Property Ratings at The Moderne
The only reason I’m giving 1 stars (instead of 0) is because the concierge and maintenance staff are wonderful, kind, responsive and genuinely helpful. Unfortunately, the apartment itself and leasing are the real problem. The unit I was shown on my tour was much nicer than what I actually received, and this was never disclosed. The kitchen appliances look like they came straight from a junkyard, scratched, stained, broken, and barely functional. I would have paid more for a better unit, but I was never given that option when signing our lease. I didn’t expect brand new appliances, but I did expect them to match the quality of what I saw on the tour. On top of that, half the rooms in my unit don’t even have blinds. The tour unit did, but I was told blinds and appliances are “luck of the draw” only after moving in, and that I could pay extra for custom blinds. Why would I pay out of pocket to add value to a unit I don’t own, especially when the expectation was set during the sales process that I would receive those blinds? Move-in was also tricky. We rented extra storage, but the leasing office couldn’t clearly tell us where it was located. We had movers on a tight timeline, and the lack of clarity wasted valuable time (again, the concierge was the only person who was quick to help us here). And there was someone on the team parked in our spot when we arrived on move-in day. I could overlook those mistakes if the apartment itself wasn’t so crappy. Bottom line: the non-remodeled units are dated (they look like the apartments I rented in college, like eight years ago, but with worse appliances), and the remodeled units are TINY. And if you lease here, it looks like your risk having a kitchen with appliances that barely work (our oven does not get hot, the fridge is too cold and iced our food and ruined my insulin, and the microwave and dishwasher are literally falling apart.) There are far better and more updated options in Milwaukee at similar price points. I regret signing here and am already accelerating my home-buying search.

We have lived at the Moderne three years ago. When relocating back to Milwaukee, this was our first choice. The staff is super friendly and effective, the location is wonderful.

it’s been a great experience. The management is responsive, maintenance is quick, and the building is always clean. The location is convenient with shops and public transit nearby. Definitely recommend to anyone looking for a quiet, comfortable place to live.
My resident experience has been going good so far. I like the monthly events that the apartment complex coordinates. I am excited to start attending some of them!
Concierges we’ve met so far are all awesome & a breath of fresh air, but the managing staff seems like they have their hands full and don’t have much time to address all of our move-in questions. There are a couple glaring issues in the unit that need some fixing, but they have an easy maintenance submission app and maintenance seems friendly. Move-in process was quick and easy, they updated the club room since we toured and it looks very nice. The few issues that we have can be easily addressed & we’re excited to be here
The unit and building is really nice. We had a bunch of issues and inconsistencies with the move in process and the physical condition of the unit though.
The leasing office and concierge went above and beyond to make sure my move went smoothly. They checked in multiple times throughout the day to make sure i was attended too and to check if I needed anything. Also welcomed my pups to some treats!

The building is great. There should be some kind of residential board of directors that communicate about the flow of events and usage of amenities but other than that it’s a pretty cool building with amazing staff.

I love the location of The Moderne, however there always seems to be some sort of pressing issue that causes disruption to day to day life (fire alarms, broken elevator, broken garbage chute). I also think that with the amount paid for rent, there could be more amenities (vending machine?)

Moved in recently, loving it so far. The view at night is by far my favorite thing. All the space in the cabinet is also a plus, feels like I got all the space in the world.

The staff have always been kind, there was an issue with fire alarms going off that seems to have been solved. Right now, the garbage chutes have been broken for awhile. That has been kinda frustrating. Overall, a good experience but not perfect.

Just moved in on the 2nd but absolutely love it so far. The people we've met already have been very friendly. Love the staff, especially Mitch and the folks at the concierge desk. They we're incredibly helpful with our move in. The location could not be better. We go to a lot of Bucks games and take shuttles to the Brewers when they are playing. The apartment itself is perfect. Really great view from our unit and the building as a whole is nice and quiet. I can see us staying here for a long time.

I have been residing in this apartment for several years months now, I am impressed with the overall experience. The apartment is very well maintained. The management team is responsive and helpful, Concierge keeps the space feeling at home. I recommend this apartment for anyone looking for a new home.

I would definitely recommend this apartment community because the staff is courteous, the apartments, condos and penthouses are modern, it' a very peaceful atmosphere and the location is in walking distance to most local venues especially Carson' and Fiserv Forum!

The new management transition has been bumpy around parking specifically. Hoping that is settled and behind us now as residents had to communicate 2-3 times in different formats to requests.
I used to live by the lake off prospect but when I moved back to Milwaukee the second time, I moved into a Moderne apartment. This apartment is new, clean, solid and so quiet. The inside bedroom has a slit on top which allows morning light to come in but otherwise so quiet and dark which cured my insomnia. Plus, I can walk to the Bucks Games within minutes. Can’t beat this!

This building has been great so far. The staff are very friendly and helpful and the apartments are modern and sleek as the name suggests. Love living here so far.
Won't find a better view of Milwaukee. Great location just minutes from the highway. Walking distance to Milwaukee's night life, shops, restaurants, river walk and right next door to a major sports arena. Only a few miles from the beach, art museum, mall, theaters and more. There's always something fun and exciting going on close by. There's a steak & barbecue restaurant conveniently located on the 1st floor with friendly staff and great atmosphere. Many terrific amenities (heated indoor parking, secure access, workout room, 8th floor community room with the best coffee/espresso machine around and the most breathtaking views). A wonderful and fun community to live in.
