The GreatSchools Rating helps parents compare schools within a state based on a variety of school quality indicators and provides a helpful picture of how effectively each school serves all of its students. Ratings are on a scale of 1 (below average) to 10 (above average) and can include test scores, college readiness, academic progress, advanced courses, equity, discipline and attendance data. We also advise parents to visit schools, consider other information on school performance and programs, and consider family needs as part of the school selection process.

Property Ratings at The Lorient
I spent 4.5 years in this building, and it was hands-down one of the most frustrating living experiences I’ve ever had — almost entirely because of how poorly managed it is. Management has proven time and again that they are either incompetent, indifferent, or both: -Snow removal? Neglected. More than once, I was literally trapped in the garage, unable to get to work, while my kids missed school. -Security? A joke. The storage room was left unsecured, leading to theft. Their “solution”? Locking tenants out of their own belongings for over a week. -Repairs? Slow, sloppy, and disruptive. It took months to fix basic Wi-Fi connectivity, six months for a fridge door replacement, and they left my kitchen torn up during the holidays for an endless backsplash repair. -Equipment? Constant failures - furnace, plumbing, electrical, light fixtures. You name it, it broke. -Noise? Absolutely brutal. During the pandemic, major construction directly below my unit started every morning at 6 am. I was working from home at the time and the noise made my apartment completely unlivable. My kids were routinely startled awake, and management ignored my complaints until I went to the City of Edina. Even then, the best I got was construction starting at 7 am instead of 6 - hardly a fix. To make matters worse, the “Yoga Rooms” below my unit routinely blast music starting at 6 am, and despite repeated complaints, management continued to shrug it off. Bottom line: This building could have been a decent place to live, but management’s incompetence and disregard for tenants ruin it. If you value peace, responsiveness, or even the basics of a functional home, I strongly recommend avoiding this place.
I have lived here for three years. Everybody loves my apartment, especially me. The kitchen set up is perfect and the use of space is special. Being in this neighborhood and walking everywhere is amazing.
I moved into The Lorient in April 2023 after living in the Lake Harriet neighborhood for 44 years. I looked at 10 to 15 apartment complexes before deciding to make The Lorient my home. I love it! The Management and Maintenance team are exceptional. The amenities are perfect; roof top terrace for skyline viewing, a great party/social room for any occasion and a gorgeous private courtyard. I have lovely neighbors making transition from a wonderful neighborhood so much easier. Best of all I can lock my door and walk out knowing all will be safe and secure so I can enjoy my vacation home on Lake Superior. If you are looking for a great place this is it!
I moved into the Lorient a year and a half ago and could not be more pleased with my experience! First, the location is wonderful. Walkable to many great sites, restaurants, and necessities without the hustle and bustle of 50th and France or Linden Hills downtown areas. Second-the staff who maintains the property is wonderful! I have filed several maintanence requests and the staff has been attentive, knowledgeable and has responded quickly to make sure needs are met. The property is also incredibly clean and well kept with daily cleaning of common spaces. Lastly, the sense of community. The people who live here are all so kind and considerate. There is a strong sense of community with opportunities to attend events such as wine and paint night (taught by a resident!) and book club to name a few. People often exchange greetings and conversation from their outdoor balconies or passing in the hallways. Overall, I could not recommend a property more. The Lorient and the residents has exceeded my expectations when it comes to apartment living!
Hard to reach the Lorient Apartments of Edina MN with no return phone calls. Bait and Switch tactics used regarding pricing of affordable apartments. Two affordable apartments were listed on multiple websites in October and November...the Lorient Apartments immediately changed their pricing and took off the more affordable units/lower prices following my inquiries. Won’t waste anymore of my time trying to rent @ The Lorient Apartments of Edina!
