The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Place at Oak Hills
I'm serious when I say that this place doesn't care about the tenants. This place just takes the money and doesn't listen to the issues tenants are experiencing. The apartment had Mold in the walls and cracks that were just painted over. I had repairs on drainage in my apartment months in and maintenance said to me that This is the first time they've Maintenenced the apartment in years! I was shocked I thought everything was ready and cleaned when I leased it? Parking is just the absolute worse management never listens. I'm happy that The place at oak hills is no longer called home.

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to leave your honest feedback regarding your previous resident experience. We are so sorry to hear that we did not give you the experience you deserve or expected. Please know that our team, both management and maintenance, is constantly working on improving to meet our resident's needs and are sorry we fell short here in the past. Best, Savannah R
I lived here for 3 years. My car was Stolen Rocks thrown at our window Rent checks mysteriously lost. Apartment Vandalized. Terrible office + Maintence Dog Poop everywhere Roaches + Ants Mold Painted over. Water leaks Continuous Theft The 1st year was surprisingly fine. (different management) I did have mold growing in the closet but be were transferring so no biggie (APT 2001). The next apartment was awful (APT 315). The water heater above us busted and flooded are bottom floor apartment. Maintenance could care less. They neglected this is sure to the point that mold was growing AGAIN, and they ended up painting over it. We asked to be moved again which also was another hassle. Our final straw was when we moved into yet another apartment.(APT 404) Roaches , dog poop everywhere & the safety was terrible. My car got stolen from this parking lot ,a rock was thrown at the window and when we politely confronted Robert and Renee they said that’s not their problem and when we asked to break the lease they chuckled. Thankfully , we are backed with a legal team and it made breaking the lease simple; with all our documentation. They also tried to charge us for one of our apartments being vandalized when obviously we had proof we didn’t do it & it’s no surprise that we paid them our last month rent and it went Missing , This is just the a small snippet of our experience. There our other budget options available, please disregard this apartment complex.
This place has been a nightmare. Infested with roaches and terrible management. Don't bother with this dump.
Don't get me wrong. I loved the layout of the apartment. But, the management was terrible and the maintenance was worse, if possible. The day we were scheduled to receive our keys, they said it wasn't ready and they pushed it back one day. They let us see an apartment that was the same layout but in a different building. We were excited to move in, but had to wait a day longer. We received our keys, signed and everything. The was literally a huge squared chunk missing in the master bathroom and it was a mess. The laundry doors were falling apart. The guest bedroom door was messed up. They didn't finish the caulking in either bathroom. The pantry door would get stuck and not open. An outlet in the master bedroom fried our plug. The light covers in both bathrooms were missing. There was a hole hidden in the bathroom corner by the door and another in the living room next to the boiler. The water wouldn't get hot. And that's only when we first walked in in February. They constantly made excuses for why they hadn't finished. We didn't get anything done till July when I told them that was enough and would sue them. That same night the whole crew came in and did repairs. Didn't finish, but at least they got through most of the items on my list. The management was terrible. A manager had even come inside to take pictures, like she was going to take of the situation, but she didn't. And, one of the office people (Rene) told my father in law that I was "rude." And she told my husband I was "hormonal" because I was the one constantly having to go over there while pregnant. I was livid and cannot express my disappointment over this place. I am so grateful that my year is up and I have been given the gift of patience. This is not a suitable environment to live in.
I was not able to view the apartment until the day of move-in. I was promised that I would get laminate flooring in the living room. This was priority for me. The Property Manager said I would get a freshly renovated apartment. The day of move in they had a corporate meeting at 11 in the morning. When I was given the keys and opened the apartment, the first thing I see is carpeting in the living room. This should not have been a 3 minute argument with the Property Manager, Tami. Finally, they did agree to place laminate flooring in the living room the next day. However, after moving in the cabinets were dirty, microwave was dirty, rice in the pantry, toilets were dirty. There was a big hole in the bottom of the wall in the bathroom, the bathroom sink base was completely corroded. THIS WAS NOT A REMODELED UNIT!!!! I sent the Property Manager a strong email. She came the next day with a maintenance guy trying to intimidate me. Mind you I cleaned some of the cabinets but I took pictures of everything. She immediately said "How do I know these are my cabinets". What motivation would I have to lie about this? I'm the one that lost money. If there was a way to post my pictures I would. They do have a 30 day guarantee, if you do not like the apartment you can move out in 30 days. Well I moved in December 15, 2016 and I am moving out December 30, 2016. This has been so stressful. Stay away from this apartment complex.

What ever you do, DO NOT MOVE HERE! We signed a 13 month lease and had issue after issue with the apartment. Some examples are, Roach infestation, leaking windows, and huge water leaks coming from upstairs. Maintenance is terrible and don't actually fix anything. The office staff are unresponsive and seem annoyed by your issues. From talking with other tenants it seems the entire complex has major issues. Don't be fooled by the office, don't move here!

We are so sorry to hear you had a bad experience! The community was purchased by a new owner in 2015 and since then all of the building roofs have been replaced, the parking lots have been updated and the interior of the homes are being renovated. If you are a current resident and anything is needed in your home we hope you'll make us aware of the issue. Thank you!
The location is in a pretty good part of town, outside the 410 loop. Really nice neighborhoods across and down the street. The overall value is about average for these apartments. The office staff is apparently in a building phase as they have hired a new manager and is overwhelmed with issues within the staff and the complex itself. Maintenance cannot keep up with all of the problems here. The buildings are old and not up to date with the latest and greatest technologies. We have had power outages in our apartment and it was due to poor wiring and an outdated breaker box. This took a month to fix. Our appliances were not in good working order (the stove had a burner that was inoperable and our dishwasher still does not drain properly). This has been ongoing since we moved in two months ago. The gym next to us has a broken Nautilus machine and two treadmills that require a magnet to operate (for the safety attachment. Bring your own). It is a gated complex however the gates remain open 24/7 because "kids keep breaking off the antennas" so the key fobs do not work. I would not recommend living here. If you have time, keep looking elsewhere.

I am so sorry to hear that you had a bad experience at Whispering Oaks. Since this time the property has been purchased by a new management company who is making strides to repair and correct the issues described here including 1.3 million set aside to remodel and correct the community. If you are a current resident and are experiencing issues please don't hesitate to contact the front office and we'll be glad to assist!
Whispering Oaks have beautiful apartments for what you are paying, but the staff is absolutely terrible. All of the women in the front office are so unprofessional and literally do not keep up with anything. One of them will tell you one thing while another says it is wrong. They also play nice while you are signing your lease but once that is done, don't expect any of that anymore. No eye contact when you go into the office and they act like they are better than you are. Also, maintenance. I understand that they are probably extremely busy, but our apartment was in no way shape or form ready for us to move into. And then every time we would call in a request it would take a week for even one of those things to be fixed! All the while if you walk into the front office the maintenance guys are in there flirting with the office women! Bottom line is if you can deal with terrible management/office staff/maintenance people, MOVE HERE!
