The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Plaza Apartments
I've been living here for 3 months and the bathtub clogged 3 times already! There's DARK DIRTY WATER COMING OUT OF THE DRAIN!!!! 10000000% gross. Feel so dumb to have signed the 1-year lease
Lived here 9/10/2019-6/17/2020 Only rent from The Plaza if you have no other option. When we first went to see the apartments, we were greeted by a kind and friendly young lady named Ruby. She showed us around a model apartment and mentioned that it was not identical to the apartment that we would be renting. Upon moving in, we found that the apartment leased to us was barely renovated and looked nothing like the model unit. We were not warned that our apartment would be significantly lower in quality compared to the model unit. Our apartment had termite damage in some of the baseboards at the edge of the bathrooms, and the cupboard under the sink in the bathrooms. We actually noticed the presence of termites as well. Although it was rare to find them alive, I would often wake up with a few dead termites in my bed, and termite wings would regularly be found in the bathroom in the morning. If you end up seeing the apartments, please ask them to show you the actual apartment they plan on giving you, not a model unit. Numerous times I would be in the shower with the water set to lukewarm, and suddenly the water would spike hot. It would sometimes spike so high (without anyone touching the knob) that I would leave the shower with a red chest/back. Many of the positive reviews have no mention of the security deposit. We cleaned extensively to avoid any charges. We were still charged $341 for painting. Our desks/beds had left some minor discoloration on the walls. We carefully read the lease agreement's sections on the security deposit and found that we are not responsible to pay for minor damages caused by reasonable use. Gisela, the landlady, immediately noticed the wall stains and told us we will be charged unless they're cleaned. We asked for the paint type, but they never got back to us. Without pointing them out, you can't really be certain whether they're shadows or stains. Please look up & read about wear and tear in this context; you'll find that anything similar to our situation falls under reasonable use and is paid for by the landlord. I would like you to form your own opinion. Would you feel comfortable giving up $341 for that? Come on. They'll have some excuse for every claim I made here. Don't listen to them. No matter what they retaliate with when they attempt to invalidate my review, I assure you that the apartment I rented was NOT worth the money, and the security deposit charge had no merit. Look elsewhere.
Property Manager at The Plaza Apartments, Responded To This Review
Mehrsun, our team is sad to hear your experience ended this way and that your time in our community fell short of expectations. We care about creating a great home and community for our residents and will keep your review in mind as we continue to grow and improve. The Plaza offers “Luxury” and “Conventional” apartments. Luxury has the most recent upgrades, your group selected a conventional which is a bit older but also lower in price. Regarding your deposit, unfortunately, in an attempt to clean the discoloration, there was damage to the wall paint. Since our team had to hire a painting company, we did need to take a sum out of the security deposit. If you would like to discuss your concerns or if you have additional questions regarding your deposit or rental process, we encourage you to reach out to our office at (310) 479-6205. We wish you all the best and hope that in the future, we can repair your confidence in our team.
Living in the Plaza apartment has been great thus far, all of the utilities were in great condition when we moved in, The floors were brand-new, the cabinets were newly finished, and the counter was granite. With an outdoor and open natural layout, you don't feel like you're in an apartment building, but rather a luxurious hotel. As for the staff, they are beyond exceptional. Throughout the whole entire process they were there almost 24 hours a day to help us complete our rent papers and submit maintenance request and process our bank information. Additionally , beyond the complex itself, parking on the street is amazing as well. In a crowded area like Westwood, parking is very valuable – which there is a plethora of. As for the area, it's basically student filled, creating a lot of nightlife and activity for the weekends. The restaurants in the area are beautiful as well with a wide variety of international and local food choices. Overall, I have to say that living at the Plaza Apartments has been one of the best decisions we have ever made. We looked all over Westwood for a unit for about seven months, and ended up here, and I couldn't have chosen anywhere better.
In a great location! Close to UCLA, Metro Bus Lines, as well as entrances to the 405 North and South. Quiet building, very clean and currently going through new renovations. Even in units that haven't been renovated, appliances are very up to date, and the rooms are decently spacious (fits 2 people in a room). Management is courteous and very helpful.
