Nestled off of I-80 in southwestern Wyoming, Rock Springs is a charming town with a rich western history. Nicknamed the City of 56 Nationalities, Rock Springs was home to a diverse array of immigrants from 56 nations who came to the city to work in the Union Pacific coal mines during the late 1800s and early 1900s. Legendary outlaw Butch Cassidy acquired the name “Butch” while working as a butcher in Rock Springs.

So far, so good! Quiet and maintenance has been very responsive and quick. Only complaint so far, people are not picking up after their dogs. Lots of dog poo piles in front of building 2224. Tenants need to do better!

We had our apartment on hold for a month prior to actually moving in. Our lease began in May, 2 weeks into our lease, we finally stayed in the apartment, our A/C didn’t work. I submitted a maintenance request and next day it was looked into, however, at the time we were told it was a switch that just needed turned on, so when we got home after work, went straight to turning on the A/C and still didn’t blow cold air. Contacted the emergency maintenance number as the temperature got to 80 degrees by 7pm, unfortunately there wasn’t much for them to do so he came by again the following morning and we were told that he had to get the hvac people since he didn’t know what was going on and said he had it set up for the 19th and we’d have Vaughn’s come take a look at it. They showed up on the 22nd and will have to get a new system from what I understood. I wish they would’ve had this figured out prior to us moving in.

Move in was very easy. The floor plan is very nice, with two rooms separated by the living room. Good for workers here in town who want their own bathroom and a separate space. It's only night two, but this place is great!

Great employees. Rent is overpriced and increases annually despite our long term rental status. Nice fitness center. Hot tub has not worked for years but we still get charged for it as an amenity.

The Preserve at Rock Springs WY is awesome. I have lived here for over five years and the office staff is always friendly and helpful. The maintenance team is always friendly and prompt in repairing or replacing appliances or for anything I need. They are prompt in cleaning snow even in harsh conditions. The landscapers take real good care of the grass and keep the community looking great. If I have anything to do with it.I will keep living here for many more years.

The Preserve at Rock Springs in Rock Springs, Wyoming has been my home for almost four years. The manager, Kate, and her team take excellent care of the tenants requests and the property. Apartment home floorplans are varied and comfortable. There are two swimming pools and workout rooms. The complexes are close to everyday needs and the Mountain View’s are beautiful. I enjoy living here and plan to live here for years to come.

Since moving in February 2025 the Preserve staff have been very helpful and patient with me. At my age dealing with electronic devices when filling out application to move in was irritating for me personally. The staff was patient and always willing to help me move the move in process along smoothly. I think sometimes they were tired of hearing me complain about the process of getting the application completed. But, not once did they express any negative communication issue dealing with a senior citizen of my age. It made me happy being accepted here at the Preserve. The maintenance staff are always doing their job in a professional way and very friendly answering questions of what is going on and needs to be fixed. I truly believe I made the right choice of moving here to Rock Springs Preserve. Thank You staff for your concern of making my stay here mean something to me with peace, love, joy in my heart.

The Preserve at Rock Springs is one of the best places we've rented from. The apartments are new, modern, clean and well kept. It's very spacious and the amenities are amazing! We love having a fireplace for the Wyoming winter! In the summer, our kids loved being at the pool everyday! The club houses are a neat addition and feels like luxury. The staff are very helpful and responsive. Maintenance is very quick to fix anything that needs to be fixed. In the summer, the grass is mowed multiple times a week and in the winter, snow removal is always on time. Trash pickups are also multiple times a week. I love the high ceilings in our home. There was an issue with our apartment paint when we arrived, however, the management team rectified the situation in a timely manner. Management has updated the club house, the have redone the blacktop parking spaces and they have recently updated the laundry room. They are taking active action to keep the standard of living up.

The apartment layout is spacious and modern, and I love having access to walking trails right outside. The location is also fantastic, with shopping and recreational spots nearby. However, communication from management can be confusing at times, and there have been frequent maintenance issues. That said, the maintenance staff is friendly and responsive, always doing their best to resolve problems quickly. Overall, a great place to live with some room for improvement in management and maintenance consistency.

Overall, quite nice. The administration and maintenance people have always been pleasant and upfront with me. The grounds are well maintained, snow removal is prompt, and normal repair/replacement work can take a while, but is attended to. I like The Preserve and would recommend it to others.

My family and I rented here for two years. They will make false claims when signing the initial lease agreement. When it’s time for the initial agreement. When it was time for the lease renewal my wife and I were told our rent was going up significantly. The second year, we had the luck of having a teen neighbor who liked to have parties late at night that kept our daughter up late at night. We reached out to the office multiple times in an effort to remedy this situation however nothing was done. A couple weeks later, we received a fee because apparently we didn’t pick up dog waste on the grounds. We do not own a dog. Frustrated, we asked about our options to vacate our lease early. We were told that we had to “buy out of our lease”. We decided to endure the remaining months of our lease because we couldn’t afford the astronomical amount they decided was fair. Throughout my life I have rented for 21 years, so I’m no rookie to apartment living or management ethics, this experience was unlike any other and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Inappropriately withheld money from deposit then tried to justify using information from another apartment. I vacated apartment on weekend so no walk through with agent. Took videos of condition which was immaculate – better operating condition and cleaner than when I moved in. Preserve withheld money for “touch up housekeeping”. I asked for documentation showing what needed to be done; had to prompt them a second time to get a response. Preserve sent photos which showed interior of an obviously different apartment (clearly shown by comparison of video & photos). No response when confronted, no return of money withheld. Also note that over 3-year period Preserve increased my rent every year by +10%. Current offer to new tenants about 1.6 times rate just 3.5 years ago. Possibly just greedy, possibly trying to build up reserve to pay for deteriorating infrastructure – units not that old (mine 5-6 years) but showing significant signs of poor-quality construction (concrete work, paint, carpet, structural cracks, caulking, etc.). WRT reviews, be aware that Preserve on several occasions solicited tenants to write reviews and offered opportunity for substantial financial reward for doing so. Nominally, chance of reward was not tied to a positive review but multiple studies document that reward offers generate positive reviews – well known to marketing experts. In several respects, I’d give The Preserve & staff average to good ratings but the jumps in rent were exceptional and the attempt to pass off photos of another apartment as evidence of the condition of mine when I vacated is completely unethical.

I put in for these apartments months in advance and when I moved in the staff was so helpful and it was a great experience, especially coming from the last place I lived in Casper. It is quiet and beautiful here. The staff are awesome and friendly.
I rented a 3 bedroom unit for a year starting in September of 2017. I couldn’t get them to fix the lights outside till February so I had to go down the stairs in the dark in the snow every morning going to work. Paper thin walls so you can constantly hear your neighbors. The parking is a joke because there isn’t enough parking spaces for the amount of units. We moved out in July and still haven’t received our security deposit back. We have called them countless times and just get told that it’s out of there hands because they changed management.
This has been such a great place to live so far. We down sized from a house to here. We feel like we made a great decision by choosing the Preserve.
This is my first interaction with maintenance. That being said, after this interaction, yes I would recommend this apartment community. As stated above, Mario went above and beyond what I expected. I can only hope that future interactions with maintenance will be just as great.
I don't feel like I have lived here long enough to give a solid answer. As of right now, I would recommend others here because my apartment is nice, and so far it seems like a safe area.
The apartments are nice; amenities are great and convenient; staff members are great; maintenance personnel are great; location is great for shopping, recreation, and restaurants.
The complex is exceptionally well maintained and the buildings are new and well constructed. Maintenance staff is responsive and polite as is the office staff. The office is manned six days per week and they are beyond helpful. I have lived at this location for two years now and have never had a problem. Parking can be a challenge depending on what part of the complex you live in but garages are also available. The Preserve is located in a very nice part of town and is considered the nicest place to live in an apartment. Believe me, I would pay a little more to be removed from the riff raff. I have been in this town for a good number of years and this is by far the nicest apartment complex that has ever existed in Rock Springs.
Highest rent in town and the worst quality and no service. Moved here in a rush and very little was available in town. Took a very lousy tour when here signing for my new job. They were more interested in going to lunch than helping me find a new place to live. On move in day was tossed the keys and said it's over there. No welcome tour or showing me my new apartment. As for the neighbors well loudrunning up and down the stairs, partying, and parking lines don't mean a thing. After a few months and talking to locals I learned the truth of this place. These were built in a big hurry. Poor quality slam and bang construction as cheep as possible. Very little heat and A/C in the bedroom. Plaster is cracking and doors stick from the building settling and rising with the change of seasons. Spoke with other residents who lost heat in the winter for over a week. The maintenance staff has no respect for you or your property. Contacting the office staff is never easy. They don't answer or return calls. Leaving a message is a gamble if they even listen to them. I never thought I would be so happy to pack and move out of a place.
