Property Ratings at The Point at Dunn Loring
I have lived here for years and love the convenience of the metro, Harris Teeter, restaurants, and doctors' offices. The maintenance team always fixes issues within 24 hours. The leasing team is always communicative, friendly, and easy to work with. Concierges go out of their way to help with any questions you have or package issues. I love the resident events they have started having this year too. They always have something going on twice a month or more. Honestly, I can say I never want to move and hope to continue renewing!
I usually don't write reviews but I wanted to make sure that the staff is recognized for the work that they do! They went above and beyond during my application and move in process. They are so friendly, patient, and were always there to ensure they could help me with any questions I had, it's the highlight for sure! The community is also very well kept and in a super convenient area!!
As a resident of the building towing is an issue here. The towing company is aware that you’re a resident and will still tow your car. It’s extremely inconvenient. A simple call would settle such disrespectful behavior. The Point provides a decal that you hang from your mirror instead of small sticker you can place on your window. Absurd.
I recently had a terrible experience upon visiting a family member who lives there. The property manager was so rude! The reason for my visit was to see her unit before I decided to move there……NOT NOW I AM TURNED OFF COMPLETELY
This building recently went under new management and has been awful ever since, specifically the concierge staff. Here are just several of many reasons why you should NOT rent here: 1. I had requested an overnight parking pass and was not given any instructions on where to park, so I parked on G1. As a result, my car got towed, which meant $160 out of my pocket. I was refused reimbursement since I'm apparently supposed to ask concierge to let me in to the tenant parking garage, but this is never communicated to residents or visitors. How are visitors supposed to automatically know this? 2. My mother, who lives in this building, had a friend who drove 3 hours to see her. Since my mom is terminally ill, she was not able to help direct her friend to her apartment. The concierge staff member at the time did not know which floor my mother's apartment was located, and after wandering around for 30 minutes, my mother's friend eventually left and was not able to visit her at all. 3. Additionally, my mother has caregivers with her 24/7. The concierge had informed all caregivers that their IDs must be held at the front desk whenever they stayed with her, which is illegal by law. 4. Concierge staff can be gone from the front desk for 30-45 minutes at a time, causing very long lines and frustration for anyone involved. The location is great, but if you want an apartment building that is led by competent staff and isn't a liability issue, look elsewhere.
We rented an apartment for my in-laws for several years. This year, they needed to move in with us due to failing health and Alzheimer's. It was dangerous for them to live alone. We notified the company in March that we would be ending the lease early and were prepared to give them 60 day notice and pay an early termination penalty. We even offered to vacate and allow them to lease it with the understanding that we would accept all of the risk and if it went unleased that we would pay. They would not even consider it. We ended up leave the apartment empty for more than 4 months. HEARTLESS
This place is horrible and I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
Amazing place, pretty new and clean. Like the surrounding area, everything is close by and front office team they are very nice, professional and very supportive and helpful.
Great location and staff, thin walls though, so if you have a baby or just want peace and quiet, there may be better places.

Avenir Place is located conveniently by a metro, restaurants and above a grocery store. The amenities are everything. This is modern living. It has everything you could possibly need to live a better quality of life!
The staff is very friendly and helpful, the amenities are well equipped, and the apartments are beautiful.

The location is great for access to transportation, restaurants and shopping. Wood framed building makes noise level a problem. Office does not enforce noise level policy and is not responsive.

All amenities have been shut down in the wake of COVID with no credits to account despite offering fewer services and only essential staff (maintenance). There are no follow throughs on addressing noise complaints, both neighbors above or people outside of Harris Teeter late at night. Finally, in 2020 when most retail is done via ecommerce. It's ridiculous that Avenir Place can't figure out how to handle and process packages without putting arbitrary policies in place like pickup within 24 hours, no packages over 16in. Especially during Christmas, we have no control over the packages we get from relatives, most often unannounced. Finally, there is no one staffing the 2671 reception desk. Most delivery drivers wind up putting our packages in random places. I expect Modera would have either staffed someone at the desk or provide signage to delivery drivers to enter 2677 for packages.

Unable to take hot shower. We dont have hot water at all. After 15 minutes of shower, the water goes from luke warm to cold. Its very disappointing. The washing machine is so loud that it sounds like we have construction in our house. Every time we do do laundry, we literally have to leave the house for a walk because it is SO LOUD. I would not recommend Avenir for those 2 reasons.

Cost of living and rent is very expensive. The only value I derive is that the apartment is in very close proximity to the Metro station that I take every day to & from work.
The group of people who work at Modera Avenir are a class act and do their best to assist you in all matters. The location of the property along with the staff make living here a real pleasure.

Upon move-out, I was charged $100 for "drywall repair." This was in response to a handful of nail holes that were left behind from hanging ordinary household fixtures. They were so rude and over dramatic about this issue upon move-out that I was absolutely without words. I was told the monies were to cover "contractor costs." Believe me when I say, this job they are referring to, is easily handled with their on-site maintenance staff. All that is needed (and it even being necessary is a bit take it out leave it), is to find some old spackling laying around - stick your finger in said spackling - and fill those tiny little holes with said spackle finger. I am utterly outraged over this fabricated and dramatized issue. I needed to move out of state on quick notice or I'd come down there myself and spend the entire five minutes it takes to do it. They literally came in for my "walk through" and figured - ah yep, easy hundred right there...

Great location, but do inspect the exact room as condition varies greatly and read all paperwork and invoices as generally have errors present that will cost you money.
Great location, not great value for all in cost. When you take away a good portion of the apartment in utilities that are located in each unit, we are really paying a lot per square foot.
Good area to live / convenient metro access / restaurants / grocery shopping / mosaic district shopping area is close too

Be very careful with the renewal as the facility can raise the rent based on their market view.

it's wonderfull and clean nice area to live and life place.
Any time I have any maintenance issues (always minor) the crew is incredibly responsive and really seem to care that I am taken care of and satisfied with the job they do. Can not say enough good things about them.
I do love the location, and the building, apartment, and community is very nice.
Weve lived at Avenir Place for almost 5 years. We enjoy the convenience of everything, eateries, grocery store, cleaners. We are 5 minutes from our jobs and have access to Metro. The staff at Avenir are pleasant, always willing to assist.
Avenir Place has a great location, a level of cleanliness, and overall great value.
