Property Ratings at The Madison
There are so many problems with these apartments. The office staff is nice up front but when a problem actually occurs they won’t help you. We went without a bath tub for almost 2 years and found out people were paying $300 less a month for the same apartments than we were. It took over a week to fix the air last summer and we literally had problems with it almost every other month.
I had a great experience and they were very transparent about any fees up front so no surprises! Jacob was very helpful throughout the process.
I have lived here for many years and have been here during several different management companies. The management company now is fantastic. The have a wonderful group of people from upper management, to the property manager, assistant manager, and rental agents. The people are very professional and also very kind to the residents. They seem to genuinely care about the people who live here. I have lived here, as I said, for a very long time. This complex is very quiet, and that is due to the management. If there are issues, they handle them in a timely manner. Also, the maintenance is the best I have ever seen. They take care of maintenance issues when they get them and they are also very personable. They also complete the job correctly the first time. I hopefully will be able to remain here for years to come.

Make sure not to order anything expensive, as it will get delivered to the parcel locker system, staff will take it out & it will go missing. They'll try to tell you nothing was delivered, but if you offer evidence to show that it was, then they backtrack and will say it was misdelivered. When I approached staff, they denied and denied, then stood in silence for about a full minute, and stated they will "investiagte".
We lived a little over a year in the property, paid bills on time, didn't have issues with neighbors, at the time of the lease ending we left some belonging by mistake. We called the office to let them know since we were leaving out of state the next day. When we got back, our things were thrown away like they were garbage. They did not let us know this important piece of information when we called. They managed this situation with cero empathy towards a human being. Very poor management!
Will tow your car without warning or communication and refuse to pay for costs to get it back
Have lived here almost two years and have had issues since we moved in. Constantly putting in work orders just to have half-assed work done. The worst for us is problems with the A/C especiallyin the summer, imagine waking up at 2am and it's 84° inside your place and they come "fix it" and a couple days later the same problem. Not to mention the floors and walls are paper thin, I have lived in other apartments and some noise is to be expected but not like this. One day, before I'd turned on the T.V. in my apt, I could here almost the entire conversation of my neighbor under me. It's truly ridiculous, can't speak to the new side of the complex but the first side is so disappointing.
The first month was great, then everything went down hill my A/C has been on and off meaning my apartment is at 80 degrees while it’s on. It’s the 9th request I’ve made. Let’s not even count the amount of times I’ve had to call the emergency line about the A/C Last Saturday was my last straw I’m paying for rent at an apartment where they keep doing temporary fix and my ac just stops working after a few days. This is so exhausting , Saturday it stopped working I called the emergency maintenance line Sunday they said they would come fix it then he said Monday. Monday came nothing was done, then Tuesday same problem I called the office left voicemails, called left voicemail for maintenance, I put a request. There’s been times where they come to check the A/C and i end up having to turn it off and they think I’m stupid and don’t know how to turn it on auto and think that’s why it’s not cooling. Don’t waste your money I’m paying so much for rent yet their service sucks. I am so ready for my Lease to be up this experience has been one of the most stressful especially with these temps. Now the staff is nice. I just wish this was taken more seriously, I have now even considered ending my lease early because of how inconvenient it is here , I can’t even have my siblings over since they usually would go over weekends because of how hot it is inside even with the “temporary ac” they put in the sun room. Not only is the communication horrible , this is actually Dangerous. I’m so disappointed I don’t want anyone to go through what we are currently Going through. Update 7/2/21 my A/C has now been down since Saturday they do not care if your apartment is 80 degrees, to this day haven’t received a call back to even check in. Let’s not even start on the fake reviews these apartments have. Oh and to add it you will never find a parking spot.
I have lived here for 6 months and I can't wait to move. Since I have moved in I have put in work order after work order. They come and fix the "issues" ,then I find myself putting the same issue in again. Not to mention how much paint I have on my floors and patched up holes walls and patched up work that I find in each room. I noted these issues and more in my move in report, but nothing has changed! The sad thing is that I love the apartment and how quiet it normal stays. Although that has changed since the neighbor started playing extra loud music! Also don't get me started on the bugs inside and out. I have had enough, I;m patiently waiting on moving day!

I highly recommend this place! People always post such negative things when they’re upset but I think it should be taken with a gain of salt!! My family and I adore the property manager Raul. Since living here he has been nothing short of amazing! The upgrades in the apartments are top of the line! We enjoy every resident event and attend every single one! Thank you Matthews Crossings! This is such a family oriented community!
If you want to live in an apartment with outdated appliances and a staff that doesn't answer the phone then this is the place for you. Every interaction I have had with the staff here has gone as unsmooth as possible. I would rate 0 stars if I could.
Do not live here! My spare bedroom and bathroom had roaches! Our AC unit was stoked off the side of the building! Our heat broke in the think of winter! Called maintenance and was basically ignored! Do not live here!!!
If you have so many maintenance complaints, why don't you do something about them. Been living in an apartment with no dryer, no way to retreive my mail (they don't have a key), kitchen counter rests on dishwasher which means you lift the counter to open the dishwasher, bugs, front door should have a whole new unit put in because some keys work others don't (you have to hold your mouth just right to get some keys to work). Maintenance never shows up.
The location is very convenient to both the Charlotte and Matthews area, has lots of trees and is a quiet community. It's a shame that it is so poorly managed. The property attempts to promote itself as a professional community with aspiring amenities but fails miserably. The maintenance is either understaffed or lacks adequate training and is slow to getting to maintenance requests and often has to do them more than once to get it right. The office personnel lacks a professional approach to problem solving and makes the resident feel like a burden instead of an asset. On Friday 04/14/17 the management locked the front doors and gave the appearance that the office was closed but was holed up inside, no signage, no notice, nothing to let the tenants, the contractors, or the perspective new tenants know that they weren't really closed. They just locked the doors and didn't answer for awhile for their convenience. It's rare that they answer the phone when you call and most of the amenities are for show and tell. There has to be something better in the area than this.
very spacious and convenient to everything but my issue is how you report something not working and its obvious that the washer and dryer are out dated instead of just replacing they continue to tinker with it. I feel that they should have updated appliances. I have reported the same appliances like four times; everything has a lifespan and I feel I'm paying for location and not quality.

The neighborhood is nice and quiet but the police are always around. They also have bugs a lot of them and no matter if pest control come they will not go away. They also have a towing company that comes through and tow cars with bad tags or flat tires,etc. They also have dozens of cats in the neighborhood. But the office people are nice and it really has a nice gym and pool.

No parking at all!! Maintenance is so slow to respond! The grounds are poorly maintained and lots of BUGS! Small ants, spiders and occasionally roaches!! Not due to cleanliness but lack of spraying for such problems by maintenance. We have lived here a year and not once have we been notified they the apartment complex sprayed for anything! Not a great place!! Ok for the price space wise.. But not worth the negitives!!
