Apartment Reviews at The Park at Avellino
Staff is great
I have lived here for 3 years and will be re-signing my lease this week. Management is GREAT!! Andrea and Shawana are always available when I call with a question/request. These ladies are ALWAYS friendly and follow up with me if needed. Maintenance is always friendly and they go above and beyond their job duties (Shout out to MONTY AND JEFF!!!). When it comes to a maintenance request I never have to follow up on my request and the request is always completed in a timely manner. KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB!!!! YOU ALL ROCK!!!!
TERRIBLE. I moved here because it was close to my work and school. They came into my apartment constantly to do upgrades one at a time. The management is extremely rude with the exception of one lady that was from the previous management. The rent goes up every time you resign. I have a stack of police reports from my vehicle being broken into as well as my apartment, and the management doesnt care at all. Many of my neighbors have also been burglarized. I Constantly see trash in the parking lot. As I type this, there is no running water in my apartment because they were doing repairs that were supposed to last from 9a.m. To 12. It is now 4 o'clock in the afternoon and I can't take a shower or use the restroom.
Lots of Space with Lots of problems
The management here is absolutely horrible. They are rude and completely unhelpful. They don't seem to care at all about their residents. They don't even give proper warning that they are going to come in and work on things in your apartment. I stayed at a friend's one night and came home to my lights on and a notice that they had come in to fix one of my sockets. That is fine but they should definitely provide proper warning, it was scary to come home to lights on and thinking that someone had broken into my apartment. The old management at least was helpful and courteous to their tenants. The pest control they provide is awful as well. I was home once when they came by, all they do is spray one small area and leave. I have had a constant bug problem in my apartment through my whole time here. The apartments are very outdated but you do get a lot of space for a good price. If you are a light sleeper, this is not the space for you. You can hear EVERYTHING. I unfortunately live on the first floor and I can hear every single step the people above me take. Ruins any weekend day where you are trying to relax. I think that if they hired a staff that actually cared and also looked into a few upgrades, this would be a much nicer place to live.
New managemnt, new problems
I first became a resident in January 2014 when the apartments were known as Madison Bay Pointe. The previous team was AWESOME! Within the past few months, new management took over. Unfortunately, I’ve not experienced any good encounters with new management. The lack of communication with this team is mediocre. It would have been nice to receive notice of ALL renovations as I came home one day and my entire kitchen and silverware was covered in saw dust. I could have prepared for the dust accumulated. Previously, maintenance would fix repairs less than 48 hours, sometimes within an hour. Currently, it takes 3 months and counting to fix repairs. In October 2016, had a washer/dryer unit installed (located in the kitchen pantry). The water heater was previously located where the washer/dryer unit is now. The water heater was installed on a raised surface, but the floor was not leveled out prior to installing the washer/dryer. The dryer door now swings back and forth and does not stay open. This may seem minor, but the size of the pantry is very small with no room to maneuver; the water heater is across from the washer/dryer. Installation of the washer/dryer required the dry wall (from ceiling to floor) between the refrigerator and washer/dryer to be cut out. The complex "repaired" the wall by inserting a pre-built wall; 3 months later and its still not secured in place; I can pull it out of its location. During the install, the hallway light on the ceiling was broken by the installers. They purchased a new fixture, but it didnt fit. They didn't speak English but said “the office will fix it.” This didnt get fixed until weeks later after I reported it. The door to the pantry remains on my living room floor as that still is not installed either. The fireproof covering between the drywall was cut and not repaired either ( pretty sure this is not up to code and question that for the water heater as well as it was previously installed on a raised surface and is not now). I’ve reported this “situation” to management several times and nothing; no communication or updates as to when they plan on fixing this I live on the top floor and downstairs neighbor smokes; the smell is so strong and comes up to my apartment. When I first moved into the apartment this was an issue but they had to put insallation in the wall area where the water heater is now. A BIG issue for me as I do not smoke and have allergies. Needless to say I will not be renewing my lease
Not resigning. Don't move here
the new staff is extremely rude. They do not care about complaints. They do not follow through with anything they say they will do. They don't even give tenants 24hr notice of work orders or for entering the apartment. The previous staff was kind and actually helped with problems THEIR apartments had. they also provided a weeks notice before entering the apartment.
DO NOT LIVE HERE
The maintenance take too long to complete any requests so they pile up in the office. I had to walk to the office just to actually get my request done. These apartments were built in the 70's so everything falls apart and everything in the house when you move in is painted over example: the air vent in my bathroom had domestic dust in it was painted over WITH THE DUST STILL IN IT and the paint in my bath tub is coming off with MOLD ALL AROUND THE EDGES so with the terrible maintenance on top of that you're better off going somewhere else.
A lot of space here. It is a little outdated though; the electrical sockets really need rewiring so they are more convenient. Some of them are hooked to a light switch so you can't use them unless the switch is on. Maintenance men are always polite and friendly. Pest control has been great since they changed providers last year. We are comfortable and we are renewing our lease.
the Madison at Baypointe
These are nice older apartments for the price and area. The maintenance is great. The grounds are kept up but could use some more money spent on some landscaping. My apartment is a one bedroom and works good for me. We have a dog park that the dogs seem to love. Also a playground for the kids. And a pool which is great to hang out in the summer. We are in a good area, close to everything. I have lived here for 4 years and don"t want to move any time soon. Great place to live.
Worst apt community I have ever lived.
I am still here stuck, for six more month on one-Year-lease. The apt is old, no kitchen or bathroom windows. The bathroom fan was off on purpose because when I asked to hook it up, It was so loud and woke up the neighbor. I asked them to un-hook it. The kitchen light stays on over 16 hours per day because there is no natural illumination. The cockroach problem is a big issue until today. Since day one, I have being fighting cockroaches in this apt. I have spent so much money with this problem. To make a long story short, we are limited to use only the dished that fit inside the dishwasher. Yes, we use or dishwasher as a storage for our dishes so we can keep its door closed to avoid contact with the cockroaches. First time I went to the office to talk about the bugs I was told that only on Mondays they do pest controls. I asked to be on the list. They did not have me on the list. and I went again asked to be on the list and they came in once and never show up again. I went to complaint and she told me that I need to ask every week to be on the list. At the time I was killing over 60 to 100 cockroaches per day. From all sizes. So I went back to the office and I was told that problem was me because they never had cockroaches problem before with this unit. SHE LIED because I asked people who lives here, 95% have cockroaches problems... We keep our place as clean as possible. Even the pest control guy, when he come to spray, he said our apt is very clean... At the begging of the month I went back to the office to ask the leasing officer to let me out of my lease. Before even asking why or what is gong on, she started to accusing me for all the clogs, that the found grease in my sink... and some other things. I told her, that I did not want to feel insulted again because last time I was there, her co-worker told me the I had cockroaches was pet. And she also said that I caused all the pest infestation in my apt. And that a general manager was going to call me. Two weeks have passed. No calls from anybody. . I woke up on Tuesday 8/15/17 morning around 3am and I killed over 30 cockroaches still. I have videos and pictures. NEVER, rent anything without going over yourself. I was out of states and I rented this place because of the pictures the offices lady sent me... Best thing is to ask the people who is living in the neighborhood. Peace. Do to limitations here, I have to remove some of my comments...
