Tucked into the mountains in the middle of the Coconino National Forest, Flagstaff encompasses everything fascinating about Arizona. It is in the shadow of the state's tallest mountain -- Humphreys Peak, and it is home to the Arizona Snowbowl Ski Resort. It is also near the Wupatki National Monument, Walnut Canyon National Monument, Meteor Crater, and Grand Canyon National Park. But while the outdoor adventures in Flagstaff range from hiking and mountain biking to snow skiing and snowboarding, this isn't just a resort city -- Flagstaff is home to Northern Arizona University, a top-ranked, public research university established in 1899.
Being home to one of the world's best universities is just the beginning. Flagstaff is also the location of the Lowell Observatory, one of the oldest observatories in the country, dating back to 1894. Considered one of the world's most important places, the observatory was where Pluto was discovered in 1930.

Property Ratings at The Place At Forest Ridge
I first moved into Forest Ridge thinking my stay would be temporary. Four years later I'm still here, due largely to: (1) convenient, multiple forest trails leading right off the property, (2) the peacefulness of the property and surrounding neighborhood, (3) dog-friendly policies (all breeds accepted) with an on-site dog park, and community of dog owners, and (4) the friendly and helpful front office and maintenance. As in most older buildings, amenities are not all state-of-the-art, but neither are the apartments sterile and cookie cutter as in so many newer complexes. Huge, mature trees on the property are spectacular, especially in springtime. Importantly, in these four years, the management and maintenance teams have steadily made significant, noticeable efforts to improve the quality of the grounds, the service, and community. Any older, negative reviews I've seen are simply no longer accurate or relevant.
Nice quite neighborhood. Has its own dog park. Good spot near the forest.
I have lived here for almost a year and I thoroughly enjoy it, the office is super easy to work with and everyone is so friendly and they’re always doing little events for their residents and they’re all very personable!
Not only is Forest Ridge one of the more affordable options in Flagstaff, they are in a great place too! For any students out there, NAU and the CC are both within biking distance (or walking if you're open to walking a couple miles). Target, Walmart, Sprouts, and other essential stores are also just within a couple miles. Downtown is a less-than 10 minute drive while Lake Mary Road is a short drive away. The biggest perk of all is the quiet suburbs Forest Ridge is tucked away in. This means a super family-friendly, peaceful location within minimal traffic. Love this place!
The central heat stopped working 20 days ago. The rental mgr gave me the run-around numerous times about the details of what was attempted in order to fix it. They have 10 days to resolve such a problem. They are just now getting a quote for a new furnace. They ordered parts before this. Those new parts did not fix the furnace. Space heaters have to be monitored carefully. My first month here has been a major disappointment. They will not put me in a different unit or agree to any compensation. Look elsewhere for an apartment. This is not up to par.

I am living in this unit nearly 6 months. We love our unit and so far everything is great. We have a nice kitchen, backyard and parking place. Whenever something is broken, they are fast to help.

This apartment complex is massive, so different buildings may provide varying experiences. Usually they have open apartments if you need to move in a pinch. Generally my experience has been that repairs are jerry-rigged in the cheapest way possible. There are also many amenities/appliances missing that generally you'd find in other Flagstaff apartments, such as no parking lot canopies anywhere in the community. The rent used to be cheaper here than average for this town, but they raised rates about 30% in a single year to match what's in town, even though similarly priced apartments generally have more to offer in their units terms of thermostats, parking lot canopies, dishwashers, garbage disposals, laundry machines, etc. Parking lot snow plowing is generally decent. The buildings are old and frequently require major repairs that result in utilities getting turned off fairly often. It's kinda Flag life but it's still not worth what they're charging compared to the competition. Work orders also often require at least 1 follow up call for it to actually get done, otherwise I've waited for weeks. The machines in the community laundry room are end of life. For several years, about 20% of the time on these machines, the spin cycle fails, and you're stuck with drenched clothing and a wasted 2$. Then you have to run the whole cycle again, hope the spin cycle works, and then put it in a dryer hoping the dryer's heating element didn't decide to act up that day. A lot of people have just given up on using this laundry facility. I don't really know how much control the office folks have over the situation, but it is what it is. Something kinda cool is that the staff gives out free food outside sometimes, which I've never encountered anywhere else I've lived. But it's ultimately owned by corporate landlord that's trying to squeeze as much money from tenants as possible with the least amount of effort.

Hello, I've lived here for going on 2 years! Absolutely love this place, the office people are super nice as well. This was my first time having my own apartment by myself and I couldn't thank the staff enough for helping me. The cleaning lady who cleans the laundry room and the model apartment is super nice and gives great conversations Everytime I run into her.

Forest ridge is a very clean and peaceful neighborhood, the people who work there really know how to take care of their renters. Their apartments are very nice, a little expensive, but I very much enjoy living here. I also love the fact that they don't discriminate against dog breeds. We have a terrier/pit-bull mix and a lot of apartment complex wouldn't take us for that fact. The apartment office have event calendar they give out every month, they host cookouts, hangout nights, they have movie rentals, and a dog park that's open 24/7. Forest ridge is one of the best places I have every rented at. If your every in flagstaff and looking to rent, I would totally recommend The place at Forest Ridge.
This unit is part of a four-plex. It has 2 bedrooms, 1 bathroom. It has a backyard, washer/dryer unit, and heating. I'm really satisfied with it. The people at the front desk are extremely helpful. The location is extremely convenient for NAU students. For the Flagstaff area, one could expect to pay a lot more for a similar place.
