The Arts District is home to Palace Theatre and the Ordway Center for the Performing Arts. I rarely write reviews but this was a must because The Penfield and the individuals that work their went above and beyond since the start. From the fabulous tour given by Andrea, to the easy application process, till the move in day, it was all so easy. I was apart of a corporate relocation and needed to move in almost immediately. The manager, Anna and her team made it happen. I can say that moving across the country carries its laundry list of things to worry about but because of The Penfield, finding a home was the one thing I knew I didn't have to stress over. The amenities, great location, clean apartments and reasonable prices are just the start of what makes this place the best place I've ever rented from.

Friendly, Fast and Fabulous move in process. Clean apartment to move into and no issues with with anything. Quiet facility. Great amenities to use. Not only all that but the staff is Fantastic!

Management has a loose relationship with the truth. Animal waste is often left in the halls. Cigarette and marijuana smoke often comes into our apartment from bathroom vent. Cars have been broken into and it took over a week for management to notify tenants. Major security gaps very easy for people to get into the building have seen garbage in stairwells that makes me think it’s squaters. It’s convenient if you work downtown but not a great location for downtown amenities. Far to much $ for what you get. Would strongly encourage looking elsewhere.

This is a great building, especially if you work anywhere on the Capitol complex. My walk to work is 5 minutes from my door to my desk. Being able to stop in at Lunds or Black Sheep for dinner after a long day is a godsend, and the light rail is only a block away so I hardly ever have to drive anywhere. The staff are super friendly and they throw tons of happy hour type events, if that's your jam. There are a lot of cool places to live in downtown these days, but the Penfield is hard to beat!
The Penfield has lived up to everything I expected. Great neighborhood. Quiet building. Nice common areas, pool, grills. Plus a Lunds and Caribou on the first floor. I highly recommend it. My only complaint is with Comcast. Service is terrible. Trying to stream movies or shows has caused heartburn. I am on my second (new and improved) modem in my first month here.
