The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Retreat at 2818
There are NO renovations; just painted over mold & holes in the wall, paint over mildew in tubs, & etc..... Maintenance is lazy & will report that they fixed something when they didn't. They're always cutting the water off for no apparent reason! Roaches are horrible & neighbor had rats when we 1st moved in; we've even caught 2 of them 8n traps! Compared to others places rent is cheap but keep in mind you're getting exactly what you're paying for!
I have never dealt with a more unprofessional business! I moved out 6+ months ago and still haven’t received my deposit back. I had to email daily for WEEKS to get a response. They claim to send it again. NOTHING. The office claims not to know corporates number. I have emailed corporate DAILY for over a month with NO RESPONSE! If you want somewhere that is going to care and communicate DO NOT LIVE HERE!
It is difficult to get a straight answer out of management. I had to move because of neighbor issues compromising my academic performance in a graduate program at A&M, it got to the point that I was afraid to walk around at night and could not sleep at night because of the screaming. When I finally left, I kept trying to work with management to sublet or terminate my lease. They convinced me to sublet, that they could find a new leaser for the apartment. Three months later, and I was still paying for an apartment that I didn’t live at under the assumption that they were going to help me fill the vacancy, so I met back with them to discover that they had 17 other vacancies to fill before even considering filling mine. They claimed that it was my fault because I wasn’t advertising the apartment to my peers, but why would I when we are in a challenging program and I wouldn’t wish living in those situations on my worst enemy? Having gotten no updates on the apartment, I went to meet with them to discover that the troublesome neighbors had left... months ago, which would have made me feel more comfortable advertising the apartment, but now I just tell prospective students to avoid it. Needless to say I went through and paid out the lease. Everytime I sat with management and thought that we came to a consensus, nothing would happen and they’d respond to any emails that I misinterpreted our meeting... even though I took down notes and confirmed during the meeting that my notes were correct. Overall, working with management is confusing and you’ll want a 3rd party representation to keep you grounded. When I applied to this complex, it was understood that it would be a 2nd floor apartment with a washer and dryer in unit. Which of course was not what they have available. You have a dark, thin-walled apartment that needs renovation (water leaks/spots/ paint chips/cracks, some buildings have water issues so I’d get emails and texts about water shut offs weekly (i think they fixed it, hopefully). The laundry room, is present, and can be clean and most machines working...most of the time. Parking, they have a new sticker and towing system, however it is limited at times difficult to find. I definitely recommend visiting the apartments before signing a lease ( COVID made this difficult for me and made my whole experience a valuable learning experience). On the real plus side, Bryan PD is really nice to work with.
Management is great! they have been responsive to all questions and maintenance requests. The place isn't the nicest but its pretty good for the price point! (1 bed/bath)
over the past year they have done extensive renovations and it looks beautiful, you will not find another complex with trees like The Retreat. My Kids love the new playground and the off leash dog park is perfect for my little jack russell to run free in.
I would not recommend these apartments at all. upkeep is not done on these apartments.
