The Majestic at Hewitt

Raising our rent by $1005- No joke----- This place used to be an AMAZING place to live. In fact, my mom and I both had lived within these properties (both separately and together) for literally 15+ years. The old management was like family and the property always had a waiting list because once you were here, you never wanted to leave. Now Monticello (out of Dallas) owns it and wants to raise our rent- get this- by $1005. No joke. And all at ONE TIME. This is literally DOUBLE OUR RENT. And, we were told that we would get NO upgrades like they are doing in the other units. All they are doing is painting over everything and raising the rent to amounts that families cannot pay.. And things like rotted wood and other issues we have mentioned to them have still not been taken care of. Needless to say, we are not staying. Ya know, back in the day, when my son and I moved here from Dallas, finding this property was amazing. To have a place that was safe, in a good school district, and that was a home I could afford meant everything. I feel so bad for single moms (or dads) these days with companies like this making it harder and harder to live. It's truly sad what this company is doing. They just want to have a property that runs like a corporate business and not one that cares about the actual people.
