My friend and I were apartment hunting for her daughter who will be attending WMU in the fall. The place appears to be a great place for college students, nice grounds and The agent Ryan who took us on a tour of facilities and he was very helpful.

I have lived here for the past 7 months and my experience has been horrific. Management is quite possibly the worst in the business, they talk to their residents with an attitude and refuse to acknowledge their own mistakes. From day 1, this has been a terrible place to live. They wont let you move in early because they're "cleaning" but when I moved in, there was cereal left under the bed given to us and the side of my tub was covered in dog hair. The rest of the apartment was also disgusting and clearly was not even looked in before move in. Every time I have spoken with management, they have spoken to me in a condescending manner and are incredibly unprofessional. They refused to help my roommates and I when we had a bad roommate. They allow everyone to have parties, even on weekdays. Poor parking situation, if you don't get home before 7pm, good luck finding parking remotely near your apartment. They did not keep up with plowing and shoveling the walkways/stairs, I've fallen a number of times since winter began and my car literally got stuck because of their refusal to properly plow. This place is just terrible, your money could be better spent elsewhere.

The model was very nice. When the apartment was rented out to me, it was extremely filthy with broken furniture. It took about 1 month to get everything together once together, there was always an issue with payment. The only time there wasn’t a problem with payment is when the payments were submitted USPS overnight mail. Courtney the property manager is not always honest. She will make promises to do things and then make an excuse why she didn’t. In order to resolve any problems I would suggest contacting the property management company in Troy, MI. One positive: it is near WMU campus and they provide transportation for the students.
My daughter moved into the paddock a year ago as her first apartment. I was very nervous having her on her own for the first time but I feel safe having her there, especially with having the gated Community and security.
•First of all your move-in is on August 21st and you must pay the full month of rent on august 1st and your lease will end on July 31st the next year meaning you are paying a FULL MONTH of rent for only 9 DAYS of staying there that is equal to a minimum $50+ (depending on layout & rooms) A DAY TO LIVE THERE FOR THE FIRST MONTH. •Second: of all their maintenance sucks their apartments are falling apart someone's wall literally caved in completely from having the roof leak water in so long before they fixed it. •Third: Their management is terrible. Don't let them trick you either they keep saying they just changed management well they say that every year I know people who lived there in the past!!!!! Trust the reviews They ARE UTTER GARBAGE AND WILL PROBABLY GO OUT OF BUSINESS SOON AND TAKE ALL YOUR MONEY.
The management is rude and clearly does not care about their residents. I moved in and they had to redo all of the carpet in my townhouse. I came home after working all day to have all of my belongings shoved into my bathroom, damaging my bed frame, dresser, and tearing some of my clothing. I was never made aware of them coming and disappointed that they would ruin my things without even an apology. I did not have internet access for the first two weeks and they tried making me go to spectrum and paying to have it connected even though internet is included. Everything was dirty and dead bugs were on the floor upon move in. There is no quality control and the leasing agents are by far the most rude people I have ever dealt with. In addition, it took them four months to get me a mail key and once again they tried to make me pay for the key even though I had never received one in the first place. The key fobs for the gym rarely work and the leasing agents always have some sort of lame excuse as to why nothing is their fault. The bathrooms flood without any warning and the maintenance team just makes you wait it out to dry and do not fix any damage to the drywall when it leaks into the floor below it. Cleaning supplies were left all over the apartment upon move in and they were even still painting the walls in some rooms while we were trying to get settled into the new apartment. The Paddock has no idea what it means to be professional and they close the leasing office for a long weekend to do "training" but post on social media all about the vacation that they took together and leaving their residents with no support while they are gone (although it is not like they are much help when they are there).
