Fort Wayne combines Midwestern hospitality with city amenities along its three rivers - St. Marys, St. Joseph, and Maumee. The city features 86 public parks and 180 miles of trails for outdoor enthusiasts. Downtown's cultural district is home to the Embassy Theatre, Fort Wayne Museum of Art, and Headwaters Park, which hosts community events throughout the year. Housing options range from downtown lofts in historic buildings to residential communities in Southwest Fort Wayne and Aboite. The rental market remains affordable, with average one-bedroom apartments renting for $932, showing a modest 1.4% annual increase, while two-bedroom units average $1,226 with a 2.9% year-over-year rise.
The city's heritage as a frontier outpost continues to evolve, as shown by the Electric Works development in the former General Electric complex. Notable attractions include Purdue University Fort Wayne, Indiana Tech, the Fort Wayne Children's Zoo, and the Foellinger-Freimann Botanical Conservatory.

The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Meridian (Waterloo Gardens)
I’ve been at this property going on 3 years and I haven’t had any major issues. It doesn’t look the greatest when you pull in any lot, but the inside of the units are actually REALLY NICE!! My lot has been very quiet the past 3 years and my kids feel comfortable living here. I’m very happy in my apartment!
The complex isn’t bad. It’s a bit run down as the old company did not take care of the place, but the current owners seem to be taking action and doing many remodels and fixes. There can even be maintenance crews seen daily. When we first moved in, there needed to be repairs, but they at least fixed it within 2-3 weeks and fixed a later emergency plumbing problem within a few hours. The units they have available now seem to all be newly renovated! Mine even has radiant ceiling heating, nice tiled floors, was newly painted, newer appliances, and has spacious closets. The only downside is the curb appeal. Some places look rundown, but I think this will change as the new management continues to renovate the complex
I applied here in August 2021. Never heard anything. I tried calling, texting the automated service they have, emailing, and leaving many messages. Nothing. *10 months later* I finally get someone on the phone, only for her to claim to not be able to do anything because she wasn’t working here back in August. Of course their fees are non refundable. Of course there is no one else I can talk to except her. Because why take care of a person who had to basically stalk the phone lines to even check what happened?? To sum this up, only apply if your requirements for an apartment are getting your money taken and zero communication! Customer service can go a long way, and this place doesn’t have it. The property manager should consider a new career path.
Just the other day I stopped in to inquire about a 1 bedroom 1 bath. I was helped by Christina, Briana and Andrea, they did an amazing job explaining everything to me and answering all my questions I had. 10/10 Service
I could never imagine renting from a place with so many dog breed restrictions. Get with the times, its not the breed, it's the dog itself and how it was raised. I have owned Danes and Malamutes and never had one be mean or destructive. That being said I would recommend managing it as a case by case situation. Meet the dog moving in instead of assuming the worst of every breed. That's insane.
Do not rent from this place you will regret it as soon as you move in. Just like I did there was huge spiders everywhere and e weeks after I moved in I started getting roaches from the Neighbor House Ive been her for 11 months now and they are onky getting worse and they have a exterminator come every other Tuesday and nothing is changes Its the worst If something breaks in your hone they go to an abandon apartment and get what they need clean it off and bring it to your House..Seriously Stay Away
