The Madison Belmont

The staff here are amazing! I had some questions and spoke with Will the Community Manager. He took the time to answer all of my questions. I could tell he was very busy but he still took the time to expand on some of his answers that I still had questions about. He didn’t hurry me or try to rush me out. He is really kind and polite. He’s really done a great job since he’s been here. Galina the leasing agent is the one who gave me the tour and helped me with all of the paperwork. Every time I’ve gone into the office she always helps me out and if she can’t she gets the person who can. This is a nice sized community and she sees so many people daily and every time I see her in the office or we pass outside she always greets me by my name. I wouldn’t expect her to remember my name but she does and it’s a nice personal touch. The maintenance crew David and Fidel are the absolute best. They are fast to respond whether it’s a big or little problem. They always have a smile when they come in. They do great work and fix it right the first time. The apartments are spacious and get great natural light. Plus there is plenty of storage space. Each building has a laundry room with nice machines and the price to wash and dry is good. The price and the machines are so much better than the laundromat. The hallways are kept clean. They did landscaping improvements and there are nice places to sit outside. The 2 pools are wonderful in the summer. I looked at a lot of apartments when I was moving and I’m so happy I chose to live here. Nice apartments and amenities and the staff are top notch.

Within days of moved in I knew I would not renew the lease and if it don’t cost $2k to break it I would of be GONE. Since may 23 we have roaches everywhere, specially kitchen. Management sucks and won’t use a exterminator that actually works instead they use a 3rd party. Neighbors are rude, blast music and tv at all times, slams doors. People park on ur car spot. The deck has 2 screws preventing us from opening it, the apartment has barely any air flow, the bathroom vents smells weed very strong, the entire complex is DISGUSTING, police is always inside and it’s not safe. No cameras no security. Roaches roaches roaches in the apartment! Units are old, old appliances, old windows no double panned!

Loved here for a year. I knew within a month of living here we would not be renewing our lease. Roaches in our apartment on move in, carpet was soaking wet on move in day from being cleaned just the same morning, garbage everywhere and out heater didn’t work during winter for at least a month. Management is not helpful either. Make sure you email them your complaints rather then through the portal because then they will say they have no record of all the issues.

I would never want to live here because the leasing lady was super rude and this is why it is - Called for an appointment on Monday - the lady who answered said they only have weekend appointments- booked for 11am Saturday - Called several times on Friday to reschedule to Saturday 2pm - no one answered asked Showed up at the leasing office at 2pm- the lady at the desk showed Zero hospitality and shut the door on the face saying she is busy and cannot show the place. When confronted about no one answered the Call or called back for the voice mail - she said “” She is not in office 24hrs “”

This property offers a convenient location for commuters right across Caltrain near many shopping stores, malls and main freeways not to mention that it is so close to such great schools! Management is super friendly and very professional and maintenance is on top of work orders being placed! I honestly feel so glad to come home everyday! Peaceful environment!

Filthy complex with super loud partying neighbors. Trash is frequently overflowing with large items such as old furniture. The pools are unusuable in the summer because of the fraternity style parties with tons of non-residents joining in. The fitness club has been "under renovation" since I moved in back in summer 2017. Units are not well maintained. After 8 tickets related to faulty plumbing and a black sewage water flood, the leasing manager refused to replace my sewer-infested carpet and provide cleaning to remove the filth. In order to get my carpet replaced, he wanted me (an elderly woman) to move out my own furniture on my own dime so they could replace the flooring. The management company is a joke and maintenance crew is slow to respond - over five hours to respond to an emergency call for my sewer flood. There is no parking for guests; street park on Old County and walk down the hill. My car was hit by a resident, too, who apparently couldn't see my parked car. Oh, and two of my bicycles were stolen in a matter of six months. The chain was cut and it was taken during broad daylight. You've been warned.

I have lived here for over 4 years, and it's been so wonderful. The units are simple but elegant. For a large complex, it's relatively quiet. The staff is very friendly and very responsive to any issues that arise. There have been continous renovations on the buildings and the grounds, including the pool area and entrance, making the complex feel more like a resort than an apartment building. It's centrally located - in minutes, you can walk to the shopping center, bike along the shores of Redwood Shores, take Caltrain to the City, or drive on the 101 to anywhere on the Peninsula. The perfect combination for apartment living.

Life at the Madison Belmont is pleasant on a daily basis. The property has both newly renovated apartments and others with the original floor plans. Renovations include a more open concept floor plan, and new appliances in the kitchen. Additionally the renovated apartments include new bathroom vanities. Overall the management staff is attentive here and very friendly. If maintenance is needed it can take some time as it seems like they are continuously under staffed; however, in time everything that has needed fixing is fixed. The apartments themselves include a nice amount of storage. And a fair sized balcony where you are allowed to store an electric grill. The renovations in my particular apartment, however, do look rushed. Some of the cabinet doors are quite crooked, and there are many dings in the new cabinets as well. These apartments are nice at first glance but if you look too close you will notice some rough spots (not even patching of walls, crooked cabinets, bad paint, etc.). But nothing that should ruin your day to day musings. Rent has increased a significant amount in the last year and seems to continue to rise. This is to be expected for the area so don't plan to lock in your rate for more than 12 months. Pets are allowed here, both dogs and cats, and there are many around the building but dogs barking doesn't seem to be a problem. You will be charged a monthly pet rent per pet. Additionally, there are 2 pools on site and laundry facilities (pay by pre-loaded card) on every floor of each building. Public transportation near by is great. There is a Caltrain station less than a 5 min walk away. This station only services local trains so it doesn't come as often as may be convenient but there is a free shuttle to the Hillsdale station which is fully serviced. You can hear the train from the complex but it is not super loud and does not run late at night. Finally there are many great places within walking distance including a nice large Safeway. All and all the Madison Belmont is a nice option for someone who is looking for a pet friendly apartment complex within walking distance of amenities and public transportation.
