicured. Every morning maintenance cleans up any trash that may be lying around, and I have great neighbors.
I had a very lengthy, detailed review ready though it exceeded the character limit. I've been here two weeks and have already had way too many problems with too many red flags. A list of a few of the issues: - very lazy, rude maintenance (never get anything done (seen from the numerous phone calls the office has about people being upset over their ac being out for nearly a week), the lead maintenance guy is always sitting in the office every single time I see him. He never gets anything done. - swimming pool is not maintained and/or cleaned - fitness centers have mostly broken equipment and are dirty - security gates don't work - horrible, rude neighbors who management doesn't do anything about until you threaten to sue.
I used to live in another place that I absolutely loved but had to move due to the rent getting to high... I miss that place so much but I do like this places location. It's close to the college, the grocery stores not far up the road and the library is practically around the corner. All in all this place is alright but I definitely recommend reviewing the lease 5-6 times before you sign. The management snuck in some additional fees that made my apartment, which I thought I was getting for a good deal on or more then I wanted to pay....From what I hear thru the grapevine this seems to be a normal occurrence, however after you get past that step and make sure everything has been checked thoroughly in the apartment before you bring back the signs in you should be ok. .... One big contention I have is their ridiculous fees if you want to break the lease!!! I know it's not a normal issue for most people but some people have things change in their lives and need to relocate and the fees are terrible if you are thinking about changing jobs or moving out of state. They won't even work with you if you need to make a change. Which is very disheartening. Also any maintenance requests have to be filled out in writing which is inconvenient since I work during their normal work hours. Please don't get me wrong outside the lease the place is nice, people appear friendly. It can get noisy from time to time but that's just because kids (big and small) like to play outside. But it's clean and feels safe so all in all its not bad. I just wish they were more accommodating.
Its a nice apartment with big windows in every room which gives ample light. Downside is this causes noise bleed to happen VERY easily. Also if you need over 18 mb/s internet, this apartment is not for you. I would also recommend getting any promises on rent in writing as they attempted to sneak a upgrade in without telling me on my apartment. I've got a middle apartment and the ceiling is very thin. I hear my neighbor all day long walking and if something gets dropped. It very easily will shake my entire apartment. Regardless, still a very nice apartment for the money.
The Silver Creek Apartments were the answer to my prayers last year. I am a 47 year old recently divorced Surgical Technologist and mother who, like most women my age, are looking for a way to lighten the load of the daily stresses. SCA staff is kind, helpful, and efficient. They are amazing!
Me and my husband have lived here for 2 years and we have had our air filter changed once. The first few months we lived here my husbands car got broken into and multiple other cars. Cop's are always here for God knows what reason we pay way to much for all of these things to happen.
