Tucked in the northwest corner of Cook County, suburbs such as Hoffman Estates, Palatine, South Barrington and Schaumburg vary widely in personality and composition. Schaumburg, the largest in population, is home to Ikea and Woodfield Mall, the largest mall in the Chicago area. Palatine, developed on a wooded marshland, comes in at a close second in size. Hoffman Estates, while smaller, is the most densely populated of the four suburbs and is home to AT&T's Midwest headquarters and Sears Holding Corporation. South Barrington, tiny in comparison, and arguably the most affluent in the area, is home to the famous mega church, Willow Creek Community Church.
Heavy traffic can double or triple commute times, so area locals know to check the highway reports before leaving home. Normal drive time into the city from this area is about 30 minutes via the Interstate 90 tollway. An easy 20 minute drive will take residents to O'Hare International Airport.

Property Ratings at The Residences at Payton Place
This is no longer a nice place to live. Neighbors with dogs don't pick up their messes, piles of poop are left outside around the building, trash left outside in front of the building, garbage left outside their doors. And the worst of all is the security breach by those who prop the doors around the building so they don't have to use their key fob to get back into the building. Building management does nothing.

The apartments look very nice and is a decent price. However after living here for several months the faults in construction are more obvious. Its a new building and I wonder if all the positive reviews were based on first impressions. Be prepared to here your all your neighbors. The countertops started chipping after one month and the shower floor creaks to the point of every guest asking what was wrong after using it. Again the floor plans are good and the staff are fantastic but the construction feels like it cut corners. For the price you are paying it feels the quality should be higher.

The Residences at Payton Place is conveniently located right next to highway and close to all essential services and very close to Arlington Heights Downtown. The Apartments itself is brand new, modern with excellent facilities and a friendly and professional staff. The apartment interior has good finish to top quality, materials, lighting and appliances. I have a great view from my 4th floor apartment.
